One question: what's the use for covered steel parts anyway??? If you make it carbon, why not making the complete part out of only carbon fiber??? 😅Seems to be kinda useless just covering it😅
Hello and thank you for watching. You are absolutely right, my friend, you should actually do that. But my client didn't want to spend the money on me casting it. The customer's goal was mostly appearance in this case. This is a good example if you want to try this at home and perhaps don't have all the knowledge to cast/mold off and glue on afterwards.

The trunk came out spectacular. I can't wait to try out the fish-eye filling method you mentioned when I recoat my carbon splitter! Btw, what grit sandpaper would get rid of epoxy high spots especially after 2k clear?
Huge thanks man! really appreciate it! Ooo If I understand the quastion the right way I would say that you schould not put any clear on the epoxy before its flat enough. If you put clear on and then begin to sand trough the different layers it can be a shift of colors between the epoxy and the clear. Try to build up enough with epoxy until you think it's flat and then start with the clear. I usually sand the epoxy with 240p and finish of with a 500p before I go over to clear.

They should have just had u do the molding and wrap it in carbon fiber looking wrap. I know you have to do what the customer wants but I personally hate this "trend" in lets make it look like carbon fiber parts....

@@MagassDesign how does this hold up over time? wont it crack in the transitions? ideally for me, i would just get it painted after its been molded in? so no, carbon fibre overlay over the whole thing.
@@juangouveia8098 You could do boath. My customer wanted to have carbon fiber overlay, but you could just paint it. I have done this over 30 ish times and had a good result over time, but what I learnt over the years is that it can sink but I have not seen it krack with the method I use.

I've use fiberglass a few times before but i feel like I'm missing something; the bootlid is metal and the wing is CF, then smoothed out. Then i would have taken a mold to them make the CF bootlid as a single piece of only CF. So not making the mold and then filling that with the CF, is this not just making the boot heavier? For not much structural gain?
I had the same thoughts. I assume this whole process is mainly just for aesthetic purposes.

kommer bli super :) såg dock att din ionstar inte mår så bra. antingen är den redan sönder eller så har du bara för högt tryck vilket leder till att den går sönder ( har själv dödat en sådan ) lampan baktill skall lysa grönt inte rött. den tål max 2 bar , har man högre tryck så spränger man inpellern efter ett tag :) sätt en klocka på den ;)

Hi there. i think that the company that I bought it from dosen't exist anymore. Sorry! But I think if you are going to controll everything at the same time with one App you can easy connect all toghether trough most of the apps that come with todays led kits.

You didn't show how you put them in? Also how did you hookup the electric handles to the locking mechanism? Can you make a video of all of that. I want to put them in my 1957 chevy truck but don't know how to deal with the door locking mechanism. It looks great though.

Hi there. Unfortunately I just have the top side laying, the lower manifold i did cut up to make the GTR adaptation manifold.
Bro the trunk looks awsome. But the speaker and rca cabling ran with power cables isn't a issue if using good rcas and cabling.. 90% of the time noise comes from crappy grounds. If you test for good grounds it's very unlikely to get alt noise
