I originally wanted this channel to be a collection of my walks and what I call my “thinking time” and how I work through any issues within my life/ mental health…hence walking thru.

The Sierra | Day 8 | Forester Pass to Kersarge Pass into Bishop
After descending Forester Pass, Robin was able to catch up with me along with her original tramily member, Sundance Kid.
The three of us camped at Vindette Meadow and packed up the next morning to climb Kersarge Pass at 11,700ft.
The climb itself was pretty easy and snow free, but the descent seemed like it was never ending.
Once in the parking lot we quickly were offered a ride into Independence by a well known trail angel ( who also offered us cold drinks).
Robin had a resupply box at the local motel and we ended up having a rough go at hitching out of there and into Bishop.
Rest & relaxation in Bishop!

The Sierra | Day 7 | Forester Pass Approach & Summit
zhlédnutí 81Před 28 dny
Forester Pass, 13,153 ft…the highest point along the Pacific Crest Trail. The approach had some snow which covered the trail, along with some points on the climb that were covered with snow. Most took the path of scrambling up the rocks bypassing the snow covered portion of the trail. It wasn’t difficult and I opted for no spikes or axe as they really weren’t required. Once at the top the other...
The Sierra | Day 6 | Crabtree Meadows to Tyndall River
zhlédnutí 93Před měsícem
A day of water crossings and facing my biggest fear - water. I guess Mother Nature decided to ease me into it with a water crossing right out of Crabtree meadows and then they progressively started getting more “ angry” as the day went on. The last river crossing of the day is when I put the brakes on testing my fear or was it a front on facing my fear? I say I can’t swim - truth is, in a momen...
The Sierra | Day 5 | Chicken Spring Lake to Crabtree Meadows
zhlédnutí 120Před měsícem
Another great day for hiking and the Sierra views only got better as I made some distance on the way to Crabtree Meadow - the closet spot to camp West of the Ranger Station. Hiking the last stretch to make camp entailed coming down the mountain in which the sky quickly changed as did the temperature with rain turning to hail. This is normal at these altitudes and I quickly picked my way through...
The Sierra | Day 4 | Lone Pine to Chicken Spring Lake
zhlédnutí 58Před měsícem
Back on trail after 2 rest days. Having perfect hiking weather after getting on trail later in the afternoon. The climb up Cottonwood Pass was a great trail and I made it a short day with setting up at Chicken Spring Lake. #pct #hiking #mentalhealthawareness #adventure
Mount Whitney Summit
zhlédnutí 39Před měsícem
Mount Whitney is not part of the PCT. Last year I carried a pic of friend and fallen fellow Canadian veteran, Katrina Blagdon with me in the trail in hopes of getting her to the top of Mount Whitney. That goal never materialized due to the high snow year and an overuse injury that became worst over weeks of pushing it too far- to the point of lameness. This year, my main goal over anything else...
The Sierra | Day 3 | The joys of acid reflux & Lone Pine Town Day
zhlédnutí 42Před měsícem
Day 3- The night before I was kept awake by painful acid reflux that ended up seeing me get sick outside my tent. After that I was able to get some sleep for a little while. I literally pushed through the day with pain and thus not being able to eat - water with electrolytes kept me going and I was never so glad to get to the Cottonwood campground. I was also met there by a young German couple ...
The Sierra | Day 2
zhlédnutí 82Před měsícem
Day 2 started with a brisk morning, a gradual climb that eventually turned into an even bigger climb - typical as the “ C” in PCT is “crest” which relates to walking along the mountain ridges. Downhills are my favorite in which I am literally almost running down them and that day also had some great downhill happening. At the last water point for the day, of course an uphill climb ensued immedi...
The Sierra | Day 1
zhlédnutí 46Před měsícem
On my own and without a tramily, I left Kennedy Meadows and started the hike into the Sierra with my exit resupply point being Lone Pine. A totally different trail than what I experienced last year.
Welcome Back To Kennedy Meadows South!

Ahhhh here I go again! Never thought I would see this place again but is it ever good to be here! The start of the portion I have always been so excited about - The Sierra Nevada 🤗🥰. I am not sure why this is the area that calls to me … but I hear it loudly and as the John Muir quote goes “ The mountains are calling and I must go”. I hear ya John!
Day 5: When in Aqua Dulce - Howl
zhlédnutí 55Před 2 měsíci
Day four on Trail seen us entering Aqua Dulce. Quaint but oh so friendly and a large presence of locals who have been in the film industry. I stayed at The Serenity Oasis for the night while my tramily headed down the trail after a meal together, a little rest and resupply in prep for their next leg where I would eventually be joining back up with them on the trail.
Day 6 : The People You Meet
zhlédnutí 63Před 2 měsíci
I had a meeting and needed reliable internet and cell service so I said goodbye to my tramily and headed to Tehachapi for a few days while they hiked from Aqua Dulce to Hiker Town. It would only be a short separation as my plan was to get a TA to then bring me to Hiker Town to link up with them again for the Aquaduct walk. As they hiked, I took to switching roles as a “ trail angel in training”...
Day 4: A Zero in Acton - Time to Walk Again
zhlédnutí 63Před 2 měsíci
After taking a zero in Acton at the LA RV Park, we started moving North again to our next goal - lunch in Aqua Dulce. Through Vasquez Rocks we went - I ended up taking a route that led me to the parking lot, bypassing the rocks. I had seen them last year and my stomach was urging me on!

Inspiring story. Glad that water crossing went so well. GREAT MUSIC,.
Thank you. That song is - I Got You Honey by Ocie Elliot.
Big Horn mountains , there's a critter that crossed your path - a ground hog maybe...just before you stopped for lunch ❤
Yes it’s a marmot!
There's another Boujee on trail hiking in the northern Sierra now. LifeisBoujee youtube channel.
Yes! I believe there are three of us Boujees’ this year. I refer to myself as the Boujee of 2023 - as I was out here last year 😂
Honor and respect. Good on your for all your efforts and care
Thank you.
Whoot whoot!
Super posting. Great views. Wonderful commentary. And the music was outstanding too. Do you have a title so I can order from iTunes if it is available?

HELLO HOTSHOT!!!!!!
The Serenity Oasis has changed alot since I was there last fall. Farmer John has been busy. Tell him hi from Push.
Looks like you are meeting some great people with interesting stories! 🙌
Absolutely!
Great job Tracey. Are you continuing from here or skipping around?
I have been waiting for almost a week for my tramily to catch up as one is injured. They then may take a week off trail- I won’t be able to do that and will then decide if I should just then restart from where I got off trail last year. Hopefully know more tomorrow. 🤞
Friendly welcome from locals helps.😊❤
It doesn't look easy, you traying hard Tracey.❤

Aren’t they just lovely big goofballs 🤗. This is Gertie.
SOOOO CUTEE❤❤
Thank you - we think she’s pretty cute too ☺️
Wow, what a beautiful area of our country. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it 🤗
What are the mosquitoes and black flies like in Newfoundland?👍👍🦟
It depends…. If you are around the ocean, or if it’s windy, you won’t find them bad, if at all. However… if your in the woods, and bogy areas they will “ eat ya alive” 😅.
Is this where they have the super High and Low tides? ???
No, that would be the Bay of Fundy I believe you are referring to- that can be found in New Brunswick. Still on the East Coast of Canada but on the “ mainland”.
Thank you for sharing! Excelent Video Qualitiy! Greetings from Germany
Thank you 🤗
Are you on IG?
Hi Cheryl- yes! Under the same handle ( @She_walksthru)
Is 'summiting' a word? I don't think so...
Well if I could make a suggestion - hell I am gonna do it anyway - check out Mirriam Webster.com
Really enjoyed this video, my friend, and you do look good on video! Interesting comment on footwear--Solomons destroyed my feet in the Sierras. This was the pre Altra era and they were a new brand for me at KMS as well. I was an early adopter of Altras but something has happened with them lately, they don't fit well and fall apart much too soon. Looks like my new choice will be not Hoka (considered), but Topo! Many other pearls of wisdom in your vid. Is a larger tent now in my future given what your say? I have the original GG 'The One' from 2011? still in good shape, but I wonder if I can handle it's confining nature night after night at my age? Looking forward to your renewed journey NOBO. GK
Hey good to hear from you! Lol - footwear is so funny and going back with the Hokas! One of the girls I will be with loves her Topos!!! Go with the larger tent - lol - your comfort at night will thank you 🤗
Wow!! Gorgeous views, love the shots you got!
Many years ago (before we got married, before anyone had gps) my husband and I did the Long Range Traverse - was so tired at the end, we never did summit Gros Morne. Quite a trip - awful mozzies and black flies but cute curious caribou! Spent the days after just being tourists - amazing area!!
Oh wow that’s so great!
Love NFL…. Love your personality, I think we’d get along grest
Thanks Cheryl 🤗
Wanna race? 😂😂😂
Awesome news ! I like a framed backpack too ! Hokas are nice trail shoes , I wish I had them for the PCT. Taking olives , bacon and hard boiled eggs are a great idea. I’m going to add that to my list . What type of permits did you need to get ?
Cheryl I went with the “ full” PCT permit application - as I wasn’t sure where I wanted to restart. Last year was so wild with a NOBO that turned SOBO that again turned NOBO- lol😵💫
That's a great attitude. Glad to see you're getting back out there and I'm looking forward to seeing your updates. - Laura (Beacon)
Thank you Laura- pretty excited to see all that beauty again.
Yay!🎉
Whoop 🙌
Have a fun year! Happy you’re back!
Thank you Chris 😊
Very difficult, dangerous rocky and snowy trail you did very well!!!
Congrats on what you were able to accomplish on the PCT! Sounds like you have some wonderful trips planned. Happy trails!🌻💛
Thanks so much!
I really enjoyed tagging along watching your adventure. Thank you for your service.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great section. You're doing amazing. Keep trekking. 😊
Going back in three weeks to finish this off.
