The main reason for many is the unreasonable and unbalanced personal income tax rates for high earning singles. I started my second company in Luxembourg and it is difficult to attract senior talent for that reason. I will leave soon for the same reason even if in my view the cost of living is very reasonable. Housing is cheaper than London, Zurich and Paris and grocery much cheaper than most capitals. Luxembourg is the paradise for civil servants, it is not entrepreneurs-oriented. The healthcare system has a serious capacity issue - not practical in case of emergency. And again, they don’t want singles, come married, and even better with kids. The infrastructure for kids is amazing.

Half of it was about how affordable beach houses are and the other half is describing literally thousands of places around the world...I'm from the states and one of the leading causes of bankruptcy is health expenses. The medical skill is also not amazing in every state or even every town. You can get terrible health care and still pay a ton of money here. Also, why even mention the cultural shock and distance in a video like this? That is true in any scenario of a person moving from one country to another - it's truly all relative. Maybe the only relevant data you shared is homicides, but that also happens everywhere and is usually gang-related. Curious how much of that is associated toward innocent bystanders? Again, that happens here in the states. Three people murdered in San Francisco in the last month and I actually knew one of them. But I still love this city. This video is misleading and very subjective in my opinion.

Medellin is nice, but a little steep and slippery for an older person with walking issues like me. My nephew is living there now with his lady. I'll see them later this year up in Playa del Carmen where I stay winters. Long term for me it could be back to Medellin for a longer stay and also CDMX. Mexico City is a very beautiful place. Much better for older people like me. Now if they only could get their water issues solved.
