Weekly Vlog Rewind - We got a new puppy!
Back in February we welcomed home the newest addition to our family - Crumble! So, I decided to film a weekly vlog from the week we brought her home so I can introduce her to you all!
Sorry I haven't vlogged for so long. I've been really struggling with my health this year and have had to sacrifice doing a lot of things I enjoy. But I'm determined to get back to it, so keep your eyes peeled for more videos (and if there's anything you particularly want to see, please let me know!)

Hi Jenny, a really good video - when I clicked on it didn't know u had EDS! Both me and my mum have EDS, Mum has been in a nursing home for 6months but it has been an on going battle to get them to give her enough food that she can tolerate because of her IBS, I have had to supply food for her! She has lost weight because of this and they are on about forcing her to have a PEG against her will - it's all got really scary and I will fight for her rights as best I can. They know that she has eds but refuse to take responsibility for her nutritional needs. Worst part is that even if she had a PEG (which she doesn't need), she would be intolerant to the feed as she already can't tolerate Fortisip.😵💫🤯🤦
I have dyspraxia so totally relate to the clothing hacks. My main hack is around using public transport, specifically buses, as I use a walking stick (balance, mostly, but also dodgy knees). 1/ I wear my sunflower lanyard (every extra person gaining awareness helps, right?) 2/ If I can, I use the priority seats or the fold-down seats, so I have access to the handrails which I can clip my stick to, and space to take off/put on my backpack without accidentally whacking someone with it
Welcome back, great to see you. Re autism, give yourself time with Crumble by yourself, to bond, just in your own time. I'm autistic and ADHD, I have several pets of various ages and get massively overwhelmed every day by my pets/responsibilities with them, but there are nice & calmer times. Your feelings are valid 😊
For the picture frame try using a butter knife - too blunt to do any damage if you slip, but easy to get under & lever up the thingy. You can us the knife to push it back down again once you're finished 💚
My mental condition and the toxic people in my life have caused me to start developing this self-injuring habit. I've been hitting myself in the head and other parts of my body because of my frustration with being unable to think or function properly in a way that is considered non-autistic. I need to consider being in a special needs place of respite away from this toxic environment!
Be even better if you show us examples rather that say it
Great video! Thank you for these :)
I hope you make more autism videos in the future! I only see one in your "Autism" playlist. :(
I hope you are feeling better Jenny...perhaps alternative therapies could help or seeing a Naturopath....
Thank you for sharing your experience very informative and helpful....sorry it has been challeging hope all is getting better ✨️✨️✨️
I'm not trying to sound rude or nasty but why can't you at least cover your hair or fucking shave it off?! I would, if it were mine!!
Jenny, assuming what is normally others being respectful, shouldn't be the same as a pet peeve.
I'm just going to share this. Check into the carnivore diet. This is healing chronic illnesses, eliminating depression, anxiety, brain fog, causing weight loss. It's really amazing. Just do some research on it. I just started it. I use a power chair. I'm getting benefits already. Thanks for the video.
I was on a psychiatric ward for 3 weeks voluntarily in February but honestly it isn’t an environment that helps people with recovery. It was a clinical place, bright lights and you are just left to it. There needs to be an overhaul of the mental health system in this country.
hEDs Zebra here, too. Thank you! 🤩🥰⚜️
I recommend checking out information about neuroplastic pain if you are in pain especially chronic pain with no obvious reason. This is „learned“ pain where after an injury or illness or stress the brain continues to process sensations as threatening ie pain. Gabor Mate covers underlying causes of chronic illness. In the UK you can get an ICE (in case of emergency) pot, you have a sticker to put on your door so emergency responders know you have it and you put it in your fridge (this is an easy to find place in most homes) and you fill in the form with all your info - you could include the location of your hospital bag in case you weren’t able to communicate that in an emergency. I find baby wipes are helpful for when washing is difficult.
those crutches are actually not called forearm crutches! they're called platform crutches. forearm crutches are different
Mental Health Act should be Dismantled
You give out really nice vibes, thankyou!
SUICIDE PREVENTION AND MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS!!!!!!!!: What does your SEVERE DEPRESSION have to do with ANYTHING?!?! I asked a question, the dude gave his view!! You've just tried to make it ALL ABOUT YOU - a very sad way of thinking that will only lead you FURTHER DOWN A DARK PATH!!
CONGRATULATIONS on your first! Well deserved and can't have been easy with all that you have going on! Inspiring!
I shouldn't be in this situation today. I should be in work, study whilst also receiving disability support...none of which I have. I'm unemployed, have suspended studies, and have absolutely nothing. I'll be 30 next year and I'm sat here pennyless with no direction. The University majorly failed me.
I'm a year away from 30. I am stood here terrified. Before coming to this university I had actually applied for an OU course and almost applied for the funding. From day 1, I've felt othered. I worked briefly as an SEN TA previously but I am not getting anything at the moment and my new enhanced DBS that I paid for still hasn't arrived which i require for agency onboarding. They failed ME yet I feel like the failure. It's horrid. I have so many barriers. I was in first year a disabled yet unsupported, estranged and very isolated. I do not have family, friends nor a partner. I worked really hard through horrific and ongoing illness on the modules too but it all went down the drain. Meanwhile the wrongdoers in the class are thriving. I don't drive nor have any conveniences. I am extremely upset today as it took so long and so much effort for to even become a first year student and that is only now in my late 20s. I have wasted the whole year and gained absolutely nothing. I am in a completely unproductive state of despair and cluelessness at present. I wish II knew how to fix all of this. I deserve and desire a high class degree for a much better life. I am not giving up but right now I am yet to decide how to move forward.
The gaslighting is strong with EDS.
People think it’s not painful when they don’t have it.
Is it considered morbid for someone with severe depression and other severe mental health issues to have brutal thoughts of suicide, regardless of how much of a troubled soul that person is? Bitterness - Why It Is a Real Psychological Concern: LIVING WITH SEVERE DEPRESSION AND DAMAGED MENTAL HEALTH [231201-000000]: I'm not sure any amount of professional counselling or mental health therapy will help at this point - even when I start living in a residential mental health care facility and getting involved in suicide prevention programmes after having been referred to a mental health team. I already see myself becoming bitter and psychologically damaged later on in life and then looking back on this time with BITTERNESS ten years from now! What if I end up taking out my severe depression on others and ruining innocent lives by carrying out a mass shooting such as at a mental health hospital?! What if I end up with other severe mental health issues such as schizophrenia and then end up unaliving myself in the most brutal way as a result of not being able to cope with life?! For someone like me, life is unpleasant and not worth living!
The police just mentioned that the victim's cause of death was ruled as suicide by multiple self-inflicted stab wounds to their neck as a result of severe mental health issues!! What do you mean multiple self-inflicted stab wounds?!?! You can't be saying stuff like that without even listening!! You clearly haven't been listening - neither has ANYBODY ELSE for that matter!!
It's as if I'm TALKING TO MYSELF rather than the fucking other person, and they might as well be speaking a different language to me!!
yas
That's a great video. I was hoping that more people would have watched and commented. My personal favourite misconception is that we all have a lot of money. I do not have a lot of money. The medical supplies that I need to buy for myself cost nearly $200 a month. Than I need to spend $200 on groceries that would have cost me $150 8 years ago before a certain leader became Prime Minister. I'm posting from Canada.
Have they gotten rid of Genie Passes because I know they completely redid the accessibility system like the Green Pass is now Priority Card and Orange Pass is now the Access Card. Thank goodness they made it to colour system Ve/Green you don’t need a campion to go on rides and etc good for me who is Autistic but quite independent.
I diagnosed last December for the first weeks I thought great things all make sense now...but since then I have been an emotional wreck getting my head around it.
Damn, electronic or left hand accelarator would have helped so much as would a swivel seat. Too late now though :(
The WAV deposit is just so expensice and my friend has found the motability charity is so so hard to navigate, she has now reached her extension limit,so she is not sure what to after this extension.
it might be in your head what you see on this point it is essential the carer explains the trespass on your property ?
and what public scrutiny is their and does that mean i can launder money by sectooning some1 that has no idea about other than every one as new cars new stuff like money is falling out the sky ??
You got some really cool stuff. Might have to get some of it for myself! Don’t save the wax melts until next christmas! I coukdn’t do it. I’d be reliving christmas everyday!! Xx
Hello Jenny, I have a couple of jar openers. I bought 1 just like the one You have at Walmart here in the US for lessvthan $5.00. The 2nd one that I have is simply a little tool that breaks the pressure on jars that are sealed. I have had it for a number of years. You just put the lip under the jar lid and pull up. It realeases the suction. I have found that both are brillian. I use a transfer bath chair, be ause my shower is inside of my large garden tub. I have MS and don't have the balance to step in and over the 12 inch collar around the tub. I use a 4 point walker right now as I am recovering from knee replacement surgery. But I prefer my rolator as it can carry my purse and has the bonus of having a place to sit if I get tired while shopping. I use an electric cart at stores when I can find them, but there never seems to be enough of them to go around. I never question anyone 's right to use them because I understand about invisible disability issues having MS. I really enjoyed Your video & I did subscribe to it.
You could start a wheelchair kofi account ❤
the syste is rigged why do they have 3 home offices very weird.
YOU ARE NOT SHALLOW !!! You are a lovely person for taking the time and trouble to help us all & filling in the answers we needed !! I'm in receipt of Pip so I'm definitely going to follow it through after listening to you! Thank you and good luck for the future !!
LOVE ur colourful "Harlequin" Jacket Jenny
Thank you! xx
I have a stool and rolling stool so I can sit and do dishes and cook at the stove
That sounds like a really good idea! I hope you find it helpful x
I am in a wheelchair as well and about 5 times now an able-bodied person is using the wheelchair toilet to go to the toilet! How damn rude is that?!
It's definitely frustrating, although I won't usually say anything in case they've got an invisible disability that I can't see x
@@JennyCole1988 Yeah I have learned to just turn around and wheel away and just carry on with my day or even quickly come up with something comedic that makes them realize I am not down about my wheelchair.
Did anybody have issues with gum recession? I’ve been convinced to do invisilines by my doctors to straighten my bite- gums seem to be receding a bit- I’m in my 50s, not sure if this is part of the issue.
I don't think it's something I noticed when I did it, but definitely worth talking to your Dentist about if it's concerning you, as I have heard of it happening before x
Thanks you, Jenny, for telling your story. I was diagnosed a year ago today and am still adjusting to my newfound self knowledge and living as the "real me". Your story is very similar to mine. As I'm in my early 60s now I had quite a bit of grieving to do about the life I didn't get when I was younger and the adult milestones I never reached. However, I was very happy to receive my diagnosis as it gave me the explanation for why I struggled so hard throughout my life and I can now live the remainder of my life with greater self acceptance. Embrace your diagnosis and may you thrive as a wonderful autistic young woman.
Thank you for watching and listening! Congratulations on your diagnosis! I can definitely relate to still adjusting to living like the real you. Gosh yes I can imagine it must be even harder to get a diagnosis at an older age, as like you say you do have to grieve for the life you missed out on when you didn't have the diagnosis. I'm glad you were happy to receive your diagnosis though and that it's helped to explain your struggles. Thank you - I'm definitely trying to embrace my diagnosis (easier said than done at times!) as hopefully it can only be a positive thing having that knowledge xx
Where is your fleece from?
It's from Next (the Loungewear section) but I got it a few months ago, so I'm not sure if they still sell it xx
Excellent fleece! ❤
Thank you! xx
Really good ideas - there’s a few I will adopt right away. Thanks for putting this together.
I'm so glad you found it helpful! xx
That’s kind of your friends and family to get you nice gifts I got a gonk some make up. A necklace some granola bars a T-shirt a dove body wash and a tote bag with a purse clutch bag in black with a little teddy key ring on it. and scrunchie. And everyone was so kind to me wishing you a very happy 2024 and I hope you had a wonderful Christmas take care and wishing you the best thank you for sharing god bless. X🙏❤🎉
It was really kind of them - I feel very lucky and grateful. It sounds like you got some lovely things too. I hope you had a lovely Christmas and that this year will be a good one for you :) xx
You got some lovely stuff. I especially like the Winnie the Pooh oodie. I’m crazy on Disney too, especially Winnie the Pooh. I also like Percy Pig stuff. I’ve got a Percy onesie & cushion. I love your jumper. So lovely & bright. Do you know where it’s from? How is your Gastroparesis lately? Take care. x
Thank you I was definitely spoilt and feel very grateful! The Winnie the Pooh Oodie is definitely one of my favourites! We sound very similar if you like Disney and Percy Pig too! Thank you so much - my jumper was from Next, but I got it a few months ago, so I'm not sure if they're still selling it now. My Gastroparesis is much the same really - not the worst it's been, but not the best either. Having trouble with being sick more, which isn't much fun. But just taking each day as it comes. I hope yours isn't giving you too much trouble xx
