Soup is a heterogeneous mixture (a mixture that can be separated like sandwiches, salads etc.) The broth by itself is a drink, the chunks by themselves are foods, however, if you mix the 2 ingredients together you create soup. Using this logic we can conclude that soup can be eaten and drank. Because these types of food combos can be both a drink and a food, we just choose one of the options. Yes, soup can technically be a drink however, we chose for it to be a food since we had to choose one option which is the reason why soup is considered a food. CASE CLOSED
