The best of both worlds, the Ripster combines classic styling with modern technical design features, making it the ultimate performance single fin! It also creates trim speed and lift down the line, beating sections like you won't believe! Rails: The rails are down hard in the tail, th...

The Retro Fish is an updated version of a timeless classic. Taping 1\16 inch Tig welding wire rod to your door skin is great for seeing and determining shapes too if you go to a local welding shop they will probably just give you a couple they are 36 inches long they don't stay curved they spring back to straight 🤙
Great tip. Thanks Don!
I might be wrong but the plywood shape is the template, right? I’ll love to know how to build that, you know, the right measures and so
Yes, the wood shape is the template. It's a thin wood called door skin, which is used to create doors. It's Bill's favorite material to make templates out of. As for the measurements, that's up to you (the shaper) to decide what measurements you're going for and what shape you want to create. There's no right answer there!
@@stewartsurfboards4837 thanks, well maybe the right answer will be, “once you keep doing surfboards for many years you will know how to do a template to build a great surfboard ” and I got it, thanks again for share video.
Jimmy fuller taught me the skill saw technique.
One of the most genuine guys in surfing, always willing to pass on the knowledge. 🙏

I would love to see bills version of a mini simons

Do you make this In a 7’6-7’10
Yes, we stock them up to 7'6". Here's a link to check out our current available stock... stewartsurfboards.com/collections/wild-bill If you wanted one bigger than 7'6" we can make that as a custom order.
the skill saw was tho only way
Bill, it would interesting to see how to measure a board for making a digitized version for the CNC Machine
Thanks for the request. We're always looking for ideas for new content, what do people wanna hear, ya know? But honestly not an expert in the creating digitized boards department. We shape our originals by hand and then if they're magic, we have them professionally scanned for the machine.
@@stewartsurfboards4837 Bill, that’s what I’m on about. How to scan for the shaping machine. 48 year hand shaper here. I used to polish for Tony Delano, Star Glassing, Browns fields, back in the 80s……. Is he still around?
Ten foot Hawaiian or ten foot on the face ?????????????
Oh, calling us out! Either way you measure it, this board can handle it.
@@stewartsurfboards4837 I left an RPM there to sell so that I can purchase the WB.
Don't need this board, but buying it anyway because this is the best ad ever lmao.

Great video 🤣🙂
Hi Bill please i Ned some information adrees that i ned to by some parts to my planer Skill 100,, site or store, thanks,,, aloha Brasil
I'm interested in this board, I am 3 years into learning and surf at sano. ive been riding a 10' infinity and it's old and beat up. I'm 6'2" 215 lbs, thinking about the 10' 24"wide or would the 10" 6" be a better fit. I'm thinking about coming out in 2 weeks. I live in vegas and go to sano once or twice a month.
Love this board! I’m 160 and this felt perfect🤙
Great Stories Bill!! Can’t wait to see you again soon at your shop (you’re a Buffett in your own Stewart way)
Thanks Luis! Looking forward to seeing you in the shop!

Stewart Surf Sled- what a concept ! Pass out the helmets and keep the party waves coming, Bill.
Great tribute to a man who wrote the soundtrack of our lives, as we were all living it -- on the beach over 50 years ago ! And he kept the stoke alive ever after. Jimmy was that special man that squeezed all the juice out of life, served it up to us in a bottomless Margarita, along with an appropriate song, and a planeload of memories ! He really was the Jolly Mon -king of oceanic folklore and the troubadour of "tropical country". Thanks for sharing this tribute Bill. Much Aloha Spirit here.

Nice board rack there Bill🎹
Wow.
So good, Bill! Love the images as well...
I previously had an 9'6" LSP2 about 20 years ago... Loved it i knee paddled it into waves with ease. I wasnt a big guy (150lbs) that model was designed for bigger guys. Im still not BIG but 30 lbs heavier than 20 years ago (luckily its mostly muscle mass) Ive been thinking about the Redline 11 for my local spot Kahalu'u on the Big Island. Im thinkinh a 26" wide 3 1/4" or 3 1/8" thick. Im 5'9" 183lbs and always knee paddle. Do you have venders or ship to Kona?
Hi Mike, thanks for reaching out! The dimensions you're talking about should be plenty big for a guy your size to knee paddle. The best thing to do is call our shop -- 949-492-1085 -- and ask for the board room. Our staff is super knowledgeable and can work out all the details on exactly which board is right for you. And, yes, we can ship via air cargo to be picked up at the airport on the Big Island.
Awsesome tribute Bill! How fortunate you were to be Jimmy's good friend. He was truly an absolutely amazing human being and I still can't believe he's gone.
Thanks Rick! I know, such a huge loss. 😢
Great stories and tribute to really nice and talented person. When I heard he passed, the first thing I thought of; are his boards still being stored up in the rafters of the shop? The only thing better would've been if you had a margarita on the table instead of a glass of wine.
Thanks! True, it shoulda been a margarita!
Love it
Thanks!
what a beautiful tribute Bill. I was a big fan of Jimmy. I also have 3 of your boards which I love and surf daily.
Thanks! Hope the boards are bringing you as much joy as Jimmy brought to everyone around him.
Thank you very much for this video - inherited my dad's VL and you helped me sort a sticky trigger/no air problem. Would have lost that tiny little gasket when I was taking apart the air valve assembly had I not seen you putting it in there. Cheers!
Looking between this one and a Ripster. Is the rocker similar to the Ripster on this new board? I generally surf a slower crumbly wave.
The nose rocker is similar to the Ripster. The tail is more like the Tipster -- dramatic rocker! The Bird sits right in between our Tipster and Ripster models -- solid hold in the tail for endless noserides with the hard edges off the tail and down-turned rails like the Ripster for more speed and maneuverability.
@@stewartsurfboards4837 thanks y’all!
Well that explains why I got and hated my 10'3" Tipster. It was SO SLOW I could barely get into waves. And once I did, I had no control. It was a nice board to look at though...
Yeah, the Tipster is an old-school classic log. Definitely not for everyone, but if you're into slow cruising and endless noserides it's super fun. Sounds like our Ripster or the new Bird would be more up your alley.
How do you do a ding repair on a gloss coat to stay glossy?
Love your tipster model, need a new board. This might be the one
If you love the Tipster, you'll be obsessed with this one! It noserides great AND is more responsive off the tail.
Hey Bill. glad to see your reply from a month ago, hope you are doing well. I have a 9' nose rider #89091 great board. not sure what the numbers mean I think it's made in 1989, #91. We are about the same age, are you still surfing? I guess you retired not to long ago, now you have more time. I would like to congratulate you on a lifelong pursuit of excellence, good job. Have fun, maybe I'll see you out there.
