I'm not sure why there isn't much support now for the Z6ii, now that the later models are out. I have two of them with 6 of their Z lenses. I shoot paid gigs and events, and sometimes in lowish light and I find the AFC works well enough. I barely miss any images for focus, even when taking over a thousand images at an event (they normally involve people dancing and moving quickly). The images are truly beautiful and I do daylight-balanced, HHS, TTL, fill-flash. The z6ii was a camera that Nikon got almost good enough, but for me it is close enough. The ZF is $3,500 per body, so for me to swap over there is 7K for two bodies (here in Australia). For the Z6iii, they are $4,5000 per body, so there is 9K for me to change over. These old models aren't worth much for resale, so it would cost me a motza to change over. Probably what I'm saying is I scabbed it with Fuji for ten years, so when I finally embraced my nikons two years ago it was like night and day. It's great to finally be with a great system.

I saw this review last night, I had already ordered the TTArtisan lens last week (since it was cheap) and was surprised how different each reviewer rated these two lenses during their comparisons. The added benefit of being usable on a full frame sensor as well surprises me, and I now at least know that I'd have something to shoot with if I ever decide to switch to a full frame body in the future from my Z30. Thank you for testing that and mentioning it in your video!

Hi bud! Great video. Did you have any issues with PD on the FX Lion? I am in conversation with both FX Lion and Nikon trying to figure out an issue. I can plug my Z8 into a Mac and the Z8 will show the PD icon and of course charge while on. If I plug the FX Lion into the Z8, I get nothing. The readout on the FX Lion will bounce around (0, 5v, 14v, 13.1v, etc at random numbers) repeatedly. I have two of the FX Lion (Nano Two) and have tried both with the same result. They worked fine for PD on my Z6ii. Just thought I'd ask since it looks like you tested them on your Z8. Thanks!

Instead of saying that the better product should be mode expensive the correct way to say it should be that the worse product should lower pricing...

loved the video! i just received the ttartisan lens for my sony a6000 and found it to be way sharper than it appears on your samples, could it just be better AF optimization for sony?

that explains why the ttartisan is massive, the viltrox reminds me of the sigma 56mm, both are incredibly impossibily compact and that's what i love about them, they are made for apsc first and foremost

I think that the Lunchbox III was a bad design choice . Now they block the air vent of the atomos just like the normal ssd brackets . No reason in getting it at all ! They should have just redesigned the Lunchbox II and make it extend slightly more so that it can accept the 4tb 870 evo or even the crucial ones and done ! The whole meaning of having the Lunchbox was that it helps prevent overheating and now they did a really bad design choice .

Love the 40mm f/2 and 85 1.8s combo for my portrait work.

Imagine the image quality on the D500 when using DXO Pure RAW. If you process the D500 keepers thru Pure RAW first, it might be indistinguishable on all levels with the Z9. Hmmmm.

Is there any way to attach the top handle to the side as a side handle? Would love to avoid having to buy two handles and like the top handle better and would like to reuse it as a side handle if possible. Would appreciate if you can check how that could be done?

My mum has a D5200, and I have a D3300 and a D750. All three of these cameras came out 2013 to 2014 and all have the issue you describe where colours are shifted at high ISO. It's all in the red channel. If you pull back the red channel and denoise they all produce decent 6x4s.

Why do you not recommend the light dome?

I had the Zf but returned it. Even with the small rough grip , using the 50mm z lens became uncomfortable when shooting at certain angles. Some of the photos I took in low light had really bad noise at the bottom left and right corners of the photos. There was an odd internal movement I noticed. For those who own a zf, hold the camera vertically up then turn vertically down. Do you notice as if something is moving back forth internally? Because I can notice it a lot with the zf I had. I prefer the ergonomics (z6ii) over AF accuracy (Zf)

Great simple factual and to the points. Don't know why I watched this as am a happy long time user of D750 and at 77 years of age the camera may just see me thru 😀, but good to see it seems to perform, with its own quirks, in the the same race as more modern technology. As committed to glass as I am it would be an expensive job for me to change. But nonetheless enjoyed your approach to the comparison, one of the best 👍

I have a D500. I was thinking about getting a Z9 or maybe a Z8. I don’t do video and just photos. Also, burst mode doesn’t really matter to me. I have the battery grip on my D500, so size isn’t an issue. I think I’ll just keep the D500 for now. Maybe I’ll have both. Anyway, I appreciate your video.

Nikon Zf was the first Nikon I was ever interested in. Got it in October last year and still have it. Great camera! Especially for shooting with manual focus lenses or those smaller affordable Viltrox lenses which are a steal.

Great video! Quick couple of questions: Is the Nisi Filter you're using for this the 67mm size one? So that just screws into the Neewer 67mm plate that's included - right? The second question is about the use of these circular filters in a matte box. I have an iPhone 15 pro max and was interested in getting a VND filter, specifically the Nisi you have but I also want to be able to use this filter in a matte box (if possible). Do you know if the Nisi True Colour VNDs can be mounted in a matte box system by Smallrig or others? I do both photography and videography so I need the versatility to be able to use circular photos on my camera directly OR mounted into a matte box without needing to buy special drop in filters that slide into a matte box. The Nisi looks great as its True Colour and I can put them on a camera lens directly but what about with the use of a matte box? Any thoughts with that? The final thing is that there are True Colour VND's by Neewer now and K&F Concept. Have you used it and do you think it would be comparable to the Nisi but being able to save money cause they are cheaper? Thank you
