My husband and I were born in '80 and '79 respectively, so grew up with the classic shorts. We both recently watched this and found it wholly enjoyable. Very few misses for us. I don't feel it's 100% fair to compare the two. They're two fundamentally different shows written for different audiences for two different purposes.

The Huntsman doesn't spare Snow White because she's pretty, he spares her because she is so young, kind, and innocent.

I feel the same way, Bambi was not a big part of my childhood like Snow White, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Alice In Wonderland, Beauty And The Beast, and Hunchback of Notre Dame but I still like and respect Bambi rather than watch it more than once.

I have no clue if any of these comments are actually real or satire, so I’ll just say that this review made me laugh. And the Jamaican and Minnesota jokes were pretty good, too. And I do get it: Although the morals and such haven’t aged well today, it must’ve been at least cool for fans of the series when it released.

My favourite part of the movie is when Roddy bumps into a crazy rat that rambles how they're all doomed, then Roddy asks a nearby police officer to protect him from the lunatic,but it turns out that they are chums and before going on his merry way of rambling the rat tells the officer the following about Roddy "You better watch yourself with this one. He's a bit of a looney." And Roddy just says "Are you kidding me?".

The problem I have with this movie and it's to do with the scene Doug pointed out, is that Shrek's entire decision about wishing he could go back in time before rescuing Fiona and ends up living in an alternate universe where he doesn't exist as he makes a deal with Rumpelstiltskin, taking influence off the plot of "It's a Wonderful Life", is that this contradicts entirely with what his arc was in the first film about wishing he were accepted as the person o nice being he was underneath his appearance and not a horrible, ugly monster people wanted to flee or kill. True, he did enjoy scaring people at first but it was his whole coping mechanism as he opens up to Donkey about it later. The way he goes to the length of wishing he went back in time just doesn't work for me and for that reason I actually like this movie even less than the third. The third Shrek movie, while bad, did have some good moments in it I found interesting and it's also interesting how that was a lot more connected with and served as a direct sequel to the events of Shrek 2 but just done in a clumsy manner with less laughs, less interesting new characters which still could be funny at times and very poorly timed musical choices. The fourth sort of connects going back in time with the first film but adds in a whole new array of characters and a new villain which I do appreciate and a completely different backstory for Fiona had she never been rescued and Rumpelstiltskin would have ruled by getting his way like a demon, and Fiona retains being an ogre working with an ogre community we never saw in the other movies though I don't know what the deal is with her never being human as established in the first film by daylight which was before Shrek ever came along so I don't understand that either.

You want to be a farmer here’s a couple of acres. Two balls couple of acres after he kicked them into his brain 😅I really enjoy watching Critic but I want a redo on this review. It’s supposed to be an over top action movie parody inside an over the top action movie parody. It’s supposed to be stupid and cliche. The action bits are pretty cool and Benedict’s eye was explosive . Earlier in the movie he left one at Jacks ex-wives house. “Vengeance is mine “ KABOOM!!!! “ The hard rock the corny puns…this is happening “ Nick Houdini wasn’t lying” The movie makes it painfully aware how dumb it is and it makes it that much more entertaining to watch. I’d put it in the same category as The Scary Movie series not Terminator or Mad max. I seen this when I was a kid so growing up with it I hold it a little higher then maybe it should be but it’s still very good in my opinion.
