With violent anti-war protests at home and discipline problems on US bases, President Nixon promises to withdraw American troops from the Vietnam War. But that doesn’t mean an end to the fighting. As US troop numbers drop, the war expands across borders and in the air as more weapons are pumped into the South

    The comparison is quite simple. Vietcong were defendint their democratically elected government, while U.S. troops were there to impose the will of a few capitalists on everyone. The morally righteous side won, despite insane differences in equipment and manpower. It was the beginning of the end of the American Empire - a wait that has been far too long.

    Main reason was US left the South Republic Vietnam because US government was blind not to foresee how danger was posted from China, Soviet and North Vietnamese communist regime after 1970S and US was greedy to dream shaking hands with China in order to get in the China's huge market as president Mao and premier Chu An Lai promised to Henry Kissinger along his US government. Second reasons: US government and US GIs fought half-halfheartedly in Vietnam war. Third reasons: US private and public media misled American people on Vietnam war and twisted news on The South Republic Vietnam's government and its army.

    The Germans couldn't win a war of attrition - especially not against the USSR. Stalin had no problem throwing millions of people into the battle. The Germans couldn't come close to making up such losses.

    • @MarMar-nq9ii
      @MarMar-nq9ii Před 15 hodinami

      To throw millions of people into battle, you need to have these millions. Stalin did not have these millions. In reality, there were several times more people under Hitler's control than under Stalin's control. - The whole of Europe and all its resources. But only Hitler could not rationally and effectively use his resources, but Stalin could.

    The Chinese side started this conflict as far as I know. What the Japanese did is called self-defense / self-preservation. BTW, there was NO Imperial Japanese Army combat unit in the Shanghai area when the Chinese attacked ( only about 3,000 Japanese Marines stationing inside the Shanghai International Settlement legally). Other nations such as France, UK, and the US also stationed troops inside the SIS according to the Treaty of Boxer Protocol 1901. Just like what the Israeli Defense Force ( IDF ) is doing in Gaza today - Israel absolutely has the right to defend itself. It really depends on which side you are with. Just my 2 cents.

    Do you know why the Viet Minh had artillery at Dien Bien Phu? Because the Vietnamese army brought all the artillery here, completely with bare hands. No helicopters, no trucks, no tanks. All with bare hands. The Vietnamese army created roads through the mountains specifically for pulling artillery into Dien Bien Phu. They pulled the 2.4-ton cannons with bare hands and ropes up 40-degree slopes. Each cannon required 50, even 100 people to pull it. A total of at least 24 105mm M2A1 howitzers entered the battlefield in this way along with many 37mm M1939 (61-K) guns.
