    A few tips that I did before inverting: a.) Fly sideways b.) Fly backwards c.) Fly "other" sideways. Always fly in a square pattern, doing one direction CW or CCW first. Then learn other direction. Never "mix" or just "free fly" always have a flight plan and do not deviate. You may and I have, then you will experience a "brain glitch" and learn from that. Btw, at this point you would have "automatically" learned how to do nose down and tail down funnel turns, because it's just really sideways flying. At this point is when I started to work on my invert on the field. Also, at this point I have mastered invert on the simulator and all the orientations inverted already Now, just a matter of going for it on the field.

Your tips for how to practice alone answering alot of questions and frustrations I've had. Greatly appreciate this content. (Where I live, there's no clubs or friends to learn from/with. Having learned piro flips it helped save me a re-kit once. Some 10 years or more ago i was flying at an event in cincy on a really really windy day. I pulled the heli nose up to a stall and then hit max piro rate cause that always sounds so cool, and let it fall for a bit but as it got lower my fury90 decided to toss the entire tail case into orbit. The heli was still basically knife edge piro'ing like mad and falling. I could hear people behind me saying oh thats gonna be a re-kit (aka crash/complete loss)... i hit hold, and started piroing the cyclic and was able to level it out even though the heli still hadnt fully stopped rotating yet due to no tailcase. At that point it was just an auto like normal. When it touched down everyone shouted like i just scored a touchdown at the superbowl. Good times.

    Mid/late 80s blades I used were maple center lines and balsa edges. Maple was used to make attachment strong, balsa made blade lighter. And you got a sheet of thin wrap to put over it. FYI Manned helicopter blades use gas and a piston inside for CG balance. Would be cool to see that implemented in a model.

    Love your videos good tutorials indepth one thing that has helped me big time is have a heli like the goosky s1 over a blade mcpx bl2 what a difference it makes to have a machine that is so dialed in compared to blade micro . The reviews dont do a goosky or m1 justice till u fly it .

    Some great stuff, some things……not so much. Go small electric for the 1st 3d Heli, nitrogen is a lot of work and imho the 1st thing is get competent in basic flying. Then get a 200+ nitro or electric. @7:54 I’m glad you went to the real basics of short 10-30 second hovers to start with. I quit flying for several years and am back with a Goosky S2. It is baby steps and am loving it. Thanks for the video series.

    These videos are Excellent. I have been flying RC planes since HS, flying Helios for the last 15-20 years. Never intense, mostly forward flight like a plane. I am practicing your vid 1 constantly but it is tough, feels like I am not making much progress. I have most success flying behind the helicopter on the flight sim. Is that ok to train?

    • @BertKammerer
      @BertKammerer Před 9 měsíci

      Thank you for the kind comments. Practicing in the sim is very useful, but generally because it is such as "sterile" environment, I like to crank the wind up and practice with a 10 mph wind for a few minutes, then switch the wind direction completely and keep practicing the same maneuver you're focusing on, this teaches you corrections. Otherwise the sim feels to synthetic, but for sure it will help you develop the muscle memory.

    If you think about it, the "stirring motion" works in all conditions, whatever direction (CW or CCW) . You can very easily do upside-up pirouetting figure 8 without stopping stirring the stick (same for upside down). Of course, the rate of the stirring and the moment where you make the stick corrections change when you go from the CW part of the figure 8 to CCW part of the figure 8.

    Hello I'm a old heli flybared pilot. Going to flybarless in 2023 since more than 12 years never had any rc helis anymore. So my radio is the 10C ...in my opinion back in 2010 this radio is a rock for medium Futaba pricey radio. But watching your video for flybarless seems like my 10C radio is game over. So would you mind to share or let me know if I still be able or not to use my Fut 10C radio for setting and flying flybarless rc heli? Please let me know or should I buy the 8Fg Super radio to fly the flybarless? Thanks bro

    • @BertKammerer
      @BertKammerer Před 11 měsíci

      Depends on the size of the helicopter, blades, etc., it is a "feel" thing. Generally can be as little as 1-2 degrees and as much as 4-5 degrees. After a lot of practice you can tell when the blades are maintaining speed or slowing down, a quick reaction to add more negative usually speeds them back up provided you have altitude and a large enough helicopter. Auto rotations are always recommended on larger helis to start, at least 600 or larger.
