    Great layout, beautiful landscape and nice trains - subscribed. I always enjoy when someone is doing N scale, it seems to be mainly H0 these days on YT. I recently started a tiny switching layout in N scale - let's see how this goes.

      thanks a lot ! glad you liked it. Wow Enola yard , that must have been inspiring. You could build a small version and have it as a shadow yard for your trains. N really gives you the chance to build large in a small space. Good luck with your new layout !

    Very nice!! What radius are you using for the curves? I’m packing up my HO trains and going N scale. My son has an around the room shelf layout in his room. I’m trying to get an idea of radiuses for Nscale. I’ve always been HO until now.

    Great layout of one of my 3 most favorite Eastern United States railroads. If I were living in Northeastern Pennsylvania, I would model the Erie Lackawanna, Lehigh Valley where 7 members of my family worked for and the Delaware & Hudson and it would focus around the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area where I have seen freight trains of my 3 favorite Eastern U.S. railroads.

    • @HenrikSweden1
      @HenrikSweden1 Před rokem

      thanks ! i mainly used woodland scenics plastic stems, there are several kits with only stems, that i covered with Heikis flor. I used the stems in Ho scale to get bigger trees. The second method was the traditional way where i twinned metal thread into stems and branches. Also covered with Heikis Flor. Used contact adhesive and acrylic paint. I like how the trees got very transparent. You could also use woodlands clump material. Heikis flor is great also for bushes and smaller under vegetation. glad you liked it.

    I grew up in Scranton. One of my Dad’s best friends was Robert Downing. He was a manager at Erie Lackawanna, and later Conrail. I’ve been in the Scranton Station before it was a hotel and have visited the new museum dozens of times at Steam Town. My dream is to model the yard there along Lackawanna Avenue where my family’s business, Matthews Brothers Wholesale Drug Store resided for over 150 years! The Starrucca Viaduct is one of my favorites. Strong rail heritage. I’d love to model under ground lines below the yard showing the mining below. Amazing history there. Gorgeous layout! Congrats.

    I really Like this RR, It doesn't look like your first build that's for sure! I wanted to share a great book for anyone who wants to build a model RR. If you have a basement one bedroom, or a single car garage or just an empty wall in an apartment you can start to build your "dream" RR. I am working on 2 separate RRs. The N scale one is from a book by Robert Schleicher called the best of model railroading magazines track plans. Using his advice I built an HO scale plan In N scale. Completely modular 16' x 5 ft 4 " On The mainlines It has almost 30 inch radius, It easily handles 50 or 60 car trains with a DPU. I built my HO RR Using his modular technique also, Winding around my basement with 3 ft aisles. The Idea is you can move the RR if you want. So you don't have to wait to start building. I started with one 4 x 2 module and tried to get my wife interested, no luck there. But I did build a pretty neat 24 x 30 ft RR in the basement. He explains In the book how to build master modules so you can turn and hide trains. My favorite master module is The Angelica Yard. I am working on a version of his plan for that. Using # 8 crossovers , trains cruise right through. Just remember if you want to model modern stuff(89') use big radius .I just want to recommend This book!!

      Thanks ! glad you liked it. This is my 4th layout but the first in N scale. I got tired of the short trains in Ho scale, that i could run i my spare bedroom, so i decided to try the smaller n scale. And the trains i could run sure got longer. Double track and dogbone. I am going to try to find your book. Sounds very interesting and so does your layouts.

    I want to build the line between Binghamton and Suffern, NY in Trainz on a merged DEM route I have. That was the ex-Erie line. Now, it's NYS&W, NS, NJT and Metro-North. Freight only west of Port Jervis, NY. Trainz is a simulator on computer made by N3V formerly Auran of Australia. There is a lot of North American content for it. They keep making newer versions every few years. Eventually I want the route to go to Hoboken, NJ.

    Absolutely beautiful layout Henrik!! I'm a long time HO scale EL modeler, nothing against N scale lol , but I'm so impressed with your N scale efforts capturing the EL. I grew up along the EL main line in Orange County, NY during the late 60's & up until C rail (thumbs down to crappy rail). I have all those track side memories imprinted in my mind and finally carrying that into my new layout. Building a number of modules along the NY division from SF tower in Suffern, NY/ Hillburn yards (Mahwah Ford assembly plant) up to NJ interlocking tower. Following the Ramapo River & Valley that the main went thru some of the best scenery in NY State. Thanks for sharing!! Please up date when you can. - Alex

The old Ho layout was built with some scenes from Hoboken and N J. I would love to build a new layout and include a very compressed Hoboken station and some rail ferry action. Maybe in the future.
