      Remember the 1 hour rule and cut back if pain is increased for more than one hour or it begins to swell. If it is painful, check with your medical provider about continuing, and be sure you are cleared for exercise by them.

    Hello, I am not sure about the difference between the thumb a duction and the thumb extension. I have reviewed the video many times and I’m not seeing the difference. Also on the wrist extension exercise is it OK if I have my arm resting on the edge of a table? If I try holding my arm up in the air like you are I end up bending my whole arm instead of just my wrist.

    • @LaBordeTherapy
      @LaBordeTherapy Před 20 dny

      yes, it is best to rest your arm on the edge of the table Thumb Extension: Place the palm of your hand flat on a table. Then stretch your thumb out, or open as wide as you can while keeping your hand and thumb flat on the table. The goal would be to form and "L" with your thumb and index finger. Thumb Abduction: Similar to above , but you do not keep your hand flat on a table. Pull your thumb away from the palm of your hand with the same goal, to make an "L" with your thumb and index finger.

    From my understanding of acupuncture the needles are going into the meridians of the body. Dry needling goes into the muscles that are painful and in the trigger points of the painful muscle. The two are similar but some of the meridians of the body are nowhere near the painful muscle. This muscle is treated directly by dry needling and can be done with or without electrical stimulation. For example there is a headache point in the foot that acupuncturists use for headache pain while dry needling goes into the muscles of the neck specifically the sub-occipital muscles that relieve the headache along with cervical manipulation to ensure normal vertebral alignment, so the headache will not return. A physical therapists would also add other techniques such as posture correction exercises to maintain benefits of the dry needling. Philip Renoux, Physical Therapist

    My husband has lymphedema and the last 2-3 doctors really made thing's worse. Neither doctors pride would allow them to admit they were wrong. They had him taking diuretics even after they diagnosed him with lymphedema and he has been dor over 2yrs now... It's made thing's way worse and now his body is addicted to them & retains way more water if he tries to stop them. He also gave him neproxan & ibuprofen and upped the dosage of the diuretics. We're actively working to correct what they've done. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

      Try finding an Occupational or Physical Therapist that specializes in treatment of Lymphedema. They can work along with your physician to help you. This is a newer field, so many physicians do not know about this. Google this to find someone in your area.

    The last round of vertigo that I had a couple of weeks ago, according to your Video was The neuritis or labyrinthitis. I was dizzy and had dry heaves. I went to emerge, and the doctor did the Epley maneuver, but really had no affect. She prescribed anti-nausea medication and about a day later it finally spontaneously went away. I still have some dizziness but I’m very. careful. Going to Physio in about a week. Thank you your video was very informative.

    • @LaBordeTherapy
      @LaBordeTherapy Před rokem

      Dora, Thank you for your feedback. If it is neuritis/labyrinthitis then there isn’t much you can do treatment wise the first 24 hrs. Best to take anti nausea meds and rest. After 24 hrs the body will demonstrate some compensation to the symptoms and function will return with increase in dizziness with positional changes to the head. Getting evaluated by a physio is a good idea so they can help you to decrease the rest of the symptoms until the cause of the vertigo goes away. Chase Webre OTR/CHT

    I love dry needling, it helped with my shoulder blades. But I had to stop because the out of pocket cost was just to much for my wallet! $70.00 for 10 minutes, and $280 for 4 sessions of 10 minutes. Not worth it to me and costly! I hear other Therapy places charge $135.00 for evaluation, and $50.00 for treatment which last apprx. 20 minutes (I looked around) If the price is reasonable in 2023, I may go for this treatment for $135 Eval. and then the $50 bucks.

    I can't thank you enough. These exercises are more inclusive and thoroughly explained than others I have found online, and they have enabled me to increase my wrist extension and rotation for the first time. I had been worried that I would never be able to rotate my palm upward to more than a 45-degree angle again. My doctor tells me almost nothng about what I can expect in terms of range and pain longterm as he fears liability for a mistake that was made by the clinic. The ulnar distal head protrudes a disconcerting amount and I am afraid that a misalignment was set.

    • @margaretr5701
      @margaretr5701 Před rokem

      Similar here. My cast was too tight and has left me with a disfigured hand, especially thumb alignment and a hollowed out palm. Also, less blood flow to my thumb, surgeon suggested an operation, taking a vein from my arm to my thumb. He mentioned necrosis. All this from a very tiny fracture in one of the smallest of bones. If I could go back, I would decline the acrylic cast, there's no room for error as they set so rapidly, it can't be adjusted, only removed and recast. Just a hand/wrist splint would have been enough, but it's too late now. I hope you have a better outcome than I do.
