▶ WRITE A CLOUD RESUME THAT LANDS YOU THE JOB
There is no better book which explain Tech Hiring and how to write a resume that passes tech screening processes than “The Tech Resume: Inside out”. I am referenced in the book and my review (Twitter) is on the homepage. It’s free if you’re unemployed and is priced based on your location.

42:04 these are great questions
Thank you !
This is pure gold! You got a new suscriber here.
how do I structure the Work Experience / Projects Section If I literally have never had a job, because right now I am compensating for the absolute lack of work experience with Cloud Projects..
You will likely get loads of errors when trying to deploy SAM if you do not also add further permissions. For me, I just added the following inline permissions JSON: { "Version": "2012-10-17", "Statement": [ { "Sid": "AllowApplicationInsightsActions", "Effect": "Allow", "Action": [ "applicationinsights:CreateApplication", "applicationinsights:DescribeApplication" ], "Resource": [ "arn:aws:applicationinsights:us-east-1:211125595032:application/resource-group/*" ] }, { "Sid": "AllowResourceGroupActions", "Effect": "Allow", "Action": [ "resource-groups:CreateGroup", "resource-groups:Tag", "resource-groups:GetGroup", "resource-groups:GetGroupQuery" ], "Resource": "*" } ] }
Great infos
Can you run the script again this year and provide results in reddit :)
So infrastructure as code basically streamlines servers so that you can run your whole infrastructure on any system? For example it would be easy to install new environments by understanding the whole infrastructure.
Really good series. Do you a repository in GitHub with the script and templates used in this project? It would be really helpful
what is your opinion on wgu's cloud computing bachelor's degree program?
Great
This was very helpful. I am a realtor and looking to get into the cloud practitioner sales role..I believe it is possible. Thanks
Is it worth considering OpenTofu instead of Terraform?
Can you get a job as a more senior person in this field ?
Currently Failing to deploy the updates, saying that access is denied
most of the time i wont make it to screening if i say as an architect i dont code
Do we still need to read books to know the insights in the era of Chatgpt ?
If you had to build 3 different projects only that will give you an enterprise-grade like experience, what would they be? MERN project perhaps?
Scrum master is that 6 figures :3
great info
Sorry guys but am completely lost here, what's the CLI you using there....think that part kinda skipped me..
Wow. This is disturbing. Smh they should stick to what we got our certification in and that needs to be our role. Thank you for this information. 😊
do you have a video on the difference between cloud architect vs solution architect?
A video like this in 2024 in a LIVE setting with users asking questions would be a good idea. Just saying
38:45 can you make a full video regarding this subject here. So after you applied for a job for lets say cloud engineer etc on linkedin, then you go to the company page > employee section (all on linkedin/+ any other possible ways) and message 2-5 employees with the job title you applied for. And what is a good copy and paste message you can possibly send to start of the conversation with plus to also see who responds back. Shittt maybe you can also try messaging the hiring manager too. This would be awesome if you can do a step by step video like once a week. I wouldn't mind being part of it soon, as the guinea pig of attempt to transfer from retail to Cloud.
Your content is very unique I gotta say. I am in the middle of transferring from retail to cloud. Still got some hands on labs I want to do before I try to start applying
Great insights..much recommended for people who are trying to figure out the skills they need to acquire, a big thumbs up.
So where is the Network Engineer? Who takes care of routers, Switches and Firewalls?
seems like he changed ViewerProtocolPolicy to redirect to https. Different than what's in his github
SA’s role is not entry…. you can’t jump into this job function out of college and carry any weight with other IT teams or stakeholders
Currently a AWS SA, it’s not what one would think. You need experience, ability to understand business needs, technical minded, and able to handle yourself when customer objections come at you. Also it has pre-sales role involve too.
can u make video about starting cloud from zero like nothing about it and roadmap for it thanks.
Thanks dude. Background music is way too loud
How can we build our own scripts to do this?
Just wanted to ask is eks free or it'll bill me
LOL this was me
Great Content! I have about 11 years of sales experience, 6 as an Enterprise Account Executive. I'm almost done studying for my AWS - SAA exam, should I be confident in applying for roles immediately due to my soft skills experience?
very interesting video mate! thanks
Hits a couple key points- there is no single definition or scope for Solution Architect… it’s more of a category. Companies do a poor job with titles and job descriptions. I think it touches on a key point- what do you mean “code”? There are different levels of that, and not all require the same (traditional) dev skills. In cloud this growth comes from the collision of Dev and Ops people into DevOos in cloud. But I think they missed something too. People tend to value their own experience as better than alternatives… so the Dev guy says “that skill is super valuable” and it was for his path. That doesn’t exclude the value in other paths though. I agreed with all the speakers here to a large extent- but it wasn’t clear if any were “non-coders” so they can’t speak about those roles and positions from personal experience. We’re supposed to say we value diversity right? Solution Architect is not an entry-level role for non-technical people- no boot camp or certification program prepares or provides sufficient knowledge and skill. It is certainly not a safe harbor for low skill non-technically minded people to grab a large paycheck.
Excellent!
Party on Wayne !
WTH dude this is insane! Great work!
Eyyyyy I was watching your vlog this morning, man !!! Great to see you.
Awesome video!!
Glad you liked it Sam - when are we writing some Kubernetes? looool. Let's definitely do a K8s vs Serverless app comparison!
As always thank you Lou
Anytime ! Hope it helps. Be sure to check out the repo and give it a go yourself ! github.com/terraform-aws-modules/terraform-aws-eks
So we don’t need to prep for KCNA??
It's a bit tongue-in-cheek, depends on your goals. The KCNA is very theory-heavy. If you're actually trying to learn Kubernetes, I don't think it's a great starting point, essentially. I will go and take it at some point, maybe later this year. But I'm not convinced KCNA is the best place to start for a beginner.
Wait, why is this video so good!
Cinematic - looool! glad you liked it Rishab !!!
How's it going folks? Been a few months since I last posted. I'll be posting more this year about Platform Engineering, Kubernetes and other stuff like that. What are you working on?
I enrolled myself in one DevOps platform and going through courses, so far did Linux, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Terraform, a bit of AWS and now on FluxCD. I also applied for one SE engineer graduate program position and solved one DevOps task, I hope they will call me back!
🐐!!!
🙏🙏🙏🙏
Great , much needed information. Thank you Lou
Anytime !
So I am assuming the same could be done with Terraform + azure / GCP right ?
Absolutely ! Luckily the Terraform part won't change too much, but the specifics of how it ties into the cloud provider will. There are modules for AKS and GKE (not really my wheelhouse), but you could for sure play around: github.com/terraform-google-modules/terraform-google-kubernetes-engine github.com/Azure/terraform-azurerm-aks
