Hi EVERYONE!
My CZcams will be about the 4x4/Overland Lifestyle but using my camper converted Land Rover Defender 110.
I welcome you all to share your experiences thoughts and comments on everything you see as I want to learn and grow myself.
I love to EXPLORE and often with my 110 Land Rover Defender

How To - Defender 2.4 Puma Servicing | Injectors & Engine Maintenance
In this video I give my engine some crucial maintenance work. I decided to do this ready for the summer and also because I am trying to trouble shoot some engine breathing issues. I have excessive pressure chuffing through the oil filler cap.
I sourced all my parts from Empire Tuning who were very helpful in getting me the parts out next day delivery so I could do the servicing work on the weekend. Huge thank you to them!

I also gave the engine its regular oil service along with air filter and fuel filter. a maintained engine is crucial right?
I hope this video helps you if you are considering doing the work yourself, its basic mechanics and I would say intermediate at worst. I cut the seats to make the copper washers seal better and this has definitely improved how smooth the engine runs.

Hello everyone, I made a visit to Yellowtail Camping in Wiltshire to try out my new rooftop tent. I went up to see Benjy Cradock from RH & IR Cradock down at New Barn Farm and had a full set of their NBF Bespoke 80 series skid plates fitted to the Land Cruiser. Benjy really Knows his stuff when it comes to BESPOKE work and high quality workmanship. I will be returning to NBF to have other work carried out and use their knowledge to make my 80 a tougher rig! Did this on my transit (same engine). Mine was chuffing way worse than yours, oil mist was coming out the dipstick to. Cutting new seats etc sorted it. Some blow by is normal and a can of “smoke stop” with each oil change can help with higher mileage engines. You may want to clean the oil pump pickup at some point. There is a mesh at the bottom. Mine was partly clogged with soot that the injectors farted into the oil.
Great video! I'm doing the same job next week. But where did you get the 6nm torque number? The LandRoverMonthly guide says 8Nm and then 180 degrees. My workshop guide also says 8Nm.

I am not sure what size unfortunately. I borrowed a kit and picked one that fit the best. Easy job so don’t worry about it.

Yeah I got it directly from One Stone in Aus. Awesome kit!
One of the best things I put on my 130 camper is a drop down table on the side, we use it all the time, we cook on it when camping and use it for a quick brew or lunch when we stop at the side of the road. Plenty of option for the inside of the rear door as well.
Yeah it’s definitely something I have to address. I won’t be cooking inside at all with mine. I am a bit funny with cooking smells and living spaces!
Looks nice! I’ve got a very similar defender white 3 door 110 hardtop with black roof! Should be converted by May hopefully

Haha thank you. Honestly though, the cruiser is a better performing car but it just didn’t tick the box that a defender does!

Great work! Everyone thinks you need a massive 60L fridge when the reality is you can hit Africa with a 35L fridge if you're smart with how you cook 🔥 that 9L is plenty for a weekend away! Great effort, love the build, keep it coming 🔥

Fantastic work man! Totally get the log cabin vibe! shame you cant get a wee wood burner in there. All in all I'd say once that gull wing goes on there aint much more you can do to it to make it perfect

Nice rig. I also like the colour ❤️ It really suits the LC80. I'd like to get a complete kit of the Toyota OEM (JDM only) rear tyre carrier. In Australia, Toyota didn't offer this option locally. And they are now discontinued. I don't know where to get them. 😟

Thanks Rory! I’m on 180k at the moment, but these engines are solid and good for triple that with a good maintenance schedule. I went for a manual because they are in my mind less to go wrong. They are actually more sought after for that reason. :-)

Just seen this video , wow - that is nice ! The 80 is , imho the best, and toughest 4x4 ever built. Toyota over engineered these to go on for many years. And you're one lucky owner , nice little lift kit too. You've done well with it so far , I'll subscribe and wait for updates 👍 I'm near Colchester , North Essex. Great video too.
