Full Exterior Repaint for The Heritage of Claremont in Oakland, CA
This large-scale repaint in Oakland included a 5-story, 45-unit condo complex. Needless to say, a lot of careful planning and preparation was involved!
The first step was a clear, detailed proposal that outlined every step, stage, and the products we'd use, ensuring that the HOA board members knew exactly what to expect. We also kept the residents informed, letting them know 1 week prior to when we started painting their specific building.
Clear communication, coordination, and peace of mind is all part of the MB Jessee Way, and more important than ever with a project of this size.
Here's a quick look at the specific commercial painting services we provided:
-Surface cleaning, prep, and repairs
-Painted all exterior stucco and cinderblock surfaces
-Main entry doors, trim, and benches
-Metal surfaces (utility doors, gutters/downspouts, fencing, handrails, and more!)
An important note: all of these surfaces received TWO coats of finish paint. That's in line with our standards and manufacturer guidelines, but it's not something every painting company will commit to.

Outdoor Patio Floor Coating for The Hamilton Building
zhlédnutí 33Před 11 měsíci
Our team applied a 2-part epoxy coating to a rooftop patio, 20 stories above San Francisco. After carefully prepping the surface and mapping out the Art Deco pattern, we had just a small window of time each day to apply the coating while the conditions were right: it was too moist in the morning and too hot in the afternoon. After removing the tape, we touched up all the lines by hand to make t...

Tips from a Painter: Filling Nail Holes
So you caulk the nail heads and then fill them with wood filler?
Can you do this method on pavement?
I’m a commercial painter in Kansas City. I just started working for one of the biggest ones I’ve ever done. We’re doing a Coca-Cola factory a tip up and I’ve been exposed to booms for the first time. It’s an absolute game changer. What used to take. I don’t know. Imagine moving a ladder. Every time you needed to move a ladder or just driving around the building up and down and up and down. I never wanna apply a ladder again.
That test is not reliable unless you first wash the surface to remove any oxidized paint on the surface. Oxidized oil paint would rub off on the cotton ball.
I really liked this video. Sure, it wasn't the superslick, highly edited stuff we are used to on CZcams but the information was really good.
Do you seal it after you are done?
Wow
💯🤟🏽
Thank you. So much.
will we getting matching colors
It may not be the most desired texture but I'm trying to match for repair that was done. I could never tell if the texture was intentional or just a really sticky paint that didn't flow.
I recommend wearing gloves when applying caulking. It's very bad for your skin. And keep your gloves clean! Wipe them with a wet rag after every single wipe. Talking to customers with dirty hands and clothes is not professional. Paint gets onto everything easily, keep your hands clean gloves clean and keep a tidy job site.

Honestly a good tip, will try this and hope for good results
Thanks for also showing the common mistakes for first-time repair attempts! Wish me luck taking down the Dish TV on my roof...and the wire that leads nearly the longest route possible to a power box... there are lots of screws to fill holding the brackets around the danged wire. You're a HUGE help! Thank you!
Nice!!
God bless yall!
THANKS for this video, from Louisiana!
Why not just use caulk for whole job. You said use puddy for holes, Then said use caulk.. why 2 products?
I’ve been painting in LA. For 23 years. Something I respect about this dude is his uniform . Presentation means a lot. I recently moved to Texas and man I’ve seen the worse painters looking like they just crossed the damn border man . No class
Not sure what the siding is in the video (looks like fiber board) - but at least in the case of Hardie board you should not tool the caulking - which I think is mostly due to them recommending certain types of caulking (elastomeric) and they usually tell you not to tool the caulk since you want enough material to get in and behind and also grab on to actually last...tooling you end up removing too much (interior stuff this is usually fine, not as extreme as exterior) and for cement board you can easily tool too hard and push the caulk into the texture of the board and it tends to look bad
Thank you for the quick tutorial. It helped me a lot.
Very cool. I remember in the 70's every 1 was using big feathers to paint walls. Reminded me of that.
Nice job on this!
También estoy aprendiendo pintura jajaj
This was the marriot
What art? 95% of this is graffiti.
Actually you apply the material one direction, remove access going opposite direction. If you remove access same way you apply it. You remove material leaving divot.
Thanks for sharing, I'm going to try this
VERY helpful!!
La dirección para ir a misa y a que oras ay misa por favor
???!!!
Thanks.
Can we use gasoline?
Awesome step by step video! Including the possible things that can go wrong really helps the person wanting to do this them selves!
Thank you sir
NO! Do not use your finger. How can you create a completely flat surface over the hole without a flat-edge and using a towel (!?)(face palm) terrible idea. Simply use a 2" putty knife drag it over the hole and then push back to make a perfectly flat surface. You can actually do holes quicker than by using your finger.
Unless you have a textured wall, then it doesn't matter.
you need to adjust the content
Thanks you
Nice! Straight to the point!! Thank you. 🥂
Great video! What spackle/patch would you recommend for filling nail holes in Hardie Board? I was thinking Lanco Concrete and Mortar Patch and Repair, but am not certain that'd be best. Thanks!
Homeboy look like he don't even want to be there, zero motivation 🤣
Lol maybe he feels pressured by the camera
they filmed during his lunch break! you ca hear him say "coma mierda with your caulking cabron" at 11:01
@@marztar 😂😂😂 he was hungry then
Thank you. For sharing
I use my caulk to fill holes every chance I get.
Thanks for your help on the nails 🙏👍🖐
Thanks I was looking for something simple and easy..
Thank you MB Jessee. You're the best paint and paint prep mentor, I'm helping my son prep interior walls and was so afraid of doing it wrong, You armed me with confidence. Many blessings to your family and your business.
Right on Jessie! Muy bueno!
Use fabric softener to rinse your brush after washing Same thing as conditioner
Thank you ! I got a question: What about if the existing base is latex and I’d like to repaint with oil based paint ? Would that work or needs a prime ?
Since he didnt answer, I will. You can paint right over the top of a stable latex paint (clean and not peeling) with an oil based paint without priming first.
@@mdindestin thank you 🙏🏻.
