There's been a long running rumor claiming that Krusty Towers was intended for season 3. I highly doubt though because the rumor was made by people who refused to admit they like something after the movie.

As someome who grew up with both eras. The dark ages are bad. I remember being a kid and getting bored of the episodes. Especially in season 6

I need to edit this because my opinion changed... Worst to best spongebob seasons: 14. Season 13, 4.75/10 Most of the episodes are really bad, squidward torture is back, and spongebob is out of character. There was olny a few good episodes here, and even then olny 3 are memorable, that being yellow pavement, sea sponge haters club, and big top flop. 13. Season 7, 5/10 Season 7s episodes are half mediocre and half downright bad episodes. There are no memorable episodes in this season. 12. Season 6, 5.25/10 The olny reason this ranks above 7 is because the bad episodes usually aren't as bad as Season 7s bad episodes. Also I would rather deal with squidward torture then whatever the hell most of season 7 does. 11. Season 8, 5.50/10 This is basically the same as Season 7s case but there are 2 memorable episodes so that's why it scores higher. 10. Season 1, 6.75/10 it's a alright season but there arnt any real good episodes in this season, but I wouldn't really call any of them bad either. But there's 1 really bad episode that drags this down a place, jellyfishing. 9. Season 10, 7/10 This doesn't really have any bad episodes but this Season doesn't have really any good episodes either so... 8. Season 3, 7.15/10 It's a boring season with a few chuckles here and there, not much to say. 7. Season 12, 7.25/10 This has a few of the most boring uninteresting episodes of spongebob, but where's my dinner!!! will always be my favrote Mrs. Puff line. 6. Season 11, 7.35/10 A lot of good episodes but none that are really memorable accept for the black and white spongebob episode. 5. Season 2, 7.50/10 Same situation with season 3 accept my favrote episode of spongebob, the hibernation one is here sooo... 4. Season 5, 7.75/10 This is a good Season, some uninteresting episodes but most of them were at least good and the bad episodes were usually just boring. 3. Season 9, 8.50/10 Most of the season is mediocre and some of the season is some of the best spongebob can offer. 2. Season 14, 9.50/10 Wow this is way better than season 13 so far. A lot of fun episodes. I don't think there Any bad ones, just meh ones. Bassward slaps, but it isn't quite enough to get past the best season of spongebob! 1. Season 4, 9.75/10 This season is so close to being perfect. every episode is great and unique! Apart from good neighbors, and a few other boring ones.

I was kind of shook seeing "I'm with Stupid" in S tier. That's my least favorite pre-movie episode and not one I normally see people rush to defend.

Have you seen this snail was GOOD. Everything about it was amazing, it came with a song, good memes, in character SpongeBob, Funny Jokes, Main Characters, and overall nice plot, if you whine saying 'OH ITS TOOOO SAD!" First, grow up. Second, it came out on remembrance day. Have you seen this snail was peak SpongeBob, and you cannot change my mind.

I agree with you, also don't like ,Camp Spongebob' that much ,Krab Borg' is my favourite in season 3 😂 We had prehistorical stuff in ,SB-129' so why did they make this special? No one needs it (at least I don't😉)

I grew up watching this era of SpongeBob, and I definitely have some very fond memories of certain episodes. It’s nice to see it being treated respectfully and not as just “bad”

Season 9 as a whole is the last truly good SpongeBob season. 10 for me is the beginning of the end.

Honestly I think the true dark era is Seasons 10-13 Seasons 6-9 may not be as good as 1-5 but I think they are actually far superior than the seasons that came after it due to the fact there's several episodes still I think are still fantastic. Not every episode is great I still think some are really bad (Mostly in 6 and 7) but that doesn’t mean there is no good at all. Yes even 10-13 have their gems but they all have the weakness of being way too fast paced and sometimes impossible to comprehend especially for Season 11, Seasons 6-9 are far better at storytelling and making you understand what's happening. In fact I think Season 9 as a whole is far better than anything after it and I even think is slightly better than 5 due the fact it has less stinkers and the some of the stinkers aren't as bad as the stinkers in Season 5. So to sum up Seasons 6-9A have a couple of flaws sure but when they have their gems they really shine especially in 8 and 9.

Very good video. I have one problem only the episode "Have You Seen Thing Snail?" So i kinda disagree with your opinion. Saying episode was "too depressing" seems kinda a complaint for, not like the episode. SpongeBob isn't a cartoon just about comedy, it can be depressing sometimes. I mean seeing SpongeBob just as a "comedy factor" doesn't make sense. Spongebob is a cartoon that, handle various different themes and topics. Despite episode being sad i kinda feel connection with this episode. Imagine that a pet you so much cared about, being lost this episode is so much to me and "Gary Come Home" song hits hard very first day till.

It never bugged me, how darker the became in season 3. Or how animation slighty became less 'energetic' this is tiny little problems that never made a reaction in my eye, also "Artist Unknown" is a special episode, it just commentaries that how art schools kills your passionate about art

I’ve recently started rewatching SpongeBob, and I’m making my way through Season 6. So far, it’s been great! I only have 17 episodes left, and their have only been 3 bad ones. Even the so called “infamous” episodes still managed to be enjoyable! It also has my favorite episode of the whole show, Truth Or Square! (Hot Take) I would honestly consider it better than Season 4 and Season 5! Definitely one of the most underrated seasons in cartoon history!
