The reason I can't stand levelling systems is because it makes things a slog if you don't upgrade your equipment, constantly have to change your gear in order to keep up (cosmetics in RPGs are infamous for this as you almost never get and never get to keep the look you want), even if you can't find gear at your level. And areas you missed or revisit where enemies are stuck at level 1 will lose the fun of the challenge. I'd rather just unlock more useful abilities to conquer more challenging enemy types as I progress through the game. This is why Batman Arkham succeeded where Gotham Knights failed. You conquer enemies better not through zenkai boost, but through studying them, focusing on exploiting their vulnerabilities, and managing your resources, and get more skill points not by grinding, but by completing missions (both side and main). More games need to come up with this kind of progression. Hollow Knight also does it very well, but it can be very unforgiving at times.

Yep, I see why this is #1 reason for people to quit the game. I am about to. I have watched yours and other on this ridiculously over complicated mechanic, and after three weeks still spend hour upon hour upon hour just trying to build UP. There are no ladders, no scaffolding, nothing to get you up - and all the materials are always up... 7 servers... 12 hours or more each, 7x the iron is up... and no way to get there. All these videos show some nice pathway that gently slopes up... clearly not showing the 200 hours it took to make that path. All I do all day is try to get the dirt moved up. Yeah, done with it.

Just out of curiosity, do I have to do this through a dedicated server? Can I do it in a regular server? It sure would help immensely with establishing a town, not having to deal making the stuff myself. I had a forge and anvil just go bad on me a few days ago. Everything was going great and then it stopped working. I went and looked it over and saw that a chunk of one of the top corners was blown out-I guess from getting too hot or from the use and abuse (finally just gave way). It still has some points (1900ish out of about 3900), which surprised me. If I can somehow bypass having to deal with that, it sure would be great.

I just tried this myself but couldn't get it to work. I need help Good Guy Mike. I have my own private world/server and went to add the commands to be able to add the different items you mentioned later in your video, but it's not working. It threw up some kind of "parse error" in response.
