I have this same model and yr.. just curious did the transmission need to warm up for all the gears to hit? Mine needs to warm up for about a mile and a half before it hits all gears.. just on initial start up for the day after that just fine… just wondering if this happens with all hydramayics

My experience with a 59 Galaxy 2 door hardtop was in 1964..had a 352" with a three speed and overdrive. I had a set of five spoke mags on it...but was a slug! Found a 427" R code with a broken rod wrapped around its neighbor. Sleeved one cylinder and got two rods and Pistons from Ford. First hard pull exploded the three speed. Was lucky to find an R code drag car at a local wrecker and got a four speed with all racing parts and a nine inch posi rearend.

really nice machine, i wish that i could have kept my 51 more "classic" but the parts were too expensive to repair my 216 compared to getting a 350 setup. i'm real happy to have a lot more power i can now pass slow trucks on the highway XD. you have an awesome car and it sounds great!

With the standard you will get better gas mileage. My 66 235 with a 20 gallon tank went 234 miles before filling it up.
