I'm not sure words can describe how mission critical this is if the Drupal project wants to keep being a leader in its industry. What irritates me is how Drupal 7 essentially had this--at least in concept; it's one of the reasons Drupal 7 was one of the most popular CMSs that existed--but when everything headed into Drupal 8+, the clique responsible for mandating Composer (as if it was some sort of new Velcro) kept dismissing the concerns everyone had about its forced usage. That's when everyone should've realized that Drupal had become hijacked and how it was essentially being held hostage by a cute little group of gatekeepers who clearly cared little for everyone else who wasn't deep-throating whatever development nuance they believed everything revolved around. Thankfully, this demo makes it look like it's been wrestled back into the hands of those who have some common user sense when it comes to user experiences because nobody who uses Drupal--in any capacity--be they themers, module developers, core developers, or just people who want to try things out--should be forced into using anything that isn't a core capability OUTSIDE of core via third-party non-core apps like Composer. Whoever thought that'd go over without any fuss or believed that everyone involved in using Drupal would just dismiss it, forget about it and move on, or kowtow to whatever kind of conceptual Drupal panacea they believed was being manifested by forcing it, should never be allowed within 100 miles of using Drupal ever again. This demo gives me hope that there's still reasons to stick with Drupal. I hope it gets delivered into real, production-grade incorporation because if it does, it could single-handedly return Drupal to a popularity it's been missing ever since leaving version 7.

45:32 - This was a really interesting point. You can’t make config “required” on install in Project Browser like fields in a node. The D7 version of the Rules module was a powerful tool/UI that could address a lot of these challenges but it would need to use Checkpoint to roll back.

Why are you using indexdb as file storage? File System API is faster and has less restrictions regarding quota and filesize.

I always wanted every module page to have a "Try now" that used DrupalPod or something under the hood, maybe this could actually be that solution one day.

I think something that you didn't show but it's a crucial ability of drupal that often competitors don't have, is the completely customizable permissions & roles management in general. When other solutions are not open source, they usually limit the free use option to only anons (viewers) and admins!

This is looking really promising. Curious too see the results and get my hands on it and use it as a foundation. Statamic CMS is currently gaining alot of attention and the way the content is structured is quet similair to drupal, but the CMS side looks like something starshot is trying to achieve. Specifically the way media is handled is something a lot of our clients have been asking for for years. We had a hackaton this weekend with a few engineers this weekend that made a site using it and they were all really impressed. Maybe you're already aware of it.

I am just getting started with Drupal. So far I only have experience with Wordpress. So getting started as a non-developer but very curious and fast-learning mind I slowly get the hang on Drupal. Hearing about the Startshot initiative gets me really, really excited. I am looking forward to follow the Zooms. Thanks a lot to all people involved.

The reusable components feature is now in a lot of builders and coming to more and more. The builders that users are actually paying for, have gotten far more advanced than old Gutenberg and default builders. When evaluating your product, perhaps it’s ideal to do it against the leading and successful builders instead of Gutenberg and other similar ones

You guys are 15 years behind, get this up and running because this will still need at least 2 years to mature after it goes live. Get it up and shipped so we can start playing with it.

Sounds like you perhaps need an ITIL certified Knowledge Manager? What EKM framework are you using right now? Are you happy with it? Do you have an idea about how far you want to go KM governance and process/procedures? Aside from Change Management, KM is the next in line for fun things to do. Also to think about is how feedback pumps back into KM and the other development processes as you practice ITIL Agile? Very interesting discussion...
