The Reformed Rookie seeks to educate beginners, or rookies, in the richness and beauty of the Reformed faith. We want to promote a solid biblical worldview that includes a God that is sovereign over all things and worthy of our worship. We seek to demonstrate the centrality of Christ in all things and to showcase his glory. We advocate an infinitely strong God and an impotent mankind. The Reformed Rookie promotes a high view of scripture as the only infallible source of authority, the doctrines of grace, and the five solas recovered in the Reformation.

Junk science by a junk scientist perverted by Christianity.
William Tyndale wasn't exactly burned at the stake. He had a stroke while conducting Mass in the parish church on 28 December 1384. He died a few days later. The Catholic Church In 1415 declared him a heretic and in 1428 his corps was exhumed, burned and ashes thrown in the River Swift. (Seems They really did not like him)
You gave a good summary of Reformed Baptist doctrine. However you said John Knox was burned at the stake. He was not. He died at home 24 November 1572, from poor health at the age of 58/59. Note: John Rodgers who is credited with completing and printing the first complete English translation of Bible was burned at the stake by Queen Bloody Mary of England.
Thank you for the teaching and clarification. However, I take umbrage at the word sacrament. The London Baptist, Concession of Faith, calls them ordinances. The writers of it went out of their way to do so. It is one of the major differences between the London Baptist, confession on faith, and the Westminster confessional faith. The 1689 does this, so there can be no mistaking that by taking communion or participating in baptism, one can believe that they are doing something that is meritorious towards their salvation.
I agree completely, and I'm a 1689'r as well. The book I was using for this series is by Kim Riddlebarger who is a Presbyterian and holds to the Westminster.
All Reformed people need to read Romans 11 substituting "The Church" for the word "Israel" and for the pronouns that refer back to Israel in Chapter 11. Read it out loud and see if you are making any sense. I have been challenging Reformed/Calvinists to do this for two months and have no takers so far.
when you understand who the "children of the promise" are, it will make complete sense. And you have national Israel/according to the flesh, and the Israel of God according to the Spirit.
@@ReformedRookie Umm, it's not like I haven't heard that phrase before (c.f., "children of the promise"), or I do not know what it means. Try this on for size: Romans 11: 11 "I say then, [the children of the promise] did not stumble so as to fall, did they? Far from it! But by the wrongdoing [of the children of the promise] salvation has come to the Gentiles, to make them jealous." You can work it the other way: "I say then, [unsaved] did not stumble so as to fall, did they? Far from it! But by the unsaved's wrongdoing salvation has come to the Gentiles, to make them jealous." You see, you can't point at the nation of Israel that Paul the Apostle spotlights at the start of the chapter (vv 1-2) and say, "Look, they are broken off"; then at the end of the chapter (v 26) say that Paul meant the Church or the "children of the promise/not Israel" when you get to the end of the chapter. It doesn't make any sense. The saved are never broken off. Only the Jews. And so . . . "All Israel will be saved"; God does work in different ways at different times (but always by faith); The Jews have a part to play at the end of history. Oh, and Reformed theology is in a shambles.
Why aren’t the Anglicans considered Protestants? Many of them would consider themselves Reformed.
The beauty of simplified truth in the Lord's return and all things therein is the light that opposses the presuppositions of millinarianism..
Van Kleeck's response on "jot and tittle" demonstrates that his position is misinformed. The passage in its own words is Christ's completion of the Law, not the preservation of scripture. EDIT: How does VK _not_ understand the circular argument he's engaging in? Textual criticism as an historical discipline to verify _that_ the Bible as we possess it now is most faithful to the actual Theopneustos as given by the Spirit, is _neither_ atheistic/naturalistic in argumentation nor is it categorically the same as doctrinal belief on what the Spirit has given _once established specifically what was given_ . This is painful to watch.
Textus receptus is the only legit one. It is from over 5000 manuscripts and pieces of manuscripts that were handed down from the church fathers in what is now modern day turkey. The Critical text is from 2 obviously fraudulent sources. Vaticanus which has initial drop caps (not used till the middle ages and Sinaiticus which is white and pliable, is the most corrected manuscript in history and is an actual forgery that was created in the 1800s by Constantine Simonedes and then pawned off as an "ancient document" by a German named Tischendorf.

I greatly appreciate the 1689 not leaving any hint of millinarianism'sj future kingdom, but simply speaks of "last things and of judgement." To miss the rule and reign of the King in the present Kingdom, is to miss the fullness of submitting to His present kingdom lordship.

I agree with most of this except for the sabbath. I believe the sabbath is no longer a day of the week but Christ himself
He certainly fulfills it, and is our ultimate rest, but he is also our righteousness so do we jettison all the law? Not keeping the sabbath in the OC was punishable by death- my question would be: did God change His mind?
@@ReformedRookie good point I've always been told that 9 of the ten commandments were brought over the new testament the one being left off being the Sabbath but I need to study that out myself instead of just going with what's been taught

And BTW, the bible is not inspired by God. hahaha. Otherwise, God is immoral and evil. Slavery. God condoned and endorsed it, and never prohibited it. Unless you think owning people as property is fine.

Another fine debate from Dr James White. One of his best in my opinion... Dr Van Kleeck is a sad example of weak, illogical, meaningless, unsound, emotionally driven argumentation against stellar and impeccable debating and teaching. "Ignorance-on-fire" VS. real knowledge and wisdom. BRAVO, DOCTOR WHITE!!!
It was an okay debate. I lean more towards Dr. Van Kleet's position from a biblical & faith based position on the Word of God preserved by God. They were both amped up.
Shows here with out God how because power over God is something strange like algorithm shows God hides with no power at all. God please prove me wrong with evidence.
evidence presupposes truth- you cannot have objective truth apart from God. What is truth on your worldview?
@@ReformedRookie The truth and the only truth and nothing but the truth of Creation.
@@ReformedRookie What did Jesus mean when he said some of you Decsiple's will still be alive on my second coming. this being 80 generations ago? Jesus also means in the flesh and every eye shall see me he said.
Good teaching. There is more to this doctrine of total depravity than I had heard before. I really like that list of things that man can’t do. That will remind me that the work is all of God, and not of me. I keep falling back into “how do I fix this” and “what can I do to straighten this out” so I guess I have not yet fully given up on my efforts to earn God’s favor. Thank you for helping me to grow and learn.
Some of this teaching is difficult for me to grasp. I think I finally begin to understand though how God decrees something evil but He Himself does not force someone to do evil, He simply allows us to do and act upon the evil inclinations that are already within us. Is that right? Thank you for this teaching series.
yes- I see that God is actively restraining the evil in mans heart and all He has to do is release His restraint and we will sin further. Think about Genesis 50- Joseph & his brothers. Joseph said that what you (his brothers) meant for evil, God meant for good. Same thing happens at the cross- Acts 4:27-28 for truly in this city there were gathered together against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, to do whatever your hand and your plan had predestined to take place. blessings!
TO ALL PRETERISTS: Revelation 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. PRETERISTS take away from the words of the book of prophecy. REPENT, while you can
Both fall under the false heresies of Anglicanism and Calvinism. Note how John Calvin added thousands of pages to the bible, anti chrisr centered and there is no "church" in this theology, merely denominations. Thus channel would be in violation of the 3rd commandment if he dared speak for God. Of course they shall all fall to the counter arguements of judaism 😊
A helpful overview to situate ourselves to the outworking of the Reformed Baptist. SDG.
amen and praise God!
Why you should care about Calvinism. It’s doctrines are not Biblical 1)Calvinism = Men are unable to choose God *** Christianity = “Choose you this day whom ye will serve” Joshua 24:15 2) Calvinism = Salvation by lottery *** Christianity = For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:26 3) Calvinism = Christ died for the elect *** Christianity = “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.” John 1:29 4) Calvinism = You are a puppet with no free will *** Christianity = “ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.” Acts 7:51 5) Calvinism = Once Saved, Always Saved *** Christianity = “that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith” 1 Timothy 4:1 Of course, Calvinists have excuses for every one of these points. They will twist Scripture in many ways to justify their unBiblical theology. Calvinism has crept into mainstream Christianity in many ways, most notably in point number 5, taking away any responsibility from the Christian to keep the faith which is the only condition in the promise of Salvation. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 But why should anyone care? “For I am the LORD, I change not;” Malachi 3:6 Changing the nature of God in such a fundamental way means you are no longer worshiping the God of the Bible. This fact has eternal consequences. Do not be deceived by those who post the likes of Pink, Sproul, and others. Study the Bible, Look to Christ, not to Calvin.
Learning exactly what is needed❤ I appreciate😊

Appreciate your breakdown of the tabernacle. In my experience most Christians have little to no understanding that the tabernacle and the Garden of Eden story are central to NT theology. The NT writers would have a significant understanding of the tabernacle details and how to weave it throughout there narrative. In light of temple destruction in 70 AD, the NT stories would have been impactful to reframe the idea that the tabernacle resides within man.
Thanks, however you left out the major influence on what would become the Reformed Baptist/Sovereign Grace Baptist Movement: the 1644/1646 1st London Baptist Confession of Faith - the first Calvinistic Confession by Baptists after the 1593 John Smythe Confession which has commonly been identified as the first emergence of the Baptist Church.
It seems impossible to understand the first century Jewish Christian references in the Gospels and Letters, unless one has a detailed understanding of the tabernacle and temple as well as the activities that surround the narrative. Many Christians completely misunderstand the metaphors that are used as well as the phrases and fall victim to a literal and not a spiritual understanding of the Torah. There are many things I could say, but one major stumbling block for Christians is the theological idea of "the second coming" which is nowhere explicitly stated in the New Testament. When the NT writers mention of seeing the Son of Man "coming in the clouds of heaven" they are not referencing the appearance of a small man floating down from outer space and making an appearance. It's ridiculous...how are people on the other side of the planet going to see him? Instead if one recognizes the relationship of the clouds or cloud to the tabernacle the picture becomes clear. The tabernacle both follows the cloud as well as the cloud filling the tabernacle. Spiritual speaking, we are those tabernacles that both follow the cloud and are filled by the cloud. Thus every eye shall see him.
I agree with you on most of what you said, however there will be a physical resurrection from the dead: Philippians 3:10-11- that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead. Philippians 3:20-21-But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.
@@ReformedRookie In the first century, there were diverse interpretations of the concept of resurrection among Jewish sects. The Gospel accounts depict Jesus engaging in debates with both the Pharisees, who believed in a physical resurrection, and the Sadducees, who rejected the idea altogether. In Matthew, Jesus presents a unique perspective, stating, "But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, saying, 'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living." Here, the present tense suggests an ongoing existence in God. Interestingly the Essenes, another Jewish popular sect, are not mentioned in the Gospels. Some scholars speculate that early Christianity may have been influenced or sprung out of Essene beliefs. The Essenes held the notion that while the body could be killed, the soul persisted and could inhabit another body-a concept akin to reincarnation or ressurection exemplified in the belief that John the Baptist embodied the spirit of Elijah. Exploring the phrase "attain the resurrection from the dead," the term "attain" implies a process or revelation rather than a singular event. It denotes a transformation from the individual (tabernacle) to the collective (Body), albeit with each person experiencing this in their own order. This aligns with the idea presented in Corinthians that in Christ, one becomes a new creation, shedding the old for the new, including the acquisition of immortality. It's essential to recognize that the letters comprising the New Testament were not originally compiled into a single volume but rather accumulated over time. Addressed to specific congregations (churches), each letter tailored its message to the spiritual maturity and comprehension level of its recipients. The distinction is evident in John's epistle, which distinguishes between children, young adults, and fathers, each group receiving a message relevant to their level of understanding and growth.

“The extreme rarity of transitional forms in the fossil record persists as the trade secret of paleontology. The evolutionary trees that adorn our text- books have data only at the tips and nodes of their branches; the rest is inference, however reasonable, not the evidence of fossils. Yet Darwin was so wedded to gradualism that he wagered his entire theory on a denial of this literal record: "The geological record is extremely imperfect and this fact will to a large extent explain why we do not find interminable varieties, connecting together all the extinct and existing forms of life by the finest graduated steps, He who rejects these views on the nature of the geological record, will rightly reject my whole theory." Darwin's argument still persists as the favored escape of most paleontologists from the embarrassment of a record that seems to show so little of evolution. In exposing its cultural and methodological roots, I wish in no way to impugn the potential validity of gradualism (for all general views have similar roots). I wish only to point out that it was never -seen- in the rocks. Paleontologists have paid an exorbitant price for Darwin's argument. We fancy ourselves as the only true students of life's history, yet to preserve our favored account of evolution by natural selection we view our data as so bad that we never see the very process we profess to study. [Evolution’s Erratic Pace - "Natural History," May, 1977]” ― Stephen Jay Gould

The cubit Moses would have been familiar with was the Royal Egyptian Cubit of 20 3/8". The 18" Hebrew cubit was developed much later. Good job!
Sin is something Jesus defeated and took away he also took the judgment of all sin for all people on himself. And he died to defeat death for us.
then your argument is with the Apostle John, not me. In the new covenant (as per Ezek 36), God says: Ezekiel 36:27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules. Jesus would say: John 14:15 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments." We don't keep God's commandments to earn His love, or acceptance, or heaven- its a gift! We keep His commandments because of His love and acceptance of us, so that He gets honor and glory.
