Using it to help your daughter write a letter expressing herself, using language she might not have be able to compose but be able to recognize, is the perfect use case for something like Gemini. Relying on its faulty advice is exactly the wrong use case.

Of course mega corporations want us to replace human interaction with ai. What better way to scrape and sell all our private data? AI for image generating isn't AS bad, if utilized to get a rough draft or reference image for an artist you're then paying to work off of. The problem is everyone using ai to make images and claiming it as their own 'art' which they then try to sell. AI is a fun toy to play with, but it can never replace human interactions or human artists.

Hi Jason! Great presentation! I have been writing "AI" since 1969! It is nothing more than ONE line of code! "IF (condition) THEN (do this) ELSE (do that)" Binary only! AI Will NEVER be sentient! Of course there are billions of lines of code, and computer systems are as fast as the speed of light times the number of CPU's, but never "intelligence" there! 🤗 Oogle/Mytube has been censoring health info for years. They deleted certain words OR phrases! I tested it on comments I put on I wrote a code translation program that it has not been able to break yet! 😁 Have a great day!

I don't know if this story is real or not. Doesn't matter if so or not. I'm anxious waiting for ChatGPT, or other language model, to be fully funcional and free, accessible for old people in regular phones, not just iPhones, and that it is fully functional, even if not the newest model, but like the videos OpenAI showed, so that elderly people can have someone to talk to. They can be of assistance, inside a phone over the table, they can be of assistance as a new robot helping around, I can't wait, for me, for my mum, almost 80, so, I can't wait for the future. I don't want time to pass, I don't want to not be there and to be there a phone instead of me, but I want my mum or dad to have someone who can talk to them, that can give them a decent reply in a conversation, regarding whichever matter they want to talk, to learn, to understand new stuff, whatever, and that thing talking to them can be connected with me, for example, resting me assured if I'm not there to help/assist them right in that moment. I think that the future will be good, but I just don't want AI to replace us doing what we, as mankind, should be doing, art, culture. Leave AI for the boring stuff, allow people to create. Use it to help us if we're working and we need to help senior citizens, but don't just allow ourselves to not be there. They're our parents, if possible, be there. They're our kids, if possible, be there.

I think it is depends on who is providing the AI and how private it is and what the AIs mode is. If it is neutral to positive like ChatGPT, the user is aware that it is an LLM and the data is no used for immoral things I think it is OK. Language is important for humans and I think it is probably better to speak a bit more frequently to an AI than not to speak. It is probably not done a lot of research on this, as the tech is so new. Speaking to Siri og Google Assistant in my born language, makes me irritated, but I was able to use ChatGPT to make a story in english, during a two hour drive last Christimas. I think it was quite fun and engaging. As the part of the population that is single is growing, and it also seems to be more and more rare that people have close friends, I do not think this is a use case only for elderly.

I picked up on the cup almost immediately, then got uncanny vibes from the guy behind the main subject (hand position, hat, eyebrow area). I picked up on the table's edge (where you can see the plies) hop over to his jean vest... but I didn't even notice the shirt! haha One other thing that caught me about the render was just the way he had his cig in his mouth... I'm a former smoker, and McDonald's used to have little aluminum-foil ashtrays... sitting with a cig hanging like that will make the smoke burn your eyes. I used to try to do that while rolling silverware at some old sit-down restaurants I worked at in HS and college.

AI is absolutely horrible in doing fingers especially if they hold something. took me 1 sec. The chick being topless was the second indicator.

His left hand was freaky. It had a 2nd burger as pinky. Also, something on the left side of the picture was trying to exist, but the AI didn't really put much effort into it. What's striking is that it's not the face that's we're looking at for clues. Anything but the face. And the AI did the face good.

What's the guy doing with his hand in the back? The McDlidani sign in the back. There's no yellow super sized fry pouch, and there's a straw coming out? But not in the drink? Burgers in the ash tray. And that's not how tshirts work. Most obvious is the Cai Gillo on the cup.

For the first ten seconds I thought it was real, but then I noticed the weird text on the McDonald's sign and the Coca-Cola cup. However, I didn't notice the missing undershirt, the straw in the fries container, and the man in the background wearing his hat backwards. To be fair, the straw in the fries container and the man wearing his hat backwards aren't dead giveaways that it's AI-generated. People wear hats backwards all the time (although admittedly that particular style of hat isn't worn backwards often), and the fries holder could've just been a makeshift trashcan (I'm not the only person who stuffs my wrappers, used napkins, and other trash in the fries holder, right?).

Instantly identifiable as AI. Nearly everything in the background betrays realism just as much as his shirt.

For me dead giveaway was the weird smoke pattern which is even in really good ai generated images looks often a bit off, not to mention the fact that is highly unlikely that you could smoke in McDonald's. Next thing is the lantern under the sign "Modlidani", it's like half-lantern. And it took me thankfully less than 15 sec and I'm still alive.

that one is easy, just look at the coke. Its AI generated. Took me 1 second. But I also work with AI a lot so I know where to look. I have to admit tho, I completely missed the shirt ! 🤣

The first thing I noticed was the dude's hand in the background

First is, of course, Coca Cola cup, then the way he holds a burger under hand on a table, the guy on the background makes a line inside a kids restaurant - those were things I noticed in the first 15 seconds

Took me about 5 sec to see that not much made sense in the photo. Straw in the fries, mangled Coke logo, the mangled burger, the mangled face and hat on the dude behind the dude. The strange "Modlidani" sign on the ceiling. Only cogerent thing in the pic is the moustanche dude himself.

There's a cup in between his hands, that doesn't really looks like it belongs there. The woman visible on the right side, not sure if she is topless or what's going on there but it sure looks weird. Parts of his burger looks like its melting into his hands or something. Wtf is the guy in the back doing with his arm? Is his hand coming off or what?
