Oil Filter Wrench
#oilfilter #oilfilterwrench #jaguarxtype
Today I'll show you how I make an oil filter wrench or an oil filter removal tool - for less than $1 and in less than 2 minutes. I've long since had an idea of making a simple but effective oil filter wrench so that to remove the stuck oil filter without damaging anything around it. I didn't make use of welding and didn't utilize any complicated constructions. My oil filter wrench was to be made very quickly and using extremely affordable tools and materials.
The video of changing engine oil of my Jaguar X-type without spilling a drop is here:

      Thank you for watching my videos! I have seen a video on CZcams about installing a cone type air filter - that guy measured and compared air temperature outside the radiator and inside the engine bay of his Jaguar X-type. As far as I remember the air inside is warmer only when the car is standing still, but the air temperature is nearly the same outside the radiator and inside the bay when the car is driving. By the way I don't refuse adding a third horn in the future as I have mentioned in my video. As for your experience, I am looking forward to seeing the results of it! Good luck!

      I clean the measuring elements of the Hot-Wire Mass Air Flow sensor with alcohol and dry it with a hair dryer. I don't clean the whole thing, but if some alcohol gets somewhere, it's highly evaporable and I believe it evaporates quickly enough. Moreover, I don't connect the sensor immediately, I give some time to the alcohol to evaporate.

      You can easily find out whether the motor matches or not. You can connect the fuel pressure gauge and try to run the engine at different RPMs. The fuel pressure shouldn't fall down. I found some relevant information about P0172, 0175 in the manual for the X-type and hope this helps. P0172, P0175 possible causes: Restricted air filter Leaking fuel injector(s) Fuel pressure sensor failure (high fuel pressure) ECM receiving incorrect signal from one or more of the following components: ECT Sensor( Engine coolant temperature), MAF Sensor( Mass air flow), IAT Sensor( Intake air temperature), IP Sensor( injector pressure), EFT Sensor( Engine fuel temperature), TP Sensor( Throttle position)

    I recently had my spark plugs and coils replaced on a 2003 jaguar X type 2.5 and a little over a month later my engine light came on and said the same problem again so maybe the parts I got were faulty because they weren’t jaguar parts they were aftermarket parts, so my mechanic said it’s probably the parts I bought, but the parts I bought have a three year warranty so now he said it’s either those or it could be a fuel injector because as of the things that whatever the little monitor said could possibly be wrong it was three different parts that were like the same thing with it so my question is, should I replace the coils again or should I risk it and see if it’s the fuel injector, and if he tears apart my engine to get to the coils, is that the same kind of thing to get to thefuel injectors, or is that extra different part of the engine and how much said that cost to replace as far as labor is concerned, I don’t trust my mechanic he says one thing, and then says another thing

    • @jaguarrroman
      @jaguarrroman Před 3 měsíci

      It depends on what the error code says. Are they the same codes as before and are they anyhow referring to misfiring or bad coils? I believe, you'd better consult another mechanic, let him diagnose your faults codes. As for the aftermarket parts, they leave much to be desired. I make use of only Jaguar parts, better pre-used than aftermarket.

    Cheers for this video, it’s a massive help. Getting a good camera angle of the bolts and clips as you undid them must’ve been difficult!

      Yes, I had to get under the car, luckily enough its back end is as high as some of today's SUVs.

    Thanks a lot for this content Roman. I managed to change plugs&coils in 5 cylinders with your method. On Cylinder 1 i finally quit after many tries and evil words to get out the screw. :-) Is it a special ratched ? As a screwdriver newbie im a little bit nervous to remove the intake. Greetings

      I'm happy my video helped you. As for the first cylinder coil unscrewing, I can add an update I did since the time of taking this video. I've got an 8 mm ratcheting wrench recently and doing the first cylinder became even more easier. You can also make use of above wrench and I believe you will cope with it.

      @@jaguarrroman Your vids are a very big help for the last few people on earth which keep these old cars in good condition. Thanks a lot. 5 cylinders took me 1 hour and bloody hands - In ur vid it looked more easy and elegant :-) An update vid of first cylinder would be wonderful. Didnt manage to set ratchet on top of bolt from behind. Got the vehicle from our grandpa who passed away - No way to sell it - needs constant care :-) Greetings from Austria

      @@user-co4ui3zk9p The same here - no way to sell Jag. An 8 mm ratcheting wrench will be very useful in your case - I will try and take an update video of it, but not very soon. Greetings from Georgia!

      Ratcheting wrench was the Jackpot :-) Thx a lot. Do you think upper and lower gaskets nevertheless should also be changed in next time even if intakte manifold wasnt removed ? Vehicle has 102 000 kilometers and 22 years. lg

      @@user-co4ui3zk9p Great! Upper gaskets last longer than lower ones, because on the upper side of the plastic "spacer" it is less hot than on the lower part of it. As for me, lower gaskets should be changed more often.
