I sold a ton of Express about 3 years ago because I found it NWT for $1 at the liquidation store. It did surprisingly well. I just don't know the brand well enough to pick it up regularly.

I’ve picked up fake uggs before. I’m terrible at remembering to check for fakes unless it’s bags.

Sorry! I don’t like hearing about bad brands because I forget once I get to the store and then I’m questioning why I know the brand 😅 it was Gibson & Latimer

That’s because we all grow out of small lol. Size smalls always seem to go on sale , I. The store while M . L, and XL, all sell out. So those lucky people who ware size S are just able to take advantage of sales

When I'm shopping I always wish I was a small for the amazing selection. I'm too tall for a small and haven't been since I was in middle school so I know it's not possible.

I used to stay away from Knox Rose but, I always thought their pieces were so lovely so I did some research and saw that the Sizes M+ in their dresses, especially midi and maxi sell so well. I've only sold 7-10 and they get interest immediately and sell quickly. Of course, the more unique / accents, the better. People are so in love with the Boho / Peasant style, it appears they don't care the brand.

If they have a high sell through (100%+) I will look through the most recent comps to see what they are consistently selling for at higher amounts. If you look at Dona Jo comps right now 5 of the 21 sales this week were around $30 so it happens pretty often.

LOVED the cauldron and of course Celine Dion. Lady Gaga was so campy and cute (as usual). I really enjoyed the opera heavy metal combo too. It was way more artsy than usual but it didn’t surprise me being that it was in Paris. I told my husband, imagine if it was in New Orleans, it would be a whole lot of the same. Payton Manning compared it to Mardi Gras for a reason, now I understand the French influence in Louisiana.

@TheCajunBelle Yes, the cauldron is so cool! I just read that it's made from LEDs, water mists, a giant balloon, and zero fossil fuels - the first one ever. Amazing.

@TheCajunBelle I agree with you and Peyton about the French/New Orleans connection too. It was a very artsy, chaotic, laissez-faire, avant-garde vibe. Apropos of both locations!

I think it didn’t surprise me as much because I grew up an hour from New Orleans. The things I have seen in that city 😅. Celine killed it and brought me to tears. I loved the cauldron air balloon too. More importantly I’m vegging on the couch today and watching!

It wasn’t the Last Supper. Olympics originated in Olympia, Greece and it is of Dionysus(a Greek God) coming to the table. Dionysus is the Greek god of festivities and wine, and is the father of Sequana, the goddess of the Seine River(which is in Paris). Since most of us aren’t familiar with Greek Gods and mythology it mostly resembled the Last Supper to us, but it isn’t.

You just reminded me to check if the New Orleans bins have opened yet. I’m so jealous of those with regular access to them. The liquidation store is Dirt Cheap. I don’t know if Dallas has one nearby but I have heard others talk about liquidation stores in Dallas. K&M Resell mentioned one in passing once so maybe check with them?

@@TheCajunBelle It was June 26 the first time I went to the bins and I swear I was on a thrifting high for the next two days. Couldn't wait to go back but then Dillards had the $3 sale on July 4th so I had to get some stuff from there too. But I made it back to the bins this past Tuesday and it was just as much fun as the first time. We did have a Dirt Cheap close to me but it was before I retired and I was only selling part time, so I wasn't that interested in checking it out. And now it's closed . . .Dang it! Thanks for your help :)

I've heard from others that the Texas Dirt Cheaps aren't so great anyway. It's weird how some are great and some are just terrible. I have a few nearby that I won't set foot in.

Besides the $3 sales , they will cycle through sales too, so older items will get lower over time. It's too far of a drive for me to go all the time to check for lower prices.

I really need to go back to mine soon. This is the time of the year they start getting rid of clothes to start stocking up for Christmas, so the prices should be really good.

So our temps do not get that high. We get "feels like 109" because of the humidity but in reality it will be between 95-98 usually. I haven't had any issues though. I only store clothes in the shed, all hard goods stay inside. I put aluminum foil over the windows so no light gets inside (it's not seen by anyone because the shed faces the woods behind our house). The shed itself was well insulated already with foam insulation in the walls and roof. I got it for free from my husband's workplace and they had used it for storage of flammables so I got lucky there. Another thing is that it is positioned behind our house and we have a really high roof. The sun does not reach that area until after noon and then by the hottest part of the day (2:00 here) the sun is behind a tree so it gets shade most of the day. I don't go in there during the summer after about 9 in the morning and honestly it's usually a mess all summer. I just live with the mess until it cools down. We don't really gets cool evenings and mornings unless it's raining. I use 2 mm thick bags and they protect pretty well, moisture was my main concern here. I haven't had any issues yet. We plan on getting a big shop soon and I will have half for my business. It will be in the direct sun all day so it will be interesting. An A/C unit is already planned and set to turn on once the temp reaches a certain point. We plan on powering it naturally (probably wind since we live on a hill and get a good bit).

Dillards has sales every week on certain items. I call their hotline in AZ to find out what the sales are.

The $3 sales are always around holidays. Usually Presidents Day, Memorial Day, and Labor Day. Your location will have a phone number you can call for a recording that tells what the sale is that week. They announce the sales on Thursdays and they usually start on that Thursday.

I haven’t been in more than a year now but I used to go to Jackson. The New Orleans bins are supposed to open in a few months. Last I read it was end of summer.

I started using topper because I noticed others using it and there was a better sell through and slightly higher sales prices. This was only on a few brands so take that with a grain of salt.

I think I’m just going to put all the words in there.

I forgot that part! I do them weekly so it ends on Thursday night (late as possible) and then I start a new one Friday morning. I have no idea if it helps or makes any difference, I’ve just always done it that way so it’s part of my weekly routine. I also split up the categories into separate sales, but once again, just how I’ve always done it. I’m sure I’ve heard from some reseller long ago to do it this way but who knows if it really matters.

Oh yes definitely. Every year gets better because you get better. It all gets easier over time too.
