Go raibh mile maith agat ar a sceal na mbadh!
Thanks for posting!
Great history of this wooden boats documentary, thanks for sharing ⛵ Greetings from beautiful Hawaii islands 🏝
What a wonderful way of explaining all the ropes and sails. That model is beautifully made.
Jonathan - thank you so much for posting this wonderful series of films. Probably the finest depiction of traditional working boats and the people who sailed them I've ever seen. The race at the end was thrilling - it's rare to see the true mayhem at a start shown so graphically! And they go so fast, it's unbelievable. A tribute to the sailing qualities of the gaff rig. I'm also very moved that nearly all the commentary is in the Irish language. Anyway, I'm now inspired to get back out to my cold workshop and a yet-to-be completed wooden boat!
One of the best traditional boat documentaries I've seen. The teaching sequence alternating (i) a large operating model, then (ii) the same action on a real hooker, was superb. Thank you for psoting!
thank goodness we have men like these
Hookers, seeing her again, needing a bit of work ... lovely film but not what I was expecting !
What joy to see these wonderful boats, and to hear Irish spoken as a living language. Loved the music, too.
Gaeilge nadúrtha deas
Always wondered where in Ireland you'd get such huge pieces of timber - they bolt the pices together in a giant jigsaw. Pretty resourceful.

I bought a 98yr old 25ft Pucàn resently and plan to refurbish over the winter.
@@SportingOccasions wish you a very successfull winter ! I sail a 1975 dutch victoire 22 and had a lot of ' experiance' by doing a major refit
Best of skills with your project.hope to see it here.
1971 the view of a hooker, sailing into roundstone harbour was reason for my passion of sailing ... a bigger model standing in front of my window since 30 years is wonderful to look at sail on !
A Beautiful sight
Works of art in full sail
And the boat with 20 barrels of porter was never seen again ... The porter that is ... the boat and badly hung over crew turned up 2 weeks later.... rofl
What porter? *Hic*
I just got a surprise when i saw this suggested youtube clip. There was my fathers face, talking about boatbuilding. He passed away two years ago. Go raibh maith agaibh as ucht an píosa seo a roinnt linn. Bhí sé aiseach a eadan a fheiceal ar an gcaoí seo arís.
Gman Brian
Boom good night
come on Bryan
P.S cheers to uploader for this video
A great fight, good technique from both fighters. Philips cardio let him down and James obvious boxing skills were his strongest point. A great demonstration of 2 fighters from different fighting backgrounds combining traditional boxing and karate with kickboxing. Well done to both of you, a great display of skill and guts.
That lad would make some pro boxer
Brilliant Jonathan
Thanks John, I need to get quicker on the focusing and smother on the zooming.. Happy enough with it though.
