    Hey, thanks for these videos! Hope you are better now. I am still so confused, because everyone kept saying, including my surgeon that I should not feel pain during my PT sessions, BUT my PT sessions hurt like hell, because my range of motion has been compromised obviously by protecting my rotator cuff and wearing the sling for weeks. So, when we do the exercises, obviously a lot of muscles around my shoulder and arm are stiff as hell and they hurt like hell to stretch them out. I was wondering if your PT also mentioned that you have to go through pain NOT in the surgical area, but around it to loosen up those muscles again. Thanks!

    • @clu801
      @clu801 Před 2 dny

      Hello! Thank you for the kind words and yes, I am doing GREAT thanks for asking. That is funny that people told you it wouldn't be painful during PT. I had experienced the complete opposite. In fact, the first time I went to PT they asked me what I was there for, what was my injury? I told them a rotator cuff and heard gasps from everyone within earshot. Then the nice lady at the desk informed me that it's the worst recovery in PT that anybody can go through. So yes, to answer your question, I was very much in pain during PT while they were trying to increase my range of motion breaking the muscles loose again was painful. Yeah, but with that in mind, you have to stick with it because PT is very important to a good recovery. I wish you the best luck on your recovery. God bless!

      @@clu801 i really appreciate you taking the time to reply, thank you very much! It's quite reassuring to hear your experience as well, that there is indeed a lot of pain involved. I really had no idea it'd be this rough. It is manageable, but I'm glad noone sees me besides my PT when I'm moaning like hell due to the pain of the exercises 😅. Thanks again and all the best!

    Great video! I will be at 7 weeks on Monday. My sling came off last week and my shoulder is so stiff and achy. I was scared that I my surgery may have failed, but maybe it’s normal. Sleep is awful for me, and worse than it’s been this past week. Do you recall your lower bicep being super tight and sore when trying to sleep? Thank you!

    • @clu801
      @clu801 Před 2 dny

      Hello, thank you for your comment! First, I am sorry you are going through this recovery. The fear of re-injury during recovery was always there for me. It drove me nuts. And yes, it will be a while before you are getting normal sleep, but it does start getting better each week. As for the bicep. I remember having pains in lots of strange places that were not near the injury or surgical site. I think my PT told me that it is muscles overcompensating or even struggling after not being used for so long. For me, it was like right above my elbow, not quite triceps or biceps, and it would just feel very sore all the time. I wish you the best on your recovery, hang in there as it gets easier week by week. God bless!

      Thank you so much for getting back to me. Hopefully I someday make a full recovery like you did. I honestly feel like I did at 7 weeks like I did prior to surgery which I s very discouraging. I had felt so much better weeks 1 through 6. It’s hard for me to imagine that this pain at this stage is normal. Hearing from you that it is from your experience is encouraging that it’s part of the healing process.

    Hi! I fractured my greater tuberosity in two places and the surgical neck of the humerus! I don’t know,but I suspect I tore my supraspinatus! I am 6mos post injury. I and finished with therapy but I am still recovering with daily exercises! BecauseI HAVE not had an MRI,I really do not know the status of the rotator cuff muscles. But the bones had to heal and stabilize first So, I may get an MRI in two months if my shoulder is still hurting! I really do not want surgery but it may be necessary. Thanks for your video! You will be much better in 6months! I am older and want to use my right(dominant) arm for playing the cello! I do 1pound weight exercises and the rubber bands and active stretches , pulleys and my arm feels much better with these daily exercises! But swimming is not good overhead! Ok for the breast stroke! Did you have to offset that rear flow wheel for it to fit? Awesome video and agree with every upgrade you said. These are the exact same upgrades I have on my two bikes as well haha. One thing to note though with that air wedge that I have noticed though is if pump it up to much the battery charger connector smashes into the frame so be careful of that, don't want the charger connector to bend in. I put a CM thick rubber pad on the opposite side so it stays pushed away from the front side.

    Good tips. A direct mount stem is also a reasonably cheap upgrade - stops the old school handlebar slip/twist and adds strength. Riser mounts and/or spacers can get you up to 3" rise with stock bars - then riser bars can go higher - just remember the length of brake and electrical cables if you're maxing it or thinking "chopper Surron".

    • @clu801
      @clu801 Před 21 dnem

      Yes, this is one of the reasons I have not gone to a direct Mount stem yet, is because my brake cables are definitely not long enough. I had to move the brake levers in just going to the riser handlebar. So I will wait until I get new brakes and I’ll get a direct stem mount as well at the same time.

    What’s the difference between warp 9 pegs and the cheap Amazon ones?

    • @clu801
      @clu801 Před 22 dny

      I would say the big difference would be that there is more wiggle room where the spring goes in the Amazon footpegs, this lets the spring move side to side and can come undone, which I solved by just putting a ziptie in there so the spring will not move back and forth. Other than that, I couldn't really see a difference. My cheap footpegs have held up great.

    Your videos are very informative! I am at the 5 week mark, but still in the sling. My next doctor visit is on July 22 where I believe will be the day the sling comes off. It’s great to see that yours came off at week 5, since typically they say 6 weeks. I have been going to therapy since day 2 post surgery doing all passive exercises. This week I started doing chest presses with the plastic pvc pipe. It’s crazy how tight and achy my shoulder is. Did you feel the same at this mark? I always get concerned about tearing it again with how achy and tight it feels when doing the exercises. Were you also immediately able to drive after the sling came off and did you drive back to work at this time too? Thank you in advance for taking time out to answer my questions.

      Hi, thanks for watching and your kind words! Yeah, my sling off at 5 weeks was nice. I definitely started PT later than you. At 5 weeks my shoulder was very tight and I, like you, was super paranoid about re-injury. The tightness and soreness is totally normal. Easy for me to say, but I know you will still be worried. It's part of the recovery ;) I did drive right after the sling came off. It wasn't too bad. Just have to be mindful of everything going on. Keep your spirits up! that is the best thing I can offer. It wasn't technical or steep like these trails, just lots of switchbacks and weaving up through some cool terrain. • @clu801
      @clu801 Před měsícem

      Here is the thing. I think it could be worth it if you try to register it. They are great bikes for that purpose. Here are the things to think about. If you register it. You will have to pay taxes on it, insure it, etc. Also another thing to consider is that Sur-ron's have an actual VIN / Serial that can show up in the database making them much easier to register than other bikes. Keep that in mind. If all this sounds like way too much to deal with, its probably not worth.

      I feel like there are so many e-moto's out there now they can't just ignore it anymore. I used to ride by cops all the time with no issue. I think the safest thing to do now would be to try and get it registered. As for stunting. Lol that is very risky since they will hit you with a reckless driving citation which can be very expensive.

    Anyone reading this now , he is spot on , had the same major full tear Supra , surgeon did 3 direct anchors with one additional on each side for suture securing . So 5 total. First 2 weeks impossible to sleep much it sucked big time. But turned corner in week 3 some and now I'm about 4 1/2 weeks out And taking the sling off to do gentle swings and circles and I can tell the shoulder is healing is feels good and is ready for PT. About 10 more days with the sling . It is what it is, get comfortable wearing it, best thing is you get a lot of sympathy from people out and about! Lol . We moved during my recovery so Imagine that, I did a shit-ton with one arm and you will adapt to everything as well one arm in time . To all Worried , don't be . Just realize it's gonna be a rough go for a couple weeks and you will feel so much better day after day , and from I'm told , you will get 💯 again ! Just have to be cautious your activity and risk (mountain biking , skiing , ect.. ) because I can tell you, you won't want to go through it again ! ✌️

      Hey thanks for the comment! First, I am sorry you are going through it. It has to be the worst thing I have endured. Second, you can get back to 💯. Here I am many years later and I don't even think about it when I am out riding dirt bikes or playing sports. Since this surgery I have broken my opposite collar bone and still didn't really think about the rotator until I was recovering from the collarbone break. It was like 5% of the anguish of the rotator, and I was in a good mood most of the time because I knew it would be a cake walk in comparison. So yeah, hang in there, do the things they tell you to do and be religious about it. I wish you the best on your recovery! God bless!

    Hi! Thanks for sharing your experience. I have been following along your videos since I decided to get rotator cuff surgery. I’m at 8 and half months post op. I had frozen shoulder after surgery, so the surgery had to do manipulation after anesthesia at 4 and half months post op. I had been making great progress since the second surgery. How much weight can you lift at 8 or 9 months post op? I lifted and moved a bike rack( about 25 pounds) with both arms from the garage to the car trunk and pushed with my right arm ( surgery shoulder side) and I had been experiencing pain and soreness for almost a week. I still went biking for 65K in the mountains that day and did a big hike yesterday. I thought I would be better by now, but I’m still in pain. 😭 I’m so worried that I might have retorn the tendon. My surgeon is away so I’ll have to see another doctor next week. I’m so worried and really hope that I didn’t retear the tendon. Could you please give me some insight?

    • @clu801
      @clu801 Před 2 měsíci

      Hello! I am so sorry you are going through it right now. It's super scary to think about re-injury. I am pretty sure I was lifting 15lbs around then. I know I overdid it a few times and was sore and super worried. Think about where the pain is. Is it right where the repair was? Or is it more muscle. I know its hard to tell but I would imagine that you just strained your muscle/tendon and its sore. I am not the Dr. or an expert by any means. I know when I was scared my Dr. told me I would know if it was re-injured. That didn't really comfort me, how could he be so sure. I was scared to death because its the worst thing ever to go through. I suggest taking it easy on your shoulder for a bit. Make sure to take some anti-inflammatory meds. Ice it more often. See how it comes along. You have my best wishes! Good luck and God bless!

      @@clu801 Thank you so much for your reply! Your words did comfort me a bit, however, I’m still scared as it had been a week and I am still in pain. I did ask my surgeon and physiotherapist a few times as what would cause retear. They both said a sudden fall and have my arm stretch out and land on the arm or shoulder would cause retear. When I’m thinking of my pain, it feels like it’s all over my shoulder and neck and back. Sometimes it does feel the surgical area is painful too. Sometimes the pain goes all the way to my forearm and fingers. I’m not getting any better today and I’m extremely scared. I don’t know if the hike would cause more strain on my shoulder since I had to use my shoulders quite a bit with hiking poles. We still got so much snow in the mountains(Canada). I saw my chiropractor last Thursday and he said that I strained a bit and had shockwave treatment. I’m seeing him tomorrow again and see what he says. I’m seeing another surgeon on Thursday and really hope that she would say the same thing. I really appreciate your kind words and wishes. I’ll update with you after I see the surgeon. Thanks again! Kayla

      @@clu801Hi! I just want to update with you regarding my doctor visit. Good news is that she said i did not ruin the repair as I did not lose any strength. She said that’s the best indicator that I didn’t retear the tendon. She also said that the pain might last up to 6 weeks. Because what I have been through (having frozen shoulder and had to go through manipulation under anesthesia) would put me full recovery up to 1 year and half. I’m getting better and have to be more patient. My recovery got delayed than most patients. Patience, patience, and patience is the key! Thank you again and I’ll keep positive attitude!
