G640s don't fray and doesn't use a coating anymore. You can make non-stitched pads that don't fray, I bought a G640 on release (2015), used it exclusively as my main pad and it never frayed.

The hairs are actually going to affect the performance. That's why I'm disappointed with zero. I would actually go Hien or just grab the Lethal Gaming Saturn / Saturn Pro. Lethal gaming is an artisan copy. Even before anything, Artisan was selling their pads on Lethal Gaming's site. But since Lethal Gaming made their own pads ( which are very similar to Artisan's ), they are not selling it. Also, they are using very similar fabric but they actually fixed the hair problem and it's only 40$ instead of 70-80$. Or get the Hien.

Inspired by this. - New optical razer switches (from amazon) - Removed sidebuttons - Removed backplate - Lubed scroll encoder - Swapped silicon ring on scroll wheel - Completely sanded bottom - Applied grip tape - Applied corepads For fingertip this is amazing... I don't at all notice the lift-off as a problem tbh.

arc 1 is the most consistent feet and it's for control. arc 3 (ice) is for speed. arc 2 is the worst of the arc series as it's a strange mix of control and speed and it's very inconsistent before and after break-in. lol
