It seems to me that these two styles were born as an offshoot of the Miami Vice Color style. Palm trees and wheelbarrows are just attributes of the Miami Vice style. Since there were no clear boundaries - and the designers adopted the visual effect - this is probably how these gradations appeared. If you're using lastest version of AE and you don't see blend modes, switch to "Classic 3D" render in comp settings.

Ephtracy is honestly absolutely leagues ahead of all of their competition with Magicavoxel. There isn't even a close second competitor. I'm not saying this to be a hater. Magicavoxel is just that good. Don't even debate the other pieces of software, just get it. You won't regret it whatsoever. It's such an easy to use and intuitive piece of software.

after going through several videos by several tutors online, I think I have understood more or less how the space behaves for all layer types except Text layer. When I type in a text, the anchor point is either at the bottom left, bottom center or bottom right ( depending on text alignment selected in paragraph panel) with the anchor point value on the layer panel (0,0). However the default position of anchor point on the text is not quite at the bounding box, if I force it with anchor point tool the value of anchor point changes. So what's going on there. Am I missing something? Do I have to turn some settings on/ off ?
