Good video, I bought the same model and colour 4months ago as a retirement present as it’s the only bike I can get the wife to pillion on. Can’t fault a single thing, best bike I have owned in 40years of on road biking. Blackpool Honda couldn’t have been better to deal with, let me have the bike for a day to try it out and to see if the missus would be happy on. Service plan you suggest is great value too. As comments say, it’s a lot of money, but 40 years of work, I think I am owed it, and I am getting the miles in with the wife enjoying it too. DCT is a must if you want an easy life, manual if that’s your thing is also available.

@@birchwoodbiker Yes. They are pretty raw for a 600cc sport compared to what is available today. I liken them to the Mt-10 to the R1. Basically Yamaha said they were going to go all out and put an R6 into a sport and skimp on injection and play games detuning the thing for torque and it backfired. They replaced it on the market as quick as possible with the FZ6R. Again. It's not a beginner bike.....but the price point was there. Yamaha went full retard. I was riding with a bud who has an early Raider 1900 with a tuned power commander and I wrapped right around him both on full throttle and he is experienced with that bike. He was at a loss for words when we stopped for him to gas his gorgeous hog up. They're special little things. Not Super sports. But damn, they're quick and comfortable.

However I live in the Black Mountains in Wales with snotty little lanes and even when I get to Motorways and A roads, these days they're like Nepalise mountain tracks after they've been bombed. Therefore unless I move to France or California I'll have to stick to my GS.

Hi Paul. Interesting vid on the Golf Wing. Talking of economy , I ride my NC from Halifax to camp in North Wales, then do the Horseshoe Pass, arrive back in the garage just before the fuel light comes on, doing about 74mpg with all the camping gear on. If I do a straight run from Halifax to Scarborough (where it’s a bit flatter) with no camping gear it’s touching 80mpg. I’m not hanging around either, I’m running the manual gearbox.

My second bike would be my ZZR1441 My third bike is a classic (I own an old Kawasaki) A Gold-Wing in my garage would be relegated to 4th position. My issues are it is not overly good for filtering on British A-roads. It isn't overly good at dealing with nadgery little lanes in the Scottish Highlands, and it is a heavy old beast around town. I reckon these bikes are ideal if you live in the US of A, or you wish to ride to Palermo in Sicily. Don't get me wrong, having owned a GL1800 they are truly incredible machines, but they have a very limited appeal for the riding I do...Hence I sold mine.

Great bikes. Without doubt the most comfortable bike I’ve ever ridden. I loved my little go on one. But I was devastated when I gave the keys back because I can’t afford one.

Nice couple of video's you have done there of the new Goldwing DCT. I too went for test rides on bikes with my Mrs like the BMW K1600, RT1250 but did not feel right for us. We then went down to Blackpool Honda superstore were we test rid the Goldwing for the day, by the end of that day we were both sold on having one. We now have owned Goldwing for the last six months and what a great six months its been, it as got my Mrs back out in the saddle again enjoying biking. The best thing is i have a Kawasaki ZH2 as well in the garage so have best of both worlds, thanks again for the videos the mirrors are not electric you move the glass by hand 👍 and glad you found the hand brake in the end 🙂 Regards Gary

I am 70 and bought my 2nd hand wing last July it’s a 21plate full tour. I’ve had bikes my whole life, my last one was a VN900 classic which i owned for 14 years, i had major heart surgery in 22. The wing was my prize to me for surviving 2022. I love it to bits i wish i was ten years younger as im sure this machine will out live me. 😅
