Hello everyone and welcome! As an outdoor enthusiast, I try to spend most of my spare time hiking, backpacking, kayaking or mountain biking. Now I have taken up a new hobby of making these videos in hopes of getting others inspired to get outside. I live in Florida, so most of our trips will be in the good ol' Sunshine State, however we do enjoy traveling to other places out of state so you'll get plenty of mountains also! Most of the videos will be backpacking trips but there will probably be paddling trips, car-camping trips and gear reviews thrown in for good measure! Once again, thanks for checking out the channel. See ya on the trail! -Travis

Graham Swamp mountain bike trail is an approximately 7-mile loop trail in Flagler Beach, Florida. It is a surprisingly challenging terrain, considering that it is only a couple of miles from the beach. It's a ton of fun, the trail maintainers do a fantastic job, and it's well worth a visit!! Enjoy
Paisley Woods MTB Trail - Central Florida
zhlédnutí 3,4KPřed 5 lety
20 mile loop in the Ocala National Forest. a great cruising trail, with some undulating hills on the eastern half of the loop. This would be a great bike packing route, connecting Clearwater Lake Rec Area with Alexander Springs. Could be very sandy if there hasn't been much rain. It had been raining everyday (typical Florida summer) when I did this loop, so the trail was in excellent condition....
Backpacking Colorado's amazing "4-Pass Loop." Maroon Bells Wilderness / Aspen, CO

This is an amazing 28 mile loop trail in Colorado's Rocky Mountains. Located just outside of Aspen, this loop involves crossing 4 passes, each over 12,000ft altitude. This trip was done in a clockwise direction. Unfortunately, I lost almost all of my audio (narration) from the trip, so I had to put the video to music. Hope you enjoy!

This was a fun day hiking at Chimney Rock State Park in Chimney Rock, NC. What an amazing place with stunning views. We climbed all of the stairs to all of the lookouts, squeezed through the rock tunnels and crevices, then hiked down the Hickory Nut Falls Trail to the waterfall. This was a great day of exploring on a cold day in North Carolina!

SoBo from Cassia Trailhead (SR 44) to Bear Pond Trailhead (SR 46) on the Florida National Scenic Trail. This is day two of our trip up to Mount LeConte Lodge. On this day we experienced crazy wind that had caused a lot of power outages and damage in the town of Gatlinburg, as well as everywhere in the Smoky Mountain National Park and up the east coast. Rainbow Falls was the highlight waterfall of this descent down the mountain from the Lodge.

Beautiful, how did your get to island sort of a go to guide from Florida
Ill be going there next week.
It’s a great trail and very scenic. Have fun!
@@travisscrambling2105 i appreciate it thank you i will.
Do you have a gps link to where exactly the area you parked at to then be able access the trailhead? TIA
Thanks Travis. I was looking for a trail near me and came across this video you made for Paisley Woods Bicycle Trail. I think I'll give it a try today. Thanks to your video. 😀
Bro i found your channel looking for Alexandra spring camping, and yours came up from 4 Year's... Its amazing the endeavors your making with your friends camping and hiking. It really inspires me to take my family on trips like yours .
God bless the memory of Pamela Nater (1946-1966) and Nancy Leichner (1945-1966), still missing after being abducted from Alexander Springs Recreation Area on October 2, 1966.
Thanks for the video. We just did this today. So amazing! Love North Carolina!
Was Alexander Springs the kind of place tat you could leave your camp gear, chairs, etc. out during the day, or did you pack up visible stuff while away from the campsite?
You can definitely leave gear out during the day. The actual springs are a short walk away but there are usually always people around. It’s a super popular campground. I haven’t heard of any issues.
so are you saying those campgrounds on the trail are designated "walk-in"s (park at the entry) or are they accessible from outside the main entrance? planning a trip, wanting the cheapest option farthest from RV's
There are walk-in sites outside of the park, but there isn’t anywhere to park for them close by. They are pretty much just used by long distance, or multi-day, backpackers since the Florida National Scenic Trail passes right by there. But if you are parking at a trailhead somewhere and backpacking through that area, you can definitely stay at those sites without going into the park. Hope that helps.
Great hike 👍 neat to see the Bison 😎
Thank you! It was a great trip. I was so upset to realize that I hadn’t pressed record on my camera during the entire bison ordeal :(
Which season?
I enjoyed this yesterday, but do not want to be out there May thru October.
Hi Travis , great channel & content ! I’m a new subscriber . I’m trying to put my own channel together focused on my hiking & kayaking adventures here in Pennsylvania. I’m nowhere near the level of enthusiast expertise & video production that you are , however; you inspire me to reach further ! Thanks for sharing your awesome adventures :) Sean EDIT : I’m wondering what program you edit with and get your music pieces from ?
Thanks for the comment. I use Filmora for editing and Epidemic Sound for the music
Very Cool..👍thanks..
Sorry for the ignorant question, but what are the black things you’re wearing on your legs?
Haha not an ignorant question! They are gaiters. I liked wearing them on hikes in Florida because they helped to keep the sand out of my shoes and socks.
That’s a great idea. Thanks!
Approximate total weight of your packs?
Mine was a little over 30lbs because I was carrying all of the food in a bear canister. Hers was only around 22 ish. We also carried a few “luxury” items, like the backpacking chairs. We could have gone much lighter, but weren’t really too concerned with the weight on this trip.
@@travisscrambling2105 cool , thx, doing the TCT soon and I like to ask pack weight because sometimes its hard to guesstimate from videos. Appreciate you taking the time to shoot and edit the video.
Did you park at Rodman?
I was dropped off at Rodman. My girlfriend dropped me off, then picked me up a few days later at Clearwater Lake.
@@travisscrambling2105 4hr ride for us so Im trying to plan a trip where we can park and then schedule a ride back. Might have to go NOBO
I see this trail is permanently closed - any idea why
No, I did not know that!
How sandy was most of the trail and what time of year did you do this ride? (Wondering if it gets to swampy in summertime)
I think this was toward the end of August, or early September. The trail wasn’t nearly as sandy as I had expected it to be. Other than a few spots, it was relatively fast and packed. It is pretty high, we’ll-drained soil in this part of the forest so I doubt it gets swampy at all. The trail was a lot of fun. I would highly recommend riding into Alexander Springs and taking a break. They have snacks and drinks. Then, head back to the trailhead. It makes for a great ride.
How long of a hike is it till you got to your first open view?
Not long at all from that parking area. Probably less than a half mile. It opens up right away!
Thanks for this video! Can you pls post, how much time is needed in chimney rock to cover all recommend spots?
i can bring you u the best spots!!!
Hats off to all of the volunteers and park rangers who maintain these awesome trails. Your work is appreciated!
Beautiful! We’re going here in June 😀
Have fun! It’s a beautiful park!
Catalina is really so special - people don't realize it! My husband and I are debating doing something like this soon but via bike.
While we were there we saw a few people biking the island. It looked like a blast! As an avid cyclist, I would LOVE to go back and do that one day. Have fun!
@@travisscrambling2105 Ya it seems like a blast to gravel ride around! I'm looking into it a bit now.
Hey great video and great music. I’m doing farles to Clearwater this weekend. Any idea how many miles that is?
Hi there! New subscriber from California! I’ve been to Catalina many times, but never hiked the Trans-Catalina trail. But we are planning a trip for this year sometime. This was an awesome video! Thanks for all the info...
GRANDMA ON THE GO!! Thanks for the comment! I’m glad you enjoyed it. The island was amazing! You’ll have a wonderful time. I can’t wait to go back!
@@travisscrambling2105 yes it’s beautiful! I’ve been there actually when I’m on a cruse so couldn’t hike. But my best friend and I love hiking and we have so many places we’d like to go hike at, but that one is for sure on the top of our list.. thanks for subscribing! My channel has a little bit of everything, family, fun, food and travels. But hopefully it’ll be more hikes. Stay safe and looking forward to watching your videos... oh, and I will shared your videos as well!
Lol, every video of this place on yt starts off with a hipster tune intro
This is great, I just moved to Ormond from Oregon, I will have to get my my fuel EX 9 out and tackle this
Jared McConnell there is another good trail near there called Mala Campra. It’s also a small, fun system near the beach, only about 10 minutes from Graham Swamp.
Hi new friends. We are heading to Chimney Rock next week for Thanksgiving and enjoyed watching your video to give us an idea of what to expect. It's cool that you're actually walking inside the rocks. Thanks for sharing. Have clicked the buttons so we can be friends. We have some videos you may enjoy. Come check us out.
How did you arrange to have water and firewood in that locker at Parsons Landing?
Tom Drake we stopped by the Conservancy office as soon as we got off the boat (in Two Harbors) and had it arranged. It was super easy. I think it was $20. You could probably even just call ahead of time.
Sure fished that river for a lot of year's beautiful and great fishing I am old now and have the memorys God surely she'd his grace on me 🎣🐟👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
Enjoyed. Thanks for sharing.
how long did this take you?
J GiL only about an hour each way. 2 hours total. Maybe a little less.
very cool video! I'm doing the exact same hike in 28 days! Covid willing lol
Andrew Cannan good luck and have fun!! It’s amazing!
Does has electricity plugging??
That's one of my favorite spots to hike in the area. So many pigmy rattlesnakes and water moccasins though!
agreed! pigmy's are everywhere out there! I have only seen one water moccasin on the trail but I'm sure there are a lot
Thanks for this. It's very helpful. My daughter and are making this trek in December. Can you tell me how you kept your electronics charged?
Susan Catherine absolutely! Anker power banks have always worked flawlessly for me. I have a 20000mAh, and a 10000mAh. I kept everything charged (phone, camera, Garmin gps, gps watch, headlamps, etc.) for 5 days and still had power left. They are relatively cheap and well worth the money! Have a great trip!
@@travisscrambling2105 Much appreciated! Thanks so much.
This is excellent! Thanks so much for recording the journey.
Thank you!
Beautiful video! How long does it take you to finish this hike?
Trizzie Nguyen we did it in 4 days, 3 nights. We took our time and enjoyed the scenery.
Nice video but turn down the sound on the music please!
I hiked opposite direction this year, my first time! Next time, I go backwards like you! Great colors, very vivid!
Fabulous video! Thank you so much for sharing ... we love this trail too!
One of our favorite trails. So much to see ... and full of surprises! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for this video. This is a great place to bring my little ones and get them started. Awesome trails, video and explanation.
Great video. Thank you. I have been wanting to do this trail. Now I am ready to head on over and do so. Don’t live too far from Clearwater Lake.
Love that you showed packing camping gear in a car. We take our family of 4 camping in a Chevy Cruz. We look like a clown car unloading. So much fun tho.
What time of year was this done in?
Helicase this was the end of September. Weather was perfect.
Thanks for putting up the video, I think I'm headed up that way now in the heat of summer. Any chance you could post a link to your GPX of the route?
I am supper excited to see this hike. We are headed to grotto falls tomorrow happy hiking
