I found this song randomly a while back and thought the dance from the music video was kinda cool, so I made an animation out of it. Thought it'd be fitting for a stray to be the dancer. I started making this about 2 years ago but stopped part way through for like a year. Finally went through with it. Thanks for watching.
The most time consuming part of the animation was trying to replicate the dance. It turns out that animating someone dancing is pretty hard, and it's kinda the reason I gave up on it for a year.
Did my best with the cloth physics, but there are still some issues with it here and there; overall I think it's good. I realized that after "have a seat," I needed to change my approach on lighting, so I went all out this time. I put more time into lighting than I usually do, thinking about how I can make the character pop from the background, more depth, etc.
I considered youtube's compression as well, so whenever I thought a light source was "bright enough," I'd make it twice as bright. If I thought there was enough color, I'd add more anyway. I decided that I'd rather overcorrect than undercorrect. Thanks for reading this far, and for not unsubbing after a year of not uploading anything.

This animation, to be honest and sincer. I consider this one of the best animations and something fair for the world of Minecraft. Even if it's just a game and not a chaotic world.

Imagine that gooem as a mod
Hey, how small do your polygons have to be to simulate fabric like that? I'm trying to simulate clothes of about the same fabric type as this but it's not working so well for me, so I'm wondering if I don't have enough polys (or maybe I should turn down the stretch resistance a bit...?). For that matter, roughly how long did it take to simulate this?
Each pixel on the clothing is 16 faces, although sometimes you can get away with 4 faces per pixel. I'm using a second "paper thin" mesh to act as both the cloth simulation, and a surface deform for the ACTUAL cloth mesh. This helps the cloth keep its blocky shape as much as possible, and can help fix potential glitches at the cost of a little bit of realism. Baking took a LONG time. I often would watch youtube while they were baking, check results, tune settings, then repeat. The time it'd take varied depending on how long the simulation was, I'd say 5-15 minutes per bake I think. The reason why it took so long was because I went with REALLY high stiffness values, like 80+ on some of the settings. This would cause the simulation to vibrate depending on how high the values were. Setting the quality steps to an insane number like 60-100 would make it stop. The high stiffness values kinda gave me what I was looking for so I went with it. I feel like this is a bug, but I also don't think this is the way you're supposed to do it. It sort of gave me the result I was looking for though. There's almost no documentation online on exactly what the cloth simulation settings do. A lot of people just say "experiment with it," which isn't helpful at all.
@@UncleSalad That Is Scary. I think my computer would just Die doing that many polys, since it already takes a while simulating what I have. So I guess my main issue is that I need more polys, but I may have to simply forego the simulation if it takes too long. Are tris or quads better?
I think quads are the intended way, but I'm not 100% sure, I'd look that one up. I also failed to mention that the reason the simulations took so long is because of the high quality step value, usually about 8-10 is fine unless you're doing complicated stuff.
