This is good news for the hobby. If these types of machines can be used to scan mummy sarcophagus, meteorites, etc., they can scan flimsy tin sports card cases. Anytime money is involved, there will be fraud. You've done the right thing by ripping the band-aid off and exposing this stuff. Let the Great Rip begin!
Nick has inspired me to start collecting CT scanners!
Stuff cost to much as is, add this into it and so long.
Sue, that Greedy company Frank, make them pay, & go after that No good C.E.O.
âŠ.I donât think there was any question this was possible..
Vintage will rule again! I think the only corner of the hobby that's affected are the expensive pack/box buyers and breakers... Nothing personal, but I will lose zero sleep when that aspect of collecting goes bye-bye.
I still feel the urge to buy boxes. But the hobby has been ruined by greed. It wonât recover.
Agreed. I think the âGreat Rippingâ has begun and a lot of this stuff will just get opened. Will make to most sense to just rip.
@@SportCardMadness the âGreat Rippingâ is a perfect term! Well said đ

You need lead.
Kids handling lead though? I think the solution will be boring redemption cards.
I really donât understand why these low life people go to such great lengths to undermine/scam the true collectors, hobbyists, buyers. Itâs another story that is absolutely incredibly sad for the sports card industry. To many scams to try and make money and itâs just getting worse and worse. Time for these people to get ââd out of business. Everyday itâs a new scam alert itâs getting out of hand. Thatâs why I try and stay away from wax and in my opinion you will start to see a lot more people doing the same thing because storyâs like this. Donât let things like this ruin your love for the hobby, even though itâs not right we have to understand their will always be those bad apples. Letâs stay alert & letâs not let the bad actors shy us away from what we have enjoyed doing for years and years.
Its a sad state of affairs. Its tempting to just delete everything and walk away to be honest.
This man should sue them . what a complete croc.
Dave & Adams??? Donât they have their store in upstate NY?
You are absolutely correct... This has been rumored for years and it's now being confirmed via multiple accounts so I wouldn't doubt, higher end boxes especiallyl, have been compromised for a while
@@michaelhinkle7693 Totally agree
its cards my guy, its weird that adults still collect playing cards.
@@Noticegiven I think of it as more of an asset class to diversify my overall portfolio. Similar to art, but I only mess with vintage high end cards.

Hi Nick, thanks for dropping this. I almost took a loan out against my 401K with an 4.5% rate for a 1948 Leaf Jackie Robinson PSA 4 that was gorgeous. I was willing to cap any future earnings on that $15K to 4.5% while I paid it back and saw it as a win-win.... but my wife made me realize this was more impulse than acquiring a forever card, which I admitted would eventually be upgraded to a PSA 6. We live, we learn. Thanks for the great content!
Thanks! You made a wise decision. Your wife sounds awesome!
Tag someone that might know this area and have more information.
Made me question his credibility when he said trimming can be hard to spot cuz it could be just centimeters đđđ a centimeters is huge, the whole card is 6.4 centimeters wide hahahađđđđ
WOW, you got me thinking again if i wanna send cards to psa. Thank you for sharing.
They need better branding.
This is great for those unopened packs that are worth money
Great video. Very kind offer. I hope to someday support my hobby by selling my cards at 100k plus cards, I haven't sold one yet. Been researching for abt 1yr now. Also I think you should stress what is fair for someone who wants to unload a collection i.e the collector selling to a hobby shop 1 time. I think they need to realize the work to list or sell, or hope to grade a raw card. Obviously this has specific situations, imo, like Jordan, Mantle, and Lebron are easier to sell than a 4th year Mike Schmidt. I just keep seeing in my head a Pawn Stars episode where a guy brings in a 1 of a kind item and the owners like "I gotta have it sit on my shelf for a year before it sells" That's not true for rare stuff Anyway, maybe it goes without saying but unless you are selling to Joe Public don't expect full price comp.
@@nextplanet2960 Totally agree!
my view is PMG cards are fabricated... not organic, This tactic began with 1980's where card companies would create error cards on purpose.. thus, the hobby finds out and updates print plates.. thus, the chase for the error. Upper Deck began chase cards with Reggie, Score did likewise with Mantle... PMG's are just evolution of chase (fabricated) nothing wrong with fabricated low pop.. but I prefer organic low pop, like signed Jackie Robinson RC, 1952T signed Mantle, 1952 signed Berk Ross Mantle, these all could have been done by collectors and for the various reasons, not so pop is low.. granted, this is personal preference... and no doubt PMG prices and demand is sky high... so, I cannot argue they are popular..
thanks for helping a collector get ear of PSA. it is a shame, PSA and others have to be shamed for action. Thus, without your help, PSA put the customer in endless voice mail loop with hopes they give up and just go away. We have this type from our local news channel, where one of the staffer helps the consumer where the businesses, ignore the issue... until they get someone who will take their case on and out the company on the local news segment.
I'm just glad it helped.
Jsa makes mistakes too. We send an MJ autograph it came back rejected then return it to the seller and he submitted it back to jsa and pass the autograph. Get Goat authentics if your you want fair authentication for Michael Jordan autographs

my question to Nat Turner are: The psa 8 Honus Gretzky card, it is known to be trimmed, and still got psa 8 grade and not altered. sure, before Nat's tenure as psa ceo. What is his view on the trimmed psa 8 Honus? we know, items can sneak thru... as is case of the Honus psa 8. 2nd question, is psa 10 Gretzky OPC 10, has rough edges... yes, we know OPC cutting blades were dull thus, not crisp cuts.. but how can OPC get psa 10 if rough cut?? does psa give the OPC rough cut a hall pass??? as they did not use sharp blades???
I went to JSA long ago for auto authentication... Spence and his staff are the only one's I trust. PSA has a bunch of amateurs authenticating autos..
Imo you canât invest in a veteran position player that has already had success. Itâs like buying a stock that canât go up.
@@RandomStuff0303 it is pretty boring âŠ
@@SportCardMadness HOF autos for the W!
The problem here (which has been an issue with these Grading companies) is that they do not get held accountable for their own mess ups. They messed up by originally authenticating the art harris card. If it was authenticated then it should be left as that. For someone else to go authenticate it AGAIN, and say that the person who authenticated this the first time around fucked up...well, how is that the buyers fault? Now, the buyer paid for an authenticated card -$7500.00 and psa won't pay that for their own mess ups... smh.
If I just want the basic certification do I just add that to the shipping and add it to the total line?
Yes!
PSA is Crap use SGC they are much better!!

If you don't want to get into massive sets, collecting "player runs" is how I've maintained some focus. All of a certain player's career Topps Chrome Gold refractors, or Heritage autos. In the spirit of the pitchers who are batting cards (The '95 UD Collector's Choice Randy Johnson is a MUST there) I also focus on collecting cards of players with the Green Monster in full/large view, more exciting are the non Red Sox players: 2022 Mike Trout Heritage Variation, 2019 Stadium Club Aaron Judge, even the 2017 Topps William Shatner First Pitch card, etc.
Hope all the junkwax collectors don't take you up on your very kind offerđ!

Great stuff, lads! đ Mike Moynihan ('Baseball Collector') did a very good video on this recently. He was refering more to how he catalogues his collection, but he is LASER-focussed in his quest - almost to the point of obsession. He likes grading his cards and adding them to the PSA registry, so he uploads the image and prices he paid etc. to that. He has an excel spread-sheet with all the cards he needs from each set, and has the cards he requires highlighted (removing the highlighted cards when they are obtained). The above method might be a pain in the neck to upload all the data, but I think in the long run it's a great way to keep focussed in obtaining the cards you need, whilst keeping track of the cards you have. His sheet also tracks how much he's spent in acquiring the cards (although, not all of them), and I think the current market value (via the Registry). He also shares his 'wants' spread-sheet with his friends, so if they're at a card show that he isn't at, they can help him along the way. Again, excessive information for many (perhaps you could say it's 'sports card MADNESS!' đ), but definitely a way to stay focussed. đ
Sets take up too much space for me.
Do a small set like skybox prototype! 12 cards ...
if someone pays 30m for that shirt, they can fuck off.
Completely screwed, wtf did i get into.
Hope you get a good answer to your problem. This is reflected in a negative mark on their reputation. Thanks for the information.
