Ive been just geading out with my Zeiss Jena pancolar 50 1.8 and challenging myself to use my feet for the composition. It definitely forces you to really think about what you are trying to share and the story you are telling. I actually really love zooms..but i think it's important to mix it up and challenge yourself. Absolutely loved the video.

There is a Sigma 35/2 DG DN, it's lighter and looks so much better! Highly recommended if you are looking for a lighter 35mm.

Some really nice pictures, and I liked the music and overall ambience. Personally I’ve never enjoyed 50mm, and I’ve settled on 40mm as the “best fit for me” field of view. What field of view people vibe with is so personal. It’s hard to give any advice beyond “here is what I vibe with and why” and “try a bunch of primes, or a trans-standard zoom locked at specific focal lengths for a stretch of time, and see what feels right for you”. Funnily enough, I’ve had 50mm lenses forever, which I bought because everyone was saying that 50mm is the “normal” field of view, but I was using APS-C cameras and it feels like nobody was explaining the difference! That was in the late 2000s, and 100% of amateurs and a good chunk of the pros were using APS-C sensors (for budget reasons), but still all the photography sites and forums and magazines talked as if everyone was on full-frame lol. When I finally realized that a 50mm lens was not the famed “50mm” that all the photography content was talking about on my APS-C cameras, I tried a 35mm but could not make it work for me. It always felt too long or too wide, depending on the subject. 23mm (~35mm full-frame field of view equivalent) was better, but a bit too wide at times. And finally I tried a couple 27mm (~41mm full-frame field of view equivalent), and fell in love.

So what aspects of image quality do you mean when it comes to zoom vs primes? I'm sure it's not only about sharpness? A comparison video with examples of both would be really interesting.

Fujifilm's 18-55 is highly regarded as one of the best kit lenses even giving the XF 16-55 a close run in many scenarios, especially with its stabilisation which the 'pro' XF does not have :)

The Fuji system is really nice. If the X-T5 had AF as good as the Sony A7 IV, it would be a no-brainer.

ah yes, the classic comb from thailand as a mic stand😌there isn't much street photography in thailand as calming and beautifully shot as yours! i definitely love the scenes and photos coming out from the countryside more. everything look so peaceful 💚i often have trouble with my sony a6400 giving lots of shaky videos and grainy photos under low light condition. seeing you manage to still capture amazing shots with an apsc are always so inspiring!
