Mac10 - Blender 3D, Speed Modeling and Texturing
So it's been far too long, but here is another video. Quite happy with this one, but its not my best work.
This one took 3 hours of modeling, and an hour of texturing in total (roughly).
The music is "Winter Contingency" from the Halo Reach soundtrack.

A Deagle, made in blender. This one took over 5 hours in total, both modeling and texturing together. I included the texturing in this one, so let me know if it is something I should do in the future. The final model has 7814 faces. Speed modeling the Uzi .22 in Blender. Sorry about another large gap between videos. Had some troubles recording and have been a bit preoccupied. This video is a fair bit longer than my other videos, mostly because it actually took a while to make. This one was 4 hours of 3d modeling. Ended up having about 15,000 faces. Music is from the soundtrack to FTL. Footage is sped up 15 times real time.

My newest 3D model, the Star Wars Tie Fighter. I'm very happy with this one, and it turned out great, I think. It took probably 6-7 hours in total, spread across 3 days. 128,000 faces.

is modeling in blender easy? i mainly use sketchup and revit for modeling buildings but i want to learn other programs to model for objects since sketchup isnt great with modeling for props.

what would you say this tehnique of modeling is called? and where did you learn to model like this? I started with a plane like you but i don't know what you did to add volume at least i didn't see the way you did it. The way i do it is to just scale some thickness into it. Please let me some knowledge I'm green at modeling.
