I Never Imagined (what just happened...)
Never be another .....
I was dating a girl in 1970 that I was very much in love with and every time to this day I hear that song almost 55 years later it reminds me of her
50:38. I love Leather Jackets album. It´s my favourite EJ album.
She Was Beautiful In Every Way
I think she enjoyed playing drums and was sad to give it up to be up front.
That bowl haircut did nothing for her face. Nothing. That voice says it all though. RIP fat girl.
Well.. She was a great lip syncher as well as a great musician.
First record I ever bought!
The Magic Just Bursting Out of Those Tracks…. Yes I Agree It’s So Hard To Capture This Energy and After Placing Microphones Tape Machine On Then The Mixing Then Mastered On To a Lacquer Disc For Quality Control You Can Lose So Much in This Process Yet George Martin Was Right There At Every Step To Ensure What He Captured Made it as Close To The Original Recording at EMI Studios….
At 3'27" on "From a Lover to a Friend" on the Driving Rain album Paul Sings "let me love again'. A magic moment. I could point out dozens of magic moments like that on all his solo albums. Dozens.
Listen to 'PS I love You' on their first album at 1'27". Paul sings "You know I want you to" That caught my ear the first time I heard it in 1963, I was eleven. I knew then that Paul was something special. I was right. He's been with me all my life, I'm 72 now and I love that man.
cmon .... being researched for a month you had to have read that day tripper and rubber soul were recorded/released in the 2nd half of 1965. you could argue "what's the difference in one year? its no big deal.." but the beatles changed so much and packed so much (more than anyone could in half a decade) into a year, that saying 1966 over 1965 can be argued is a huge misinforming your audience. pretty good video tho.
I actually like spies like us and fuh you. and what’s wrong with the little pop? I think your opinion is nuts about that. There are a lot of other songs that Paul did that suck. Really suck. I’m surprised you picked those two. Kind of ruins your believability.
All that great music from just 8 or 9 years.Just brilliant!
In the 70s, Paul McCartney said she was the best female vocalist in the world.
One of a kind ❤
Re-watching to this video: My favourite Elton album is CAPTAIN FANTASTIC AND THE BROWN DIRT COWBOY and, like you, I cannot listen to the live at Wembley concert of the album except for "Meal Ticket" which I quite enjoy for its extended rocking attitude. This doesn't mean I didn't/don't like the "new" band that replaced Dee & Nigel. In fact, BLUE MOVES (with this "new" band - Caleb, Roger, James, and Kenny being added) is quite possibly my 2nd favourite Elton album. It is stunning how incredibly different CAPTAIN FANTASTIC AND THE BROWN DIRT COWBOY and ROCK OF THE WESTIES and BLUE MOVES are from one another - all released within an amazingly short 17 months. It was a whirlwind of musical variety from Elton in those days. Someone needs to write a seriously-researched book about EJ in 1975-76. Hint!
Thank you bud - a great watch
Woo it got as I kept watching
I hope that they redo the first two with the ai
I'm good with it except for omitting l don't want to lose you
I totally agree that section from I got a feeling, oh darling and why don't we do it in the road and helter skelter
Harrison also had very high pitch and the high pitch of twist and shout
John Lennon also had a gifted singer and songwriter
Who cares about what she looked like? That voice is all that matters.
Yeah, they both start shouting (John too) in 1968. --Back in The USSR, Lady Madonna, I'm So Tired, ObLaDi-ObLaDa, Me And My Monkey, etc. They never sang like that before.
♥️♥️♥️♥️🙏🏼✝️
What a singing voice, beautiful!

Re-watching this again: Elton's best music came partly from when his head was into great music being released around him. Elton is like a sponge - absorbing music all around at the time. Look at the great music being released in the late 60s & early 70s that Elton tapped into and with great success he often created music with a fusion of styles that became uniquely his own. Elton's best music also came from that team work that we mention: a tight band (combinations of Dee, Nigel, Davey, Roger, Caleb, and Ray plus James & Kenny) with Bernie as lyricist and Gus Dudgeon as producer and Paul Buckmaster, at times, as arranger. They also tended to record together and often in isolated studios - far away from distractions. These great 70s albums were also brave & adventurous, for the most part, and the band were all at the top of their game. "I've Seen That Movie Too" and "Tonight" are songs that I would so much rather listen to than something like "Cold Heart." Don't get me wrong, I love electronic music. Elton, with his obsession for remaining relevant and to have chart success, sadly, stated that the #1 success of "Cold Heart" meant more to him than can be imagined. ! Really? It should be about the art, about writing, playing, and recording something special. Regarding album production, I think that Elton has not found a producer since maybe Patrick Leonard (SONGS FOM THE WEST COAST 2001 - an album with essentially 2 band line-ups) that has brought out the best in Elton's music. I keep hoping that Elton would record an album with a hot band, an effective take control producer & arranger, in a remote studio, etc. and do it with an all chains-off and out-of-the-box attitude! I have no problem (I do have preferences, though) what genre(s) that EJ wants to tap into - just commit 100% to it and go for it.
Perfect pitch voice Karen had and you felt what she was singing,to bad her mother treated her in the way she did. What a talent Karen had don't hear Carpenters music much when I do makes me happy and sad ❤.
No other voice.
Sings and plays drums better than Don Henley.
K-A-R-E-N. !!!!! ❤❤❤❤ The Carpenter's
Very well said. May be magic. To me they re a gift from God to the world.
And play the drums at the same time
One could forgive him for making a mistake on a drug induced whim in 1975, but what’s crazy is that in 1985 he made the exact same mistake again. His career was non existent from 1977-1980 when he hired Nigel and Dee back. He had a good tour in 1982, then did two very successful albums (Too Low For Zero and Breaking Hearts), which a trove of hits he stills plays to this day. 1984 was maybe his best sounding live year yet. It wasn’t like the ‘70s, but clearly some of the creative magic was back. Then he fired them again and replaced them with the band that gave us Leather Jackets and Ice On Fire….
So sad.
Her and Barbara Streisand the only 2 of my generation that have pure voices.
I loved her voice
Song brings back good times
❤
Paul is really historical and he and the Beatles will be considered even more genius as more time passes. He creates so much different kinds of sounds and melodies so everyone can find his own personal favorite.
Makes me wonder what happened to people today and why they have no talent anymore
One of those songs I would *NEVER* listen to with my friends around. But just like 'David Gates & Bread', I was a _'closet listener'._ I always thought good music was good music, but my friends were classic 70's rocker fans (at least in front of me! LOL)
FINALLY, FINALLY, FINALLY!!! Someone has given proper credit and attention to McCartney's vocal performances. UNBELIEVABLE! But, you should take a closer look at I think McCartney's wildest performance. White Album. "Why Don't We Do It In The Road". Listen how he sings each (identical) line so differently. How he throws his voice around. I guess with so few lyrics you have to compensate with a vocal performance and he does it here! Listen to it. NO ONE had such a vocal style. Glad you mentioned too "Oh! Darling". Well done to you!!!
Thank you for watching! So glad you enjoyed it. The full length version of the video has “why don’t we do it”. There’s no way I could do a video about Paul’s vocals without including that song. Here’s the link to the full length version.: www.bitchute.com/video/OpkzAT6LZ3o5
Voice of an angel. RIP
What a talent ❤❤
Paul is the musician everyone wishes they were
Little know fact about Karen Carpenter, many of her peers regarded her as one of the best drummers of her time.
