I remember seeing this in theaters when I was 14. My grandpa and several other family members served in WWII, and this movie made me think of their service and sacrifice. At the end of the movie, the theater was dead silent, such a powerful movie!! 🇺🇸

The saddest part is... I can relate to Arthur almost EXACTLY in this scene... I know the feeling of wanting acceptance and not getting it... I often imagine myself in my "happy places" much like Arthur did in this scene... Pretending in my head that im wanted and loved... Imagining myself somewhere surrounded by great friends... Etc... But it isn't real and sadly I have to come back to reality eventually just like he did 😢

To forget the hatred and animosity and forge a brighter future for us all... and never forget the sacrifice. So how do you do this? You carry it. You honor it. You never forget it. And when the time comes, you pass it on. You pass it on to the future. Then, you've earned it.
