I've have the same issue with de-laminating doors albeit that my kitchen is just over 10 years old. I was told by Wrens that I have a guarantee for 20 years but this doesn't cover the front and side panels as they are classed as accessories. I should've read ALL the terms and conditions:(

I’ve been impatiently waiting for the pax to come to the US, I didn’t know there was a new design, I guess that explains why the old one was out of stock. I do hope they bring it soon because it’s a key item in my space

Previously, and when I was much younger, I purchased and installed PAX some of them by myself, and in order to be able to carry them up three stories of stairs (or even carry at all) I needed to take out and carry only one side at a time. There was no way I could carry the entire thing by myself. Even when assisted by a strong male we still opened the boxes downstairs and carried one piece at a time. Although I never had ikea delivered, I did have the impression they effectively only deliver to the kerb ie they won’t carry up the stairs for me either - so if as remotely as heavy as previously this rules out PAX as being at all viable for me in the future

DON'T buy the new pax! We bought six of them, 100cm wide, and every one of them, the backboard came loose and detached as we were installing them. We previously owned the older pax and were very happy. The new version is flimsy, if you have the 100cm width the shelves bend in the middle, and the ceiling board also easily pulls loose from the vertical sides once the closet is loaded up with clothes. The previous pax we owned stored the exact same items with no issues.

How do I fix the pax to a concrete wall? Do I need to run a wooden strip along the back?

I’ve not seen this 2.0 model but I don’t like the idea of it. I think Ike’s furniture is really wobbly and I can only imagine how light and wobbly this will be. I like the original pax. What is really like is for ikea to stop folding the back board. I can’t stand seeing the slit down the middle

Hey Kirsty....nice video. Quick question, what do the angle corner brackets on the headboard do? As the side rails only rest on the angle corner brackets on the footboard, and nothing is resting on the angle corner brackets on the headboard Much appreciated

I have been patiently waiting for the launch in the US, and I happy to hear that the 13in depth is coming back!

I am in France and I assembled a Pax 2.0 a few weeks ago. I did not like the bottom folding system. Of course you no longer have to nail the bottom and then tilt the wardrobe but unfolding the bottom alone and stiffening the whole thing is complicated. Overall I found the whole thing less solid but that may just be an impression.

Just had my ikea pax in beige delivered yesterday and yes it’s the 2.0. I opened my first frame and was confused. I came and found your video as I didn’t know they had started doing this. Thank you for the update which makes it easier for me to understand than just looking at the pictures in the instructions. I live in the uk 😊

This sucks I needed 1 more for my living room, now I can't buy one since they are sold out.

I'm a designer and salesperson at a kitchen company called Kutchenhaus, we hear lots of horror wren stories from customers who are shopping around. I've heard experiences of wren salespeople lying to the customer about things that should and shouldn't be done when it comes to kitchen design just to drive a sale. Word on the street industry end is that the company was simply set up to sell, so Wren is definitely a company to watch.

Thanks for taking time to make this video. I've recently heard awful things about the quality of Ikea furniture going far downhill since prices came down this year. I'd really love to hear from anyone who has bought the Pax and Komplement system in 2024. How is the quality. I expect not as good as years gone by but good enough?

I can totally recommend the original PAX, so it will be interesting to see how 2.0 compares to it

In the UK, IKEA are already selling the PAX 2.0 frame in Beige. Update after assembling PAX 2.0 1. Definitely a lot easier to assemble. Takes about 10-15 minutes a frame. 2. It will be easy to dismantle. 3. The 4 x support legs are a huge upgrade from the earlier model. Makes leveling a lot easier & quicker. 4. Lighter in weight but definitely still like good.

Can you still cut down the new PAX 2.0 units? Are the sides still solid throughout?

Is it much darker when the roof slats are closed? We are thinking of putting one on our patio but it’s in front of our lounge window and I’m worried it will shut out a lot of the light so your thoughts would be appreciated .

I would never ever ever buy BBW in UK come on! They do semi annual sale in the US where you get their products for eqv of £2.50 for one. I buy a load of them, send them to one of those shipping places and they send to me in UK. Their prices here makes no damn sense!
