it wasnt grooming (at least, for the most part), but the mention of minecraft and roblox still being used to trap kids today is extremely accurate from my experience, ESPECIALLY minecraft which tends to have no chat filter at all (and ways to get around it such as using books) for kids to be enangered tw for abusive and toxic relationships, fake suicide attempt, and erotic roleplay when i was little, maybe 11 or 12, i had just come out of a friendship with someone. i was a little brat when i was that age and as such it had not been a fun split. due to being so depressed it was extremely common for me to give out my email, as all i wanted was someone to *talk* to, to be friends with, since i could relate to no one around me and found irl relationships rather unfulfilling. eventually i met someone i'll call toff on a minecraft server, we shared emails and began to chat. she was about 15 i think? at least 3 years older than me. toff was extremely emotionally abusive to me, and refused to acknowledge anything was ever her fault. as i mentioned before, i was still a bit toxic, but absolutely not on her level. she was also incredibly unforgiving if i ever slipped up or did something wrong. in particular i remember her mentioning wanting to give me a present for christmas, me joking that i wouldnt give her my address, and her BLOWING UP AT ME and ghosting me for days because of that. i didnt leave sooner bc when she was nice, or even IF she was nice, she would be so, so kind. it was lovebombing, essentially. we even did erp, which while i dont think it had the DARKEST intentions, she was still several years older than me. being a junior in HS now, i can hardly even imagine TALKING to an 8th grader, let alone doing such weird things with them. after a while we finally just stopped talking to each other, but only a couple months later she pretended to be her sister, contacting me through a (semi) mutual friend, saying that toff had attempted suicide and that if it succeeded, she would sue me, even though we literally hadnt talked for months and her actual sister likely knew literally nothing about me, let alone a way to contact me. i wish i saw through it back then, but i didnt. the reason she did this is because i had told some people (in private) about what she'd done to me, and how horrible she was. yikes. either way, its been over a year and i havent been in contact with her since, but something extremely odd happened a while back. she often goes by rather obvious pseudonyms, and one of them was MY NAME. that shook me up for quite a while tl;dr, dont give out ANYTHING personal to people if youre at least under the age of like, 16 or 17, and even then you should probably go by a different name online and not go any further than that. please be safe, or else you might meet someone like her (or worse). i literally wouldnt wish someone like toff on my worst enemy. sorry for ranting, its just something im passionate about.

Li, you have no idea how excited I got when I saw this video title. Observing and studying AITA like it's a terrarium of interesting bugs is one of my favourite guilty pleasure pastimes. As an amateur connoissuir of AITA, I would also like to add: "My girlfriend is too horny" posts. I'd catagorise this as a sub-classification of "author's barely disguised fetish", although some could just be people who have observed the Reddit ecosystem of unpleasant nerds who have never been within 10 feet of a woman who wasn't 2D and are now tailoring their posts to fish for internet attention. Some could be real, but most have exaggerated ragebait vibes. Usually intended to elicit 50+ comments along the lines of, "I don't understand how this is a problem", "she's wasted on you", "how are you complaining?", "other guys would kill for this", "I'll take her off your hands if you want", etc etc. Usually works. Type 1M. "Fireworks vs Dog" or "Fireworks vs Person with PTSD" posts. Reddit is generally pro-fireworks in this situation, so the person complaining is usually voted the a-hole regardless of the perspective it's told from. Exists on a sliding scale of believability depending on how unreasonable the complainer is portrayed as. "Picky eater" ragebait. Reddit HATES picky eaters, and will unanimously vote one the a-hole, usually after going on a very condescending rant about how they're childish, selfish, entitled, spoiled babies who only eat chicken nuggies and cheetos. No, they will not make allowances for things like sensory issues or ARFID. TWINS! Just, as a general trope. Lots of twins. Twins are as common in AITA-land as evil MILs and cartoonishly unreasonable fat people.

On Reddit abuse stories: I’m going to list off just a couple things my INCREDIBLY abusive parents did while I was a child; Forcing my siblings and I to watch each other use the bathroom to prevent us from masturbating, beating us with a 2x4(they called it “spanking”), providing us with bologna everyday for lunch and dinner while they ate steaks and the like, I was once forced to sit on the living room floor for a year and stare at my stepmom anytime I had free time, stole any money that was ever given to me or my siblings, hazing(locked in a cage while my siblings are forced to yell and scream and sometimes throw things at the person in the cage), and the final thing; I was kicked out after being beaten for washing the outside of the house with the rag balled up in my hand at age 15. Idc if you don’t believe me, but I will never call bs on an abuse story, idc how crazy it seems. There are some truly fcuked people out there, and unless you’ve went through abuse as well, I don’t think you have the experience to say that things are fake.

I saw this wild Reddit post a bit ago where a husband was complaining about his wife hyoerfixating on random celebrities or fictional characters, to the point of serious dysfunction, who refused to admit she may have a problem - this all culminating in an episode where she fixated on Brett Hart (the best there is, was, or ever will be) and wanted to divorce her husband because he could never be him. And then, of course, a chase involving knives and some other craziness. It just kept spiraling into absurdity and was genuinely one of the most batshit things I’ve ever read. Every comment was taking it so seriously too.
