Chris harris has video showing this replacement. He indicates that the junction box only comes out or is suppose to come out on the RHS. He also swears at it and the designer quite a bit.

I bought a 1999 K1200 LTC back in 2000 that had just over 400 miles showing on the odometer (original owner couldn’t handle the weight). I put 50,000 miles on that bike in a little over five years. Other than changing the oil and tires, the bike was absolutely trouble free. Great bike! Wish I kept it.

I have found my Topdon to be very sporadic. It will show the battery needs replacing, the retest shows 100% good battery, test again and it will be good or bad again. I don't trust my Topdon

FYI: The bike sold in the first 2 hours! Thanks to everyone! I am sure I will have another one coming up soon! In the meantime, my old bike is for sale as well! The grey 2000 that is featured in many of the videos and is featured on my torque spec poster. That one has all of the updates too but has more miles. Still a great bike though! He is not asking much for it and is very easy to deal with. I also have another friend that is selling a blue 02 if you are interested in that one. I did work on it but not to the extent that the grey one is. Let me know and I will get you in touch with the owners.

Can you give any details on the stash box/case under your plate? Assuming you have an air pump/tools in there. Good luck selling the bike. She's a beauty. (K1600 rider)

someone help me please, my first motorcycle I have a k1200 lt 2001, I'm working on it, I bought it from a person who left it parked for 9 years, I did everything necessary and now it's working, but when it starts it emits smoke with shades of blue or white, I don't know, and for a while when it's running it slows down with smoke, but it doesn't stop coming out, signs of wear on the piston rings are common on heavily used bikes, but it only has 18,000 miles, it could have been damaged by stay still for a long time?

I wish I saw your videos before buying a used 2001 1200lt. Im no mechanic so now I am at a loss. Suspect main seal and clutch, and or the final drive. Ive had it one day and now Im waiting on the title to be sent so I can post it for sale.

Hey Kirk, good to see you're still making videos. You were an amazing resource back when I had my 2000 KLT. As soon as I saw your clutch replacement series I put it up for sale though. Switched over to an FJR1300. So much easier to work on. Sometimes I miss my big blue couch though.

Was the tank inside corroded?

Had 185k on my 03 when we got hit from behind by a truck, Loved it.

I recently purchased a 2005 and would like to take it on a trip but not sure how to tie it down. It will be in a chock. Appreciate any help I can get. Thanks
