This reading really warms my heart thinking that AA Milne made both Clive Barker and Doug Bradley fans of his work. Its something that I have always said when it comes to children's literature should serve as a vehicle of a appreciation for two generations, it should serve as a means to teach important life lessons and to entertain a child but also be a means to which themes, ideas, or story can be recontextualised or given greater emphasis to an adult later on in life. Just the fact that Clive Barker and Doug Bradley are fans and talk about AA Milne's work goes to show that these stories have a greater power then what others might think on a surface level

I stumbled upon this by chance, and I wanted to say I have been a big fan since the first Hellraiser film, almost 40 years ago. Your voice for Pinhead blew me away when I first heard it in the movie theater. Made me wish I could imitate pinhead's voice but I never was able to. I enjoyed hearing you read this story, though I must admit I wish it could have been read with Pinhead's deep, commanding voice. Glad I got to compliment you before either of us passed away. Hi pinhead

Loved this! I listen to Lovecraft audiobooks quite a bit, and your rendition of this story was a stand out. It's the voices - like you can hear the difference between Carter and Warren and Whoever That Was In the End. Warren's despair and Carter's panic really comes through. I also love how you lean into the big reveal in the end (one of Lovecraft's habits is telegraphing his big twist endings and then drawing out the reveal by a whole bunch of 'oh shit it was so horrible' sentences so that sometimes I can't help find it funnier rather than scary). In this version, I liked how you rolled with the timing so that when it hits the ending, it brings home the whole horror of the experience. Hoping for more spooky short stories!
