The White Walkers were the best part of the show. Sure, the politics and the warring Kingdoms are great too, but who didnt like an ancient enemy returning after thousands of years, that everyone believes is just a myth, descending on the unprepared Southern Kingdoms, with an unknown motive. That's what kept me watching. Believing that the last season was going to be all about the Long Night and that, as they told us throughout the entire show, they were the true enemy and the only enemy that mattered. And all my questions would be answered. What a fucking let-down.

Magnificent scene. Only tiny gripe I got with it is that we see Tyrion give the signal with the torch, from the same spot on the battlements where he and Joffrey were observing the approaching ships. Cut to Bronn seeing the signal, and lighting his fire arrow. From his perspective, the ships should be between him and Tyrion. But then he shoots the arrow AWAY from the castle

Imagine seeing not only your comander, but your king, correcting you, stating that thousands will die, AND HE FUCKING LEADS THE CHARGE!

I wish this had been more true to the books. Cause davos wasn’t hand yet, it was a Florent who got the job by being related to stannis. Davos kept suggesting scouts to see what’s going on. Also Tyrion forged a gigantic chain that closed the bay and trapped pretty much stannis’ whole fleet

It's not plot armor on Sam. I guess the whitewalker general recognized Sam as an uncle/stepdad, since these generals were originally babies of the old dude inbreeding with his daughters in the jungle, and Sam's girlfriend was one of those daughters. So this was baby from Sam's girlfriend or one of Sam's girlfriends' sisters'.
