Other than the annoying background music, which really is not needed, I enjoyed watching. It looks like you were fishing down off the road to the dam on the Soldier Creek side. I am surprised at the water clarity; I thought it would still be pea soup. The wife and I will have to make a trip up there.

You’re always catching pigs. Where do you get your chub meat?
Wherever I can-they are a bit tough to come by. If I can’t buy them I get them with a worm and bobber and a small hook!

What size jig do you use with the swim bait?
@@Thorny-Fishin the tubes are 4 inch. The swimbait was 3.8 inch. These are the standard ones I use, but sometimes go bigger or smaller. 💯

@@marcopedraza89 hey Marco!! So this day we were sinking to the bottom and then reeling in slowly. Later in the day they were swimming near the surface, so that let me know to fish the top of the water. It does depend on the day and also changes during the day. If you can see fish, fish the top of the water. If not try the bottom. If that doesn’t work they are somewhere in the middle!!💪🏼

Dude I got hosed Friday morning
Dang dude that is rough! I went back up today and the bite was a little tougher than it was last week, but we still did well. The fish are suspended-at least that’s what we saw today. Very little activity off the bottom today.
@@troutcatchingjedi81 makes sense I busted my bait caster last week at yuba and only had my powerbait pole and it was dead but yeah if they are suspended wouldn’t have got em without my other pole and my jigs…. Crazy times nothing usually outperforms my powerbait pole at the berry unless I’m on a boat

Where can I get Chub? I have looked several places but can never seem to find any frozen to use for bait.
@@zacharypeay6052 hey Zach I know it’s hard to come by. The state is really trying to knock down the chub population because they actually take up all the nutrients in bodies of water-they reproduce like crazy. A second choice believe it or not is carp meat-which is easy to find. I will include that in my next video

Your videos are always great. Your tips are helpful. Last Monday I was fishing offshore and I figured out the Trout were feeding on Crawdads. My tackle did not attract any Trout. Thank you Dean!! I know the bigger trout will feed on crawfish. I’ve never had much success fishing with whole crawdads but I have had success with peeling the meat out of the tail and tipping my lures with. It is just hard to keep it on there-pretty delicate meat. I’ll try to include that in one of my future videos!!

Appreciate the criticism Mark. This was filmed by me. The GoPro was chest mounted hence the awesome view of the fish being netted. The cropping is due to reel/shorts format of 9:16 and my GoPro recording the exact opposite.

Thanks Casey. This was filmed on my GoPro and making the video into reel/short format requires cropping. The GoPro was mounted on my chest-hence the awesome view as I was netting the fish.
@@troutcatchingjedi81 haha gotcha! Y’all should have a boat mounted rig!! Or maybe some sort of mount you can attach the camera too if you get a fish and quick swap between the two… that is if you care about camera work :)
This is definitely not my first criticism of camera work. Normally I just have the chest mount and I’m fishing from shore. I am trying to do better with my cinematography but I get too wrapped up in the fishing!😂

I put catching a monster fish with friends or loved ones as one of the most enjoyable ways to make memtories. My dad caught a toad at the berry last summer and it was his PB to date. Love the content as always man keep up the great work!

Broke a Ugly stick never seen that before
I have fished with ugly stik for about 20 years and never broken one until this year. I broke one this spring at starvation and then this one. Not sure if the quality is going down or if I had damaged it a few weeks previously. I’m still gonna fish with em though!!💯

I have a question for Strawberry. How do you fish there for some Rainbows without a boat and without using bowerbait? Also, where to find the tube jig that he was using in the vedio
@@ruilongzhang9411 rainbows usually are a little less aggressive than cutthroat. I’ve found the best way to target them is with powerbait. Curly tails and tubes also work, but you will get a lot of cutthroat. The tube in the video is made by a local guy. Just google send it outdoors. It is the bite size black and gold tube.
