👍
I use to run around with a piece of fruit on my thumb. I use to make tiny baskets out of clay, obviously was a child at this time. 😂 I use to colour and draw, none of which was extraordinary. I always felt that I should have made more. I did not pay enough attention. I knew I wanted to be an Artist. But what sort of Artist I had no idea. It is only now that I feel ready to give it a go. Not sure if God is going to allow this journey. But I Pray He Grants me Grace. ❤ God bless you
Una chulada de PIEZAS, CONGRATULATIONS
Awesome - your video really tackles the problems of separating the fine silica from the water - does the glaze adhere to the pot after the first fire before vitrification?
That is just a clay body, I really don’t use glaze
very nice ,
love the ideas for mass production thank you!
Big respect for making good clay
Dumb question, but can you mix a slip from mineral oil and clay?
I’ve never tried it, I don’t think so the oil would prevent it from sticking maybe.
WOW BRO
Mr. Tony Soares! I would love to buy one of your pottery pieces. I do understand, that you have many-many people standing in line to oven you magnificent pieces. It doesn’t matter, I will be patient . If it possible, please reapply to this comment. Best regards! Yelena
Yes you can find me on instagram @tonysoarespottery and talk more there of facebook
Wow! I wish i have the skills you have to shape the clay into different shape. I love your show. I am watching from Papua New Guinea.
Very nice 👌
Brother, I would love to chill with you and make some pottery, you seem like a hell of a guy I’d enjoy getting to know/picking your brain.
Check me on instagram @tonysoarespottery
@@tonysoaresnativeclays1434 just followed you - @studioblurred and I just uploaded pics and a video of my first coil pot
great . thank you
Might want to try a corded drill. All that torque can wear down your cordless.
I do use one sometimes but the usually shut off because of the load is so high
Why not start with dry clay in the mixer and add water, thereby saving a step?
It turns into a sticky mess, the clay starts out a rocky chunks. It is melted down and has to be cleaned, that is why it is in the mixer to break it down
Amazing video! How long did the coffee kiln fire for? Thanks in advance!
Until it burns out, maybe 8 hours
@@tonysoaresnativeclays1434thank you for your response
Thank you for your help with your video, I am going to try this type of pottery, I loved the design since the I found my first piece, when walking in the woods as a kid. I'm working on an easy way to fire a couple of pieces in a BBQ or pit fire 🔥 outside. Will it work? I can't have a big fire outside where I am, too many warped Belagona around! 😅😂😂😂😂😊🙏✌️ Thank you my brother. Blessings to you and your family always.
Yes watch a few of my other firing videos using charcoal
@@tonysoaresnativeclays1434 Thank you for your response and I will be watching your other videos as well. Keep up the great work! 🔥
I have been waiting years to try firing pottery in a safe and not too costly way, and in a way that I don't upset the neighbours, always been way too intimidated by the firing, but after seeing this I am confident I can do this thanks so much for sharing I can't believe this actually worked!
Great looking Pot
Beautiful Colours. Awesome work ❤❤
They re so good ❤
Super cool work
Well done!
I went and got old family now has a family miss it. Enjoy yours while they are there. They sound great .
That was very interesting. Read about throwing spears that way first time seeing it. Thank you. I would think that was a good way to get turkeys ducks and birds.
How do you hollow the center.
Love it my friend makes very nice pottery for plants. Alway upset with his kiln . I might just have to go over and make a pot just to use this coffee can or even a small garbage can . Lol I've never made a pot but after seeing your site pretty sure I can do this. Thanks so much
Ah man wish you wouldn't have clarified that my cat wakes every morning about 3.00 thought I might of gotten even shaving his tail a bit. Beautiful work. I carve wood but everytime your video comes up I want to try clay. Thank you for sharing your time.
Thanks for sharing
They are beautiful
Why did you do 500 degrees?
You can do 350 to 400 F , it gets the moisture out of the pots so you don’t have to preheat with wood making your outdoor firing much longs which in some areas exposes nature to the chance of wild fires. I like to get my firing done asap
Girls more lovely ten pottery😊
Ah a nice semi mass production version of wet grading clay I like it thanks for sharing, the last part of my clay is getting rained on at the moment so I am hoping the window I put over it is keeping the wet out or its going to be a couple of months before its dry 😁 I don't think the plaster of paris would work here (I'm in the UK so its wet almost all year) but I'm using the same basic process to clean up my clay but then I have to bring it in to dry off near the fire Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely the best , learned so much , i have tried once using Texas jumbo , it was a major fail , I feel much more confident this time , just watched a mata ortiz pottery video , just south of you , they finish with oil The best thanks again
Wonderful video Tony. At 8:30 you mention a book on corrugated pottery. What is the name and author of the book, if you would be so inclined to share? Thanks!
Gray corrugated pottery from Avi and other Jeddito sites in northern Arizona, by James C, Clifford, and Watson Smith
Awatovi
Not Avi
Thanks Tony, you do beautiful work! @@tonysoaresnativeclays1434
Siempre una CHULADA , Sugerencias tienes que hacer en ESPAÑOL....más ganancias para ti
I think they must have made this sort of pottery for aesthetic reasons. I guess they weren’t in a hurry and thought beauty was more valuable than speed.
Awesome, JazakAllah!
Awesome, thanks!
Ok How do you keep it from turning all black ? Everytime time I try this it all comes out all black
It is the clay and the fuel . Hi oxidizing fuel . Some woods are just dirty
Very nice . 😊
Those bricks that you started out with look like the same types of fire bricks that you would find in a old cast iron stove oven.
The came with my mothers house next property over 50 years ago, they lined the garden, must have been 30 or more. Very odd shaped
@@tonysoaresnativeclays1434 Yeah, my parents had a huge old cast iron stove and oven in their home, and the home was built back after the Civil War here in Pensylvainia. When I got older, we took the stove apart to sell it, and the fire bricks inside the oven looked the same as those bricks. They had those same single raised ridges on one side, so they would fit inside the virtical grooves in the stove bottom, so the bricks were tight against each other without gaps and would not move around.
Leave the mixer on when you pour
Sometimes I do sometimes I don’t, depending on how much temper I want in the mix
I’m feeling Duck paws and berries.
Sold build! Thank you for the inspiration! In my first ceramics course and making a Ladle.
That’s a lovely shape. Your talent and skills make this look so effortless.thank you for the demonstration and inspiration!
Those turned out great and thanks for sharing. I am going to try that.
❤😂🎉
Beautiful!
