One thing I noticed while growing up was most people always wanted to run cold water down the drain when they were doing something. Hot water helps to melt grease! Think about it. When my mom would burn something in a pot the first thing she would do was put cold water in it to soak. I don't recall how many times I tried explaining it was better to put hot water in the pot, pan. I'll wash vegetables in cold water and then run hot water afterwards. I grew up in the 1960's and learned how to listen to the plumbing so you could be proactive especially if you have an old house.

Tip: never chuck those fiberglass poles on the ground. Treat them as fragile. That said, if you ever camp in really rough weather, cyclonic, those kind of poles will split for sure. Been there!

Both of my sinks were backed up so the blockage was farther down the line. Filled both sinks halfway w/ water........filled plunger too (for the hydraulic push effect). Plunged w/ zero results (clog didn't budge) other than now I hear water leaking behind the drywall when I have the sinks over half full (can't figure that out)...........water draining under my cabinets and even to the outside of my house. Not sure what happened (separated ABS pipe joint....?????????) but it looks like I'll have to cut out the drywall to fully investigate. Cleared the plug w/ Drano and then flushed w/ two LARGE pots of boiling water.

I appreciate flawed videos such as this as they generate many flood/mold opportunities for us. Toilet Plungers are for Toilets, they will cause your piping to leak and even blow the nutxnut ones off, it is just a matter of time.

Omg! You are a lifesaver! I tried everything from Drano to baking soda and vinegar, taken p trap apart, shoved snake all the way into wall, and nothing happened, poured boiling water and dish detergent and still clogged, After watching this video problem solved, The only reason a plunger didn't work is because water would simply go to the other side! A plumber knows how simple the solution is but they just do it the hard way because they are in business to make 💰
