    The sound effects are so annoying. I would have rather heard a talking explanation or voice-over. Also what was used? Changes in diet, treatment with omeprazole or the secret chinese herbals? Or all of the above?

    So how did he do that from the ground? He pressed somewhere near the horses pelvis (I think). So, next question: how would you do that from the saddle?

      @pamelapeterson2987 Před 2 lety

      Collection comes about organically from proper gymnastic exercises like Haunches In and Shoulder In, turns on the haunches, etc.

    As a long time classical dressage horseman, I can say with absolute certainty that Jeff is 100% right. Collection works precisely as he describes it.

      It would be nice if the anti bit people could understand that a fitting bit in the right hands enhances communication to help the horse understand. It makes it a lot easier for the horse.

      @@user-hv3fo5fh4o It would be nice if bit people understood that nothing in the horse's mouth can result in the highest degree of communication and finesse.

      Thres certainly something to be said for that. I ride with bitless as well, love it too. Just saying for me the bits have a purpose that helps my horses. If your horses are doing well without them then more power to you.

    I'm an equine massage therapist and a lot of my clients will ask me what I think of how their horse's saddle fit. I really love how informative and knowledgeable you are on Western saddle fit but do you have any videos on English saddle fit?

  • @danielthomas3333
    @danielthomas3333 Před 5 lety

    You don’t lift the pelvis, you raise the thorax and lower the pelvis. In classical dressage it’s called relative elevation. Bending the joints of the hind quarters is what collection is all about. Refer to Gymnazium of the Horse by Gustav Steinbrecht. The definitive work on this topic

    • @pamelapeterson2987
      @pamelapeterson2987 Před 2 lety

      This was actually what Jeff was saying...the pelvis tips down and forward, the hind legs come up closer under the center of gravity, the thorax and withers lift.

  • @danielthomas3333
    @danielthomas3333 Před 5 lety

    Tru collection comes from the bending or folding of the joints of the hind quarters

    • @bung369
      @bung369 Před 5 lety

      Ok so when we move forward how is this happening? I'm confused ☺🤔

    • @pamelapeterson2987
      @pamelapeterson2987 Před 2 lety

      That is part of it...but you have to build strength and suppleness for that "folding" to occur. The pelvis, btw, also plays a role in this process, as Jeff was explaining, you need the pelvis to be able to tilt under.
