The episode was so spontaneous and energetic. It's as wasteful as omitting the entire Hibbert family from the Simpsons just because of the allegations of Bill Cosby.

As a Brit myself, I remember watching a few of these shows as a little kid. So thanks for shading light on a part of the Welsh animation scene. However, I wouldn't call 'Bobinogs' a good show by any means. I always considered it one of my least favourite cartoons of the 2000s. It certainly had a promising premise, but what got my goat about it was the execution. My problem is that it doesn't know how to balance its lessons with the story telling. That and the songs make Nickelback sound like Queen. I could forgive its shortcomings if it wasn't so incompetent. I know Bobinogs was intended for a much younger audience in mind, but that doesn't give the makers the excuse not to try. I may have not been in the target audience when it came out; but judging on its qualities, it has the soul and passion of a bad celebrity cartoon. Is it any wonder it faded into obscurity?

Don't forget how Lofty acted around Flex during their first meeting in the episode Lofty's Banana Tree. There was definitely some fruity energy with how Lofty reacted to Flex. Dude was trying so hard to impress his crush since he said he was an expert on agriculture and because they both have long crane arms. And I headcanon Mr. Banana Tree is their child.

Speaking as someone who's only heard of this show via folks like you talking about shows from your home country, as I'm from the US: I initially thought you were going to talk about an episode that discussed playing with knives. Then I went to the Lost Media Wiki and saw that it was a part of a series of shorts called "Be Safe with the Tweenies", so it's a spin-off that isn't part of the main show. But I think that ban was so asinine, cuz whole point of it was to show kids that knives are NOT toys and you should NOT play with them, but the BBC execs did what they did and only aired it once. I never knew about -this- controversy, though. I think this particular episode being pulled from circulation is plenty more justified just... knowing who that horrific bastard is. Of course I haven't seen it, but that's my conclusion. Not interested in Tweenies at all, but I am interested in banned episodes of kid's shows. Think you handled this one well, and I look forward to seeing where you'll go with your videos, take your time, no rush. 💖

Love how this show is just Cromarty and Ross playing "Pass the braincell" and Bill is the one that hogs it most of the time. I specifically like the one episode where Portland Bill tells Ross and Cromarty that he's friends with mermaids, Ross and Cromarty laugh at Bill for believing such nonsense and brush it off. So when Bill decides to go fishing, Cromarty and Ross begin to play a prank, pretending to be mermaids, to try to scare Bill and make him look silly. However, it wasn't until the final act where Ross actually meets a mermaid that hands him back something he dropped which spooks him thus foiling his and Cromarty's plan. Considering that Bill is apparently based off a legend of a sailor that appears in the fog to warn those of bad weather (essentially a cryptid) it wouldn't be too farfetched to believe that he's friends with the mermaids or to believe that he is said cryptid. Thinking about how Ross and Cromarty are unknowingly friends with a cryptid makes this even funnier. That would explain how he knows all these stories and is friends with literal mermaids.

Seeing these clips definitely make me more appreciate how simple, yet affective the humour was in the original and how the animation and dialogue mostly showed not told gags.
