i feel like we all forget that knuckles in game is strong enough to quite literally knock out super sonic WITHOUT THE EMERALDS. he's so strong he bodies super sonic. So him defeating this sonic would most likely be an absolute joke if he obtains the emeralds as he is comically powerful compared to other characters and is only ever tricked and never beaten in a one on one engagement. I feel like more horror sonics need to be seen getting their shit stomped by knuckles and being unable to harm him, and having to isolate and trap knuckles and then ignore him. It'd be a much better narrative of seeing that knuckles is strong enough to make sonic back off. And its more of sonic even with godly powers, playing AROUND knuckles and having to find ways to trick knuckles into abandoning his comrades and being frustrated when he doesnt. I would love to see a knuckles actually cause sonic to be afraid and play defensively instead of being an unstoppable force, because knuckles speed rivals sonic (similar to shadow) but is strong enough to outright demolish basically anything in his way. And seeing a character thats essentially a roadblock and has to be played around instead of being just another stepping stone would be fucking AWESOME.

We need more from the Sonic tapes,prehaps shadow and silver could team up once again?
