How to Use ChatGPT to Summarize & Analyze Academic Journal Articles with APA Citations
Academic research often requires extensive reading and summarization of scholarly articles. However, this process can be time-consuming and daunting, especially for students and researchers with busy schedules.
To alleviate this challenge, Chat GPT can be employed to generate concise or detailed summaries of academic articles.
To utilize Chat GPT for summarizing academic articles, one simply inputs the article into the interface and selects the desired length of the summary.
Chat GPT then employs natural language processing to extract and distill the key ideas and concepts presented in the article. The resulting summary can be edited for clarity and precision.
Moreover, Chat GPT also provides APA citations for the extracted key ideas and concepts, ensuring proper attribution and citation of sources. This feature is particularly valuable for researchers who must adhere to rigorous academic integrity standards.
Please know that Chat GPT can make errors so it's always important to verify summaries and citations.

Hi. Last month, I got a distal radius fracture and had a plate installed. I was looking for a video with all the details, and after a lot of searching, I found your video. I highly appreciate how you described everything. My hand is swollen; can you tell me if rubbing ice on it will be okay?

I can concur with you. I had a complex distal radius fracture in January 2024. It's now June 2024. Due to communication problems I was kept in a cast for 9 weeks. As you can imagine my hand was almost paralysed. Interesting that the exercises you were given are very similar to the ones that my physiotherapist gave me in Great Britain. Nearly 6 months later, I'm still working on physiotherapy and expect to continue for some months to come. I feel your pain!

I can’t believe other people had panic feeling with a wrist cast. I called my daughter and told her my casted wrist was having a panic attack. I felt it had to come off. I had to do deep breathing exercised to get through it. I’m much better with a wrist brace.

Micheal when did you start using a silicone scar sheet on your surgical wound? Is it normal to feel some stinging around the wound. It has been over 2 weeks post op. The scar is dry and clean with no signs of infection but it's just this sensitivity that I feel there every now and then.

    • @MichaelDelgado
      @MichaelDelgado Před 20 dny

I had a lot of sensitivity at the beginning and it would hurt sometimes (especially if my dog was licking my wrist). The sensitivity eventually went away -- but it lasted about a year or so.

Hello Michael I have just watched 3 of your videos and I can resonate with you a lot. Like you I am an active person going to the gym regularly and always keeping physically active even my job is an active one as an orthopedic nurse (yep will be empathising with my patients even more now). I also broke my wrist while roller blading which resulted with diastal radius fracture. Tomorrow is 2 weeks post op and had wool and crepe removed 10 days post op. I have the same issue with my thumb just like you but my other fingers are movig more since the beginning. I went for my first walk 5 days post op, ended up getting a sore throat and a temperature. I am fine now though. I have stocked up with various supplements that promote better bone healing and I am going to get this recovery my best shot. Awaiting my 1st physio appointment but already practicing gentle fingers and wrist exercises. Wrist is still very stiff so not pushing it. The only thing that worries me a bit more at this time that I can not rotate my forearm towards my face so my palm isn't able to face it. Thank you for your videos. They have given me more hope.

My 1 month xray showed great healing. I'm using red light therapy 3x a day. Rubbing comfrey salve and talking homeopathic cell salts-... Pherum phos, calc fluor, calc phos, silicea. Also upped my protein way up including liver. Soaking in Epsom salt too. Had removable cast entire time. No numbness or tingling just super stiff and working through it! Wishing everyone a speedy recovery

I broke my distal radius bone 3 weeks ago. Thankfully I didn’t need surgery, but I’ve got a cast. I’m really bumming because whenever I try to walk/easy exercise, my body retains water and my arm has been swelling up in the cast causing some really uncomfortable nights. Dr says not to exert myself. 😢 the depression is real. I also just started mountain biking about 8 months ago, and am so sad that I can’t ride now that the weather is getting better. Thanks for your video.

I'm 2 weeks, 4 days post surgery on my right wrist. Plate and screws. Broken radius and ulna. Unfortunately, at the same time, I broke my left wrist too, radius! So I have a cast on my left wrist and post surgery splint on right wrist. To say I am depressed is an understatement! 12 days after surgery (last week) the slab and bandage came off and I was told to do 6 wrist exercises at least five times a day, which I am doing religiously. I hope my left wrist has less pain and more movement than this right wrist when the cast comes off in 2 weeks and 1 day. I am feeling very incapacitated 😢

It has now been 10 weeks since my wrist fracture. I broke both my distal radius, and the head of the ulna bone. I was casted for six weeks, and now I’ve been out of my cast for 4. I have a lot of swelling and pain over the ulna bone. I thought up and experiencing a lot of numbness, tingling and burning pain into my hand and especially my fingers I was told by the orthopedist that the median nerve is irritated from the swelling, and it should resolve over time the burning sensation is excruciating, they tell me to take Advil or Tylenol and to use heat and ice to my hand. I go to OT twice a week still have a lot of stiffness especially when I wake up in the morning before I do my exercises I know I’m still early in the healing process and I was told it’s gonna take a good year. It is so very frustrating to live this way.

I continue to watch your video to give myself encouragement that I could do this and know that my wrist will heal at some point. I try to stay positive but every morning I wake up with pain in my wrist and my hand and fingers are stiff stiff. It takes my exercises to get my hand going. They tell me it’s gonna take six months to a year to get full function back. I go to OT twice a week and do my home program several times a day. They say that I’m progressing, but it’s very slow. I am now nine weeks out from my fracture. I know I’m still in the early stages of healing.

I’ve been having anxiety attacks just walking sometimes cause i hurt myself walking and falling. Today, as that came over me, I repeated over and over and over aloud (and through the fear tears) “I have an excellent sense of balance”. Also I’ve tried to get a therapist to talk to during the weeks of immobility. It didn’t work to find one. But I’m acute aware of the apathy, depression/anger and isolation and how it’s affecting me. I can’t drive my stick shift, I don’t have friends coming to visit or inviting me out, etc.

What did you all do for pain relief? I’ve been given several opioids and tylenol, I’ve also tried asprin, motrin, aleve, lidocane patches, ice packs, heat packs, and nothin g works. Its killing my energy level; all i can do is sleep sleep sleep. Doctor just told me its normal. I’m 5 wks out from when i had surgery now. But one week after i had had my fracture reduction done externally, without pain meds whatsoever, I wasn’t in pain like this.

I'm so sorry to hear about your pain. The first two months are rough. You should keep updating your doctor on your pain level. You may need to see a doctor who specializes in pain management to get more specific meds. I used meds for the first month to help me sleep at night. I also spent my days being as active as possible to get my mind focused on other things. I went on a lot of long walks and used a stationary bike. I sort of got used to the pain and it eventually resolved. But please keep your doctor informed on your pain. Take care of yourself.

I'm 76 year old disabled female who after a fall indoors broke the radius & ulna in my right dominant forearm 9 weeks ago. I had manual reduction, with a not very effective nerve block, that hurt like hell! 5 weeks in a cast; no check Xray before cast removed and a wrist support splint applied. I was discharged home with a physiotherapy leaflet showing a plan of wrist exercises. I was allocated carers 4 times a day because of my injury and my other disabilities. Ive had pain all the time but now no pain in radius side of my arm but continued pain on the ulna side along with some sensory nerve damage I suspect. The problem I'm experiencing now is doing the strengthening exercises; I can't yet carry a mug of tea! Trying to do the exercises causes more intense pain; even when Ive taken pain killers & allowed them to kick in before starting the exercises! Rang the hospital physio department; left a message twice today and no one has got back to help offer me advice! Feeling very frustrated until I watched your video and realising the battle to get my independence back it going to be much longer that I thought!

I broke my wrist in September 2013 at work. I have plates & screws in. I worked in homecare. It was a distal radius fracture. I had a cast on for only 2 weeks. Straight away after my cast was off & the butterfly stitches taken off, I started physio . My wrist was very very painful & very very stiff & swollen for a long time. At the time I wondered if I would ever be able to move my wrist & fingers properly agin. And if I'd get back to work. I also had a frozen shoulder within 2 weeks of my accident, which made it worse. I was referred to the pain clinic . I had 10 months off work. Now just over 10 years after the accident. I still have some stiffness & weakness in my wrist & arm. But I'm doing OK. The exercises that I was told to do helped alot, but it was a slow process. Take care everyone....ll
