2JZ-GE to NA-T Photo Diary Build, and Started!
zhlédnutí 69KPřed 4 lety
A photo log of a 2jz na to turbo build, the car did nut run on boost yet because there was more electrical things to address. So this video looks at how I got it rebuilt, put into a BMW E46 and started.
2JZ-GTE VVTI Unwrapping

Sorry for the poor video effort. Hadn't planed to upload this but I changed my mind because someone might just want to see this.
Winter escape. 2JZ-GTE in BMW E21 pt1
zhlédnutí 416Před 4 lety
At winter makes an early entrance in the UK, I've made a run for the border back to my home country Jamaica. I will attempt to document as I go along from this point on this abandoned project. Next steps will be to chop front, mount E90 front subframe, mount engine. My 1979 BMW E21 will roar with a heart of 2JZ. Be sure to look put in the comments what parts of this that is interesting to you o...
BMW E46 2JZ-GTE VVTI update...quit the NA-T for now.
zhlédnutí 423Před 5 lety
I've decided to prematurely stop the NA-T and go for the GTE. I've gotten the previous engine drivable...did about a total of 20 in that one. (Was on the stock ecu so no boost). I'll keep you posted with this as I go along. Post any questions you may have or comment on what videos you might want to see more of and I'll try to respond to them.
2jz bmw e46 custom gauge holder
zhlédnutí 240Před 5 lety
A cheap inexpensive way to make a pod holder for yourself with some diy skills.
2jz distributor cap modification
zhlédnutí 2,2KPřed 5 lety
This is an alternative to the 4runner cap option. I tried it and it worked well. Cheap, inexpensive, and functional. Perhaps this is more ideal for someone as an alternative.
2JZ-GE NA-T in BMW E46, wiring manual for starting Engine.
zhlédnutí 5KPřed 5 lety
Ok in this video I posted it's to give an idea of how to get the 2jzge engine started. This is not the GTE but GE. So this is a natural aspirated one to get it started and hopefully it's handy with some wiring instructions.
How do i disconnect the bottom part of the stock intake manifold?
Did you ever have any issues with oxygen sensor signal wires?
What ecu do you use ? Thanks !
Fucking beautiful!
hello ge rods, what's up, do you have a problem?
great video Greetings from turkey..
The rods will hold up well
Gangster
any updates???
Hopefully by summer. I plan on being out there again by then
what turbo is that one bro
It's a GT45
How do you adapt oil squirter to ge block???
I didn't make any accommodation for oil squirter
$?
This costs about £4000
damn, had no idea you could run a distributor-jz engine with a turbo, gives me hope for a 1.5jz na-t build...i've got my eye on an 8th generation toyota crown wagon that has a 1jz in it, and want to turn it into a sleeper lol
What TPS did you used with the manifold?
is it for sale
Sorry it's not, maybe if I change my mind in the future
Hi what size and what turbo is that ? Very nice build
It's an Ebay gt45
@@Jscottie2600 im doing similar conversion on my lexus gs300 2jzge non vvti
Yo, presuming this thing is still running. DO NOT USE THE VVTI RODS IN A TURBO SETUP. you can use the GE pistons, just not the rods. They're thinner and they'll bend. Go check it out.
Nice men
Nice one very good job what throttle body and sensors did you use? 👍
I have the exact throttle body and gte intake manifold for my set up and you just gave me closure and some ideas🤙🏼🤙🏼 great video
Happy it was helpful
@@Jscottie2600 did you have someone weld the manifold to your lowers or did you do it yourself? Is so what did you use tig or mig? And also what are you tuned on nowadays?
I love it how everyone bitches about the A90 Supra, but it's okay to do builds like this😂. With that being said, nice build bro!
Hi thank you for your time and knowledge I'm currently doing same build up but still using the stock ge non vvti block my power goal is 350 kw @1 bar boost please make more videos of car on the dyno
Hello. I found your project in search of information. I wanted to ask how the exhaust manifold works under the turbo. Has it not cracked. What boost do you use and what did you do with it ... You didn't think about firing the ignition device.? Greetings from Poland
Thanks for the comment, the project hadn't reached the tuning stage. I took this one out the care and went GTE becase I wanted to try that and see. I definately prefered this one though in terms of looks and build.
Nice vid.
Awesome project
Nice build mate, looks great! Guessing you got the engine mounts for the 2jz custom made? Where did you get them from? Putting a 2jz into a bmw e93 soon
Hi, yes it was custom made. Got them from a company in Poland...forgot their name
Thank you for making this!
Whats the intake manifold you’re using? And where did you relocate the abs?
That intake is from the gte mated with the GE runners. You may want to have a look at my video diary for that engine build to see how I did it. The abs is still in tact on the drivers side (right hand drive vehicle).
@@Jscottie2600 7 months later I reply back haha.. BUT I was thinking of swapping to a non-vvti . I feel as if non vvti rods and pistons are getting harder to find
Instagram???????????
sorry , nothing on instagram unfortunately

Does the air conditioner works
Unfortunately no, I choose not to include it...cold country
Awesome work, helped me alot with mine
Any videos of wiring this to the bmw e46?
Check out my other videos to see that.
you all continue to build these strange engines in the M3. Then mine is all the more worth it :-)
Haha
Thank you SO MUCH for this video! I know i'm about 2 years late hopefully you still see the comments on this video. I have a quick question, at 17:00 you start to show the gray plug. It has (2) green wires coming out of it running to a small black connector. What is that connector? Is that a BMW body harness connector that I can use to splice the signals I need or is that just some wires you found for this job and it just happened to have a connector on it?
Im happy the video could help you somehow. The black connector you are referring to is a body wire from the bmw. (might have been from the ignition to the coils originally) It carries power into 1 and distributes it the the others. So its really a sort of power distribution item.
cx racing downpipe?
Only thing from cx racing is the MAF section. Custom downpipe
Thank you!
That's awesome man, could you possibly post links to where you got some of.ypur parts? Just recently got a GS300 and am interested in boosting it as well as changing pistons and a few other things so the compression ratio isn't so high.
Oh and also did you tap your own oil dump for the turbo or did you put it somewhere else?
Different Engine from last video........ What's the word there
It's the same engine that you saw on the ground in ep1. Look out for the update after the covid border opening
Great vid man. Doing a manual turbo Lexus is300 at the moment. Just trying to find a decent turbo, wastegate and oil lines.
Get a holset
@@ao8271 too big. Gotta change back housing etc. Rather not.
What ecu did you go with?
Ecu masters
hey, bro, thanks for sharing this awesome build hope you have fun with it. I will do the same as for the engine just wonder if you used the GE gaskets or the GTE gaskets? thanks
Use gte
Hey bro. I'm in Jamaica, interested in a swap like this and would love to run some questions by you. Link up if you can.
What's the difference between 2jz gte vvti Vs non vvti?
The short answer is the vvti and the ects.
Hi nice job I’m gonna do same build wonder if u can help me plz thanks
belt wrong installation😅
Nice build man! Im looking to 2JZ-GE swap my S13. Is that a ebay turbo?
go for it. yeah it is
JS2 Thanks, looks like GT45 turbo right? How does it spool and how much HP you get ?
@@caganbey6946 yes gt45, the divided runners gave it an 'ok' spool given the 1.05 rear housing.
JS2 Have you ever put the car on the dyno ? How much HP you think this setup will give to rear wheels ?
im assuming this wasnt vvti since you kept the GE rods?
thats right, this is a GE non-vvti
JS2 yeah I looked again at the timing cover and regretted my comment lol
@@dr.dodrugs8963 no worries
My local shop quoted me $30 000 to turbocharge my 2jz GE to only 300hp.
Thats quite a lot
Yes Also $25 000 to swap to 1jz
Devon Krowchuk In what car? You can turbo a na 2jz for around $1000-$1500 on bone stock motor to around 8psi max, you will make close to 300whp with the right turbo.
m200mw 2001 is 300
m200mw I wouldn’t be able to do the work by myself at the moment
Jamaican right?
yup
Great video! I didn't see this in the video description but for non jz people the 2jz ge non vvti (which is in this video) has a stronger bottom end than the 2jz ge vvti that most people are familiar with from the is300 and gen 2 gs300.
Thanks for watching
Can you do the same thing with vvti tho?
@@guzman7590 that is one of my upcoming projects is swapping the vvti is300 head to a non vvti bottom end to get ready for boost and in theory be able to put it back to stock if need be. Just have to use an oil sandwich plate from the oil filter to feed oil to the vvti solenoid and you can also use the sandwich plate to feed the turbo with oil. With the swap also using a gte headgasket and arp head studs. This swap has been completed on the rabid jz CZcams channel.
Awesome build mate, which BMW box are using?
I used one off the E46 coupe
