Such an underrated song
Frida and Benny were not separated yet here. But during the recording of The Visitors album 1981 they were.
Very 'synthy' song... The backing vocals are very special... I like it (a 7.5 to me) Take care, Mark & John ✌️ Love ❤️ from Chile 🇨🇱🤗👍
One of my favorite hidden gems! Great synth work and production uplifting ! You don't expect this on the b side of the single the winner take it all!
💕🌼💕🌼💕🌼💕🌼💕🌼💕🌼💕
I think that this specific synth sound featured in the intro for some seconds is also used in the intrumentation of one of the songs from the 2021 Voyage album (Keep an Eye on Dan).In the dolby atmos "scanning" of ''Dan" as featured in a video in Bobby's brother channel ('Voyage track-series') some might realise, this is audible.
This is one of my favorite songs by ABBA. The Super Trouper album was released in 1980, and Elain was not originally included on the album. It was the B-side to Winner Takes It All
Its ABBA, why the Rush? ;-) Nice song, Elaine is a great name...;-) The Keyboard really brings this song home!
Its just the shirt I had on for this recording session.
This is one of my favorite unreleased ABBA songs.
It wasn't unreleased. It was released as the B-side to The Winner Takes It All single in July 1980, it just wasn't included on the album originally.
Well you're getting close @richardmccarley,the next bonus one "Put on your white Sombrero" was the one that wasn't released back then in 1980.until 1994 that saw the light in a special limited box set.Have a nice Sunday both of U guys.
This was wonderful to watch! This song grabbed me in ‘82 when I bought the album and it still makes the hairs on my arms rise. So great seeing two people enjoy Rush so much!
I always love that The Analog Kid has to go through Chemistry to become the Digital Man 😂
Love your interaction!
Memorizing 😊😊
Another Gem
Whatever drugs the guy on the right is on, i don't want any.
@@orioles058 It's called autism. Bravo.
My stepson is on the autistic spectrum, not drugs.
What a disrespectful comment 😡 to say the least.
So beautiful to see you two vibing. Restores my faith in my humanity, which has been dented lately.
Oh, I love to see this. Pure JOY. The only HUMAN reaction to something as beautiful as this.
This is what it looks like when a serious Rush fan listens to a Rush song with a metal spoon next to him. You earned a like for the commitment of the guy on the left.
The Signals album was released 1982
Great song. Glad you liked it, Mark. 🎉
A dis on Me And I again.. grr.. you should really listen to it again.
Mark upper Dancing and you both bopping your heads was fun to watch!!
You should give Me And I another listen ..
1979
Hi I hope u will review songs from The Visitors too. My favourite ABBA album. ❤
Best song on this album! ❤
Agnetha's strong vocals!! ❤️
Timpani was added to the live track in the studio.
Indeed Recorded from London Wembley at the end of 1979 for the original 1980 SP album. Could be almost Sweden's national anthem. 😀Because Abba quality very modern even made from that time.
'and after fights and words of violence ,we make up with each other the way old friends do"/'I don't care what comes tommorow.....we can face it together, the way old friends do" this is an hymn to friendship and forgiveness. To me one of the 2 best ABBA album closers together with ''Ode To Freedom"(2021).How can i not feel their heartwarming signs and comfort.I just love them.
This always makes me think of Auld Lang Syne.
It's a very moving track 🥲! Beyond the love of a couple, which ended with two divorces in the band, true friendship, loyalty and respect managed to remain over time... even until today... (2024 and counting...) Always is a plasure to see you, guys! Take care ✌️ Love ❤️ from Chile 🇨🇱 🤗 👍
First comment heré! It's good to see you again with our ABBA Journey with the latest song from the album "Super Trouper". (there are also two bonus tracks: "Elaine" and "Put on your white hat") "The way all Friends do" (1979) This song was a special composition that ABBA made for their 1979 North American and European tour. It is the first of the encores, then the flagship song "Dancing Queen" will arrive, and finally the iconic "Waterloo" in a last and special encore. and so, as it performs live, with some post-production in the recording studio, it was included as the last song on the next album "Super trouper" (1980). like others said, it's a perfect end to the record, a live performance with the sound of the audience, beginning with the high beams of the 'super troupers' It's exciting to see all four of them, after two hours and 20 songs, appear again, Björn introducing his friend Benny solo on accordion, the four of them standing in front of the audience, a first verse with Frida, a second with Agnetha, and then the four of them, to pure joy, emotion and gratitude with the fervent audience but the most important act was in June 2016: to celebrate 50 years since Björn and Benny's first meeting, and beginning of their musical collaboration and friendship, Agnetha and Frida took the stage, and gave Björn and Benny a performance of this very song: "The way all Friends do" Here I leave the link of that impromptu and Historic live performance taken by a fan czcams.com/video/K5nYTGQfnnQ/video.html It must be borne in mind that between 1982 and 2016 there was only one private presentation of all ABBA members (in 1986 for a birthday of their manager Stig) and only once did the four attend the premiere of the film "Mamma Mia" ( but they did not pose together) Because ABBA was always very careful with all kinds of speculation about their meeting I think this tribute performance by Frida and Agnetha was the starting point for what happened just two years later: ABBA's confirmation that the four of them had already returned to the recording studio together for the performance of two new songs, which they eventually became the new album Voyage. and the new Voyage Concerts that a few days ago was their first anniversary, with the assistance of three members of ABBA in London (only Agnetha was not there). PS: The first musical instrument Benny played as a child was the accordion P.S.2: One of the new songs: "I still have faith in you", takes the same words 'joy and sadness' that are in "The way all friends do" same song: PS3:At the end of that video, while the four of them embrace each other, Frida with the microphone in her hand jokingly asks the audience "Do you want the four of us to sing together"? Interestingly, the following year they did it again I send you a big huge from Buenos Aires, Argentina South America
If you ever get chance to come to the UK and see ABBA Voyage, this performance will blow you away.
This song is a hook-armed beast. I had almost forgotten about it. Hooks all over. Great beat and great reaction!
5:06 'lay all your love on meeeee"..After more than 4 decades .i still get lost in that heavenly echo from Frida's and Agnetha's vocal marriage.Unbelievable this comes out of humans(?)....Irreplaceable!
This is still a very popular pick to newer Gens.Btw even Sabrina of the 'Espresso" fame often did this live in her performances.
Hello , have a good day, so nice to see you return with more ABBA songs "Lay all your love on me" (1980) It is part of the album "Super Trouper" and it was their third single in 1981, the first in 12" format, it was #7 in UK Charts and #1 in US Dance Charts "Lay all your love on me" takes up in an isolated way the disco style left by his previous album "Voulez Vous" It has an extraordinary production, especially for voices and choirs It's pretty good (7pts), but it doesn't appeal to me as much as other ABBA songs. I admit that personally I don't like 'disco sound' that much Still, in this disco genre, I like them a little more: "If it wasn't for the nights" (ABBA's best disco track) Summer Night City As good as new Voulez Vous Gimme gimme gimme This is the one I like the least (with "I have a dream") of the 20 Top10 that ABBA has in the UK This explain highly of sublime quality of ABBA's most successful singles (between 7.5pts / 10pts) In your time ABBA did not have an official video (like for "The winner takes all", "Super trouper" and "Happy new year", this last one in Spanish too) But in this historic return of ABBA it became more important, because it is included (with shocking futuristic images) in the setlist of the new Voyage concerts, and was also chosen for the new official lyric videos that ABBA is launching this year, that is the new lyrics videos with more views and is a fourth ABBA song with more views in Spotify Thanks again for bringing ABBA's music and hope to continue with more ABBA Kind regards from Buenos Aires, Argentina 🇦🇷 South America
Trombone too
The hand claps and the Cymbal Crashes do it for me 🎉🎉🎉
I bet when they ask Jesus what his favorite song is and he'll definitely say Voulez Vous lol.
Don't forget Boney M.
Best Song Ever IMO
"Lay All Your Love On Me" by Sylver is just an ABBA cover, it’s their version of the song with the same lyrics and melody, it’s a different case than, for example, "Hung Up" by Madonna. "Lay All Your Love On Me" has a lot of covers by artists like Brotherhood of Man, Erasure, Information Society, Steps, Sylver, A*teens, Cliff Richard, James Last, Richard Clayderman, Zara Larsson, Sabrina Carpenter, to name a few, and some Metal ones by Helloween, Avantasia, Amberian Dawn, ReinXeed, etc. The song was kinda "sampled" by the Vengaboys in "Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom!" - Bjorn & Benny get songwriters credit on it. ✌️
The UK had some groups who paid homage rather well to the ABBA sound! Brotherhood Of Man had 'Angelo' and 'Figaro' (you can see what they did there... 😁) The Dooleys had 'Chosen Few' and 'And I Wish'. Err... Tight Fit 'Fantasy Island', Bucks Fizz 'When We Were Young'...
I don't agree with "Brotherhood of Man" they are rivals, not 'paid homage' Brotherhood of Man don't wanna record "Mamma Mia" that was offered by ABBA to Them anyway ABBA was more biggest in UK than Them "Fernando" knock "Kisses for me" at #1 in UK 1976 Figaro & Angelo was only one week in #1 ABBA is extraordinary, no comparision with ABBA sound
@@eduardooscar309 Sort of toxic response 🤔
@@scouseofhorror104 There is no worse blind than the one who does not want to see
The last track of this 1980 heavy 'synth/keyboard' album (track 10 is live). Like a hymn almost a church choir with a disko beat. Best part is vocal strech before chorus especially in 2. verse.
ABBA's anthem 😅
I love this song! The chorus is like a choir with all four voices together. Someone told me once that they misheard the first line as "I was in jail right before we met" rather than "I wasn't jealous before we met". Unfortunately now I can't unhear it 😅
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
