Hiking Mule
United States
Registrace 1. 12. 2020
Our world is remarkable. Pathways carving through parks, forests, deserts, and a variety of other landscapes allow access to places of solitude where time can stand still allowing an individual to reconnect with both themselves and nature. There is so much out there to see and experience. Whether it's a short trail or a long backpacking adventure, the Hiking Mule looks to show a few of those experiences in hopes to facilitate others in taking that first step themselves.

LOL....when he kicked the bear in the nuts....we do have something in common I see....LOL
Why is there a map of ukraine
Did anyone ever check your permit? No, why get one?
There was a ranger station at the trail head, where it was checked. There were also rangers in the Rae Lake area, which did not ask, but I suppose they could have.
Thank you very much for this interesting and wonderful video! (We'll be going there in four weeks.) Greetings from Germany!
I hope you have a wonderful time! This is a beautiful area with so much to see and experience.
What month did you hike this loop?
I started the hike on July 23 and came off the trail on July 26.
This is a bucket list trip for me… especially since I’ve been to Kings Canyon for car camping a handful of times and pretty familiar with the initial stretch. I MUST GO!!!! I’m feeling euphoric just watching your trip… what an amazing experience it must have been! I even have a huge print out of the usgs quad maps of this hike on the back of my office door at work lol
It was a bucket list item for myself as well! Amazing and challenging once I was finally able to have the stars align.
Your Site is full of Shyte, for rich Bassards
Wow… I did this exact backpack with friend Peter Emberley back in 1982. Your pictures DO capture some of the breathtaking beauty. I am truly grateful you posted this and the only piece you missed was the adult grizzly we encountered /neatly walked right into ( without incident) at the Red Deer Lakes. Also… the glaciers were between 50-60 feet tall and crystal blues… back then and sat even atop the wall of J.
I've never encountered a grizzly yet (that I've seen). I imagine that would be a hair-raising experience! Also, that would have been amazing to see the glaciers that tall!!!
@@hikingmule, yup. Scared all the loose parts out of us! He stood up and then gazed from side to side and made the brilliant choice to run along one of the lakes and we chose the opposite direction.
Pocket sand
Not only is that a great trail but your video was very well done. nice job indeed.
Thank you for the kind words!
In BNP it’s one of the most talked about trails with Egypt Lake, definitely popular & needs to be booked in January. Great video, we’ll get there at some point to review all the back country camps.
I just watched a video on that hike and looks amazing especially with some of the views from the top. Can't wait to get out to that area again.
You can hike from Norquay ski resort, to Hidden Lake, to Luellen Lake to Baker Lake & back to Lake Louise, then take the bus back to your car. It’s a popular route basically hiking from Banff to Lake Louise.
One word. Weather. It is not your friend in mountains.
haha... never predictable in the mountains! Still, I love the challenge it presents. That said, always more enjoyable when you catch the blue skies!!
What is mind blowing about Canada is the area above Glacier can hold 50 Glacier sized parks. 50 at least. I don't go to Canada. Or east of WY UT. I don't hike either. Go in out. Stick to no rain areas above 8000 feet in the summer. Leave Juneteenth ever year.
That's my tendency as well until this one, but it turned out fantastic. We added on some front-country camping in that same area after the backpacking trip, enjoying the blue lakes of Banff! It was an absolutely incredible area!!
The windrivers are no sht wilderness. The loop from Teton around Dubois Lander Pinedale Hoback Jackson is 465 miles. Teton around Yellowstone and back 330 miles. They are attached. And more. And you can actually get killed by a grizzly. Beartooth you will see griz. That is the difference between Wyoming and the rest. More Grizzlies. Wolves. Lions. Elk. Bison. Moose. Coyotes too. Yep.
Yep. Absolutely need to be prepared in this area, but you will also be rewarded with amazing views!
Love the safety yellow shirt!
haha.... it's one of his signature shirts he always wears. I love it because it's easy to spot him!
Great video! Thanks
Glad you liked it!
Interesting to see it for 2023. I understand the roads end up Bubbs Creek. I tell everyone go in over Kearsarge out Taboose Pass. If game go in Taboose go out Shepherd Pass. The question is do you want peaks? Shepherd gets you Tyndall Keith and Williamson if you them. Kearsarge Pass gets you Mount Gould. 13k plus. It is a gem. If at top go out ridge toward Dragon Peak. Taboose is a pass. Wide big epic cliffs waterfall. If not dried up. Long approach from Hwy 395 side. The classic path is in Kearsarge out Kearsarge. 17-18 miles between it and Roads end. BUT. You have to drive to roads end! Lol. Yep. Now Hwy 395 side you park at 9200 feet Kearsarge walk 5.7 to pass. Bam. You can in and out Taboose too. Pow. The only west east route I have taken is Clover Meadow towards Yosemite or Devils Postpile and Courtright Lake to middle. Roads End/Kearsarge is the main short route between sides. Roads are Sherman Pass and Tioga. Thats it. Great video. As usual all things SOCAL are one the live harder love hard channel. And Zion area Jonjasperadventurepage Google it. My channel sucks. The west is on there though.
I've thought about bagging some peaks on a trip but have yet to incorporate it into a backpacking trip. Perhaps in a future one! The entire area of this trip offers so many amazing options.
Fundy Footpath in NB is ranked in the top 50 worldwide, and from personal experience knocks the pants off of Chignecto.
It does look fantastic!!! Of the over 200 I reviewed; it came in at #16. I was surprised to see it come in just below Chignecto. Thanks for the feedback.
Well done! A great, well thought out review
Thanks! It was fun to pull all the data together.
Be safe and don't get lost been hearing lots of stories about hiking and backpacking that are not all good💯

You misspelled that
@@friendlyneighborhoodpotheadclearly he was saying "in area" in a different language, which is refering to the area of LA, that cleary makes sense with the context of the video. Shame on you for failing to properly utilize context clues to decode this clearly intellectually superior comment.
So very true
I know there are canadians on the show but that's just every calipornhub
With a girl? Sounds fun!
whats the original? who is the comedian?
Outstanding upload my friend
skinwalker made this
Took me a second lol
+1 creating memories with friends is priceless
As a tween I went wandering off on a mountain ridge and got lost. I saw a dog and it seemed friendly and wanted me to follow it. So we wandered around. Saw a spooky woodland statue, ran away from neighbor dogs, and eventually it led me back to where my parents were. I was weirdly not scared the whole time.
I hated dirt and mud. I would cry if i got mud on my shoes.
It’s… soooo… beYOUtiful😢😢😢😢
If you're back aching with Chris Barrow his around a wild animal. He'd better take your forty four mile in a more substantial defend yourself with😮😅

Gorgeous short my friend

Absolutely NOT true. I spent 27+ years in the Military, and the Navy can even carry a 50 lbs. pack and it doesn't help abs.
This is absolutely false! I gained weight backpacking for 2 months!!! Unrelated fun fact, they make dehydrated cheesecake and its amazing
I think you solved the mystery of why u gained weight
@@hqd5844 unlikely! It's hiking food and hiking food is healthy
haha... hmm.... cheesecake! Sounds like it's worth a try!
You can get a six pack doing a lot more than just hiking and gym
